| Something interesting about Bed of Chaos. Posted: 15 Jul 2021 06:42 PM PDT I was doing a NG+ plahthrough and got too Bed of Chaos. I had only equipped Childs Mask and Grass Crest Shield on my right hand. Got both sides and made the jump to the bug inside. I did an L1 with a bare fist and it did about two-thirds instead of the usual one-shot. First time I've ever seen this so I thought I'd share it. Posted: 16 Jul 2021 01:13 AM PDT I swear I get cursed every single time I go there and then I have to walk all the way back to firelink to get a purging stone from the asylum, or spend forever grinding souls to buy one, only to walk back and probably get cursed again. I really wish there was just a bonfire near the entrance to Blighttown, cuz if there was I wouldn't have this problem at all. Each time I die there I have to go through the depths again, and that usually results in me getting cursed from standing in the mist for half a second. I like the challenge of the rest of the game, but this just feels completely cheap. [link] [comments] |

| I have finished my first ever run this week and I had one of my bests gaming experiences Posted: 16 Jul 2021 12:54 AM PDT I've tried playing DS1 many times for years before finally getting hooked up on souls games this year with DS3. I've done it with my friends and it was a wonderful experience although I got hard carried most of the time. Then I started consuming Dark Souls content a lot and I decided to play DS1 like 2 months ago, on the Prepare to Die edition. I really, really liked it more than the 3 for it's atmosphere and the mood it puts me on. Sound design is wonderful. World layout is clever. The combat is perfectly paced for me and getting through Blight Town the first time was such a blast. I made it through Anor Londo and I would just chill and admire the architecture of the zone for hours. Then I started another run but on Remastered for the sake of coop with my friend. Ended up getting black knight sword in Undead Burg on the first black knight. (And my friend too). We completely stomped the game from start to end and it was very funky, although I dealt a lot of damage the game always challenged me in different ways. The fight against Artorias, the fight against Ornstein and Smough, Manus, diving through the catacombs and the Tomb of giants, cutting all the bosses tails, and it always felt rewarding, killing that bitch Lautrec, saving Solaire, I could just have fun by exploring the world without enemies seeing how beautifully designed it is, I really had a blast exploring it all. I admire its interconnectivity. The only thing that deceived me is that I was way, way too op for the Gwyn fight, it litteraly lasted 15 seconds. Couldn't appreciate the ost for more. 10/10 would play again. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Jul 2021 08:45 AM PDT So ZerroLenny just put out a video playing through Bloodborne with a god awful IGN day 1 walkthrough, and it's got me curious if anybody here has ever come across a really bad DS1 walkthrough? I think it'd be a laugh to play through the game exactly as a walkthrough suggests, written by someone that doesn't know what they're talking about or how the game works properly. | tried to like nioh and nioh 2 but couldnt, am i alone Posted: 15 Jul 2021 03:42 PM PDT i wont say im a souls veteran but i played half through ds2 and completed ds3 and with all dlc, completed sekiro and im half the way on my ds1 walkthough, (waiting for sometime in the future to play bb since i dont own a ps console )so u can say im in love with the genre but i wanted more, so i picked nioh 1 and 2....couldnt finish 2 hrs of neither, i dunno why but it feels so weird and unconfortable to play this game, nothing really creative, the environments are dull, combat weird, graphics kinda bad, soundtrack boring, bosses ughh it feels like ds2 bosses....am i doing smth wrong here how all dark souls lovers like this game? Ive done this before in previous playthroughs, however twice now I've failed to "cut" his tail. Which I dont really understand how I haven't this recent attempt because I was at the very minimum nearly 3/4ths of the way to the end of his tail. I believe most people use the method of doing it right at the beginning after you shatter the crystal and it stuns him briefly. But i cant get back there in time for a very clean attempt. Do you just use a bow and stand closer to him? I hit him with 2 dark beads like i said at least or around 3/4ths the way to the end of his tail (which almost killed him all together, dark bead OP n all). I remember this happening to me one of my first times playing X years ago. Just cant remember what i did lol. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 16 Jul 2021 12:29 AM PDT It was this time 8 years ago I dove into this series. I was in the darkest pit I have ever been in my life. My fiance had just left me for my at the time best friend, they took everything from me my home, my pets, most of my belongings. Luckily a few friends took me in, all I had in the world was their couch and a PS3. I could barely drag myself off that couch everyday, they would come into the place I worked and flaunt it in my face they were together. The place I was staying was only down the street so I'd see them drive by everyday. There was no escape and I was the closer to trying to end it all then I like to think about. I needed something to take my mind off everything and on a complete whim I bought a pre owned copy of Dark Souls. It didn't take long before my sleepless nights changed from because of terrible thoughts to because I was exploring this world of what at the time was infinite possibilities, searching every nook and cranny for new items and weapons, forcing myself not to use guides and learning this world for myself. I can still vividly picture that first time beating O&S, getting the lord vessel and just feeling this overwhelming sense of accomplishment and self pride, and almost all at once all the pain of what happened in my life lifted off of me. I can honestly say Dark Souls saved my life, and it tought me to truly imbrace so many lessons. Life isn't easy, it isn't supposed to be. Bad things are going to happen, sometimes you are going to get sent back to what is essentially the beginning with nothing. It's up to you to learn and adapt and persevere through it. The world won't change for you and will hardly ever help you. It's going to feel unfair, like everything is against you, and that's OK. It's what you do about it that matters. You can fall down as may times as needed, as long as you stand up one more. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Jul 2021 07:42 PM PDT So I got invaded and me thinking I'm clever I used someone summon sign to help me fight the invader. Then all of a sudden it cuts to the cutscene of dark sun gwyndoline dying. I haven't even fought ornstein and smough yet this playthrough! And I've never fought that particular boss in any of my previous playthroughs! Now I'm in the hallway where the boss fight took place and I feel robbed of getting to fight them myself! So a couple questions, 1. What the hell happened??? I had just entered the castle area after the notorious archers. 2. Am I stuck now?? I've never been here before and I didnt get through the castle or fight O&S I'm worried I'm going to be in some area that is still locked. 3. Can I remedy this somehow? Quit the game without saving? Or? Anything?? I've been seriously enjoying this playthrough but I feel so cheated and upset now. How was he even fighting a boss without me??? I dont understand. Edit: Ok yeah this is some glitchy bullshit. I realize I can use a homeward bone and I guess the boss was optional but I really wanted to experience that fight. And the statue is still there and wont budge so if I didnt have a homeward bone on me I would be Screwwwweeed. How is this even possible? [link] [comments] |
