Posted: 09 Feb 2021 09:13 AM PST I'm an Og souls player starting with demon souls on ps3. I played each souls game as they came out and when ds2 came out i wasn't much of a fan. In fact i beat it once and never played it again. Recently i just borrowed it from my buddy for the ps4 and i'm absolutely loving it. It might be my new second favorite souls game actually. I feel it's really unique and bold compared to other souls games. It's by far the biggest. There are soooo many bosses. I've played 20 hours on my current character and feel like i've barely scratched the surface of it. I absolutely love the power stancing and the twin blades, it gives the game a unique approach and build choices. There are also tons of super unique and cool designed armors all through out the game. So far my favorite has got to be the Iron Clad set. Anyways, i just wanted to say i feel like ds2 is hated on way too much and i'm extremely glad i decided to give it another go. [link] [comments] |
Just barely first tried the old dragon slayer Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:27 PM PST Honestly This boss was oddly hard for me to figure out how to fight since I got lost and did not expect to have to fight that dragon to get there since I thought it was un kill able I would say this boss is one of my favorites so far in this game I did prefer the sentinels over it tho [link] [comments] |
Transition from DS2 to DS3 - visual information overload Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:09 AM PST I've just started playing Dark Souls 3, after enjoying over 200 hrs in DS2. The game looks fantastic, but the overload of visual information hurts my eyes! I find the DS2 visual experience much more soothing, less busy. I had the same with the Gears of War games - too much too look at and track. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Feb 2021 10:04 AM PST After giving up on DS2 at launch I finally revisited the game and just finished it. Putting some points into ADP was a real game changer. Rolling with additional invincibility frames feels so good - I think that is what DS2 does better than the other Souls series games. It keeps the combat fast, and allows for an aggressive play style that DS1 didn't encourage as much. I played 1/2 of the game with the Bastard Sword with a Strength build, and rounded off the latter parts of the game with the Greatsword. Love the potential to keep mashing when two handed, and sweeping when single handed. I can't think of a favourite boss fight, but I liked the Pursuer because his constant appearances were memorable and a fun challenge. I hope you'll accept me into the fold as a born-again DS2 fan after my initial stubbornness against the game! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:09 AM PST Meet the PyroThe problem with creating a build based on the Pyro is a matter of fashion rather than function. There's no shortage of pyromancies with which to burninate the countryside, but there isn't a single gas mask in the whole game. If you do decide to make a Pyro build, there's two main routes you can take. Pyromancy scales with both Intelligence and Faith and a combined total of 60 is the soft cap. Pyromancy as your main attack and a low investment melee weapon to back you up can be an extremely powerful setup as long as you're not fighting something that's wet or already on fire. Alternatively, you can completely ignore Int and Fth in favor of other stats and have pyromancy be perfectly viable. What you lose in Fire damage you gain back in survivability stats and possibly damage on melee weapons. Weapons:

Posted: 08 Feb 2021 02:24 PM PST (rant) jesus fucking christ. i need another giant soul for Vendrick because i refuse to go through the cesspool that is Dragon Shrine and fight an equally infuriating boss. so naturally, i level up the black gulch bonfire, and decided its better to fight the 2 giants there again. and then i remembered why i got so angry the last time i did it. they're the exact same thing. they're the exact same enemy. there isnt one thats more docile and gives you room to fight the other. it's the same enemy. and as far as i can tell, you cant lure them out one by one. you just have to fight them both at once. it's like they designed a giant, put him down in the black gulch, and said "but this isnt hard enough :((((((" and just fucking. copy pasted him. I’m kinda curious of peoples opinions on sorcery builds ds3 compared to ds2 Posted: 09 Feb 2021 12:37 PM PST So in my experience so far I played my ds3 sorcery and could not really get into it due to mobs and bosses just seeming way to un forgiving for that class Then I tried it on ds2 and even know it was in some ways similar I still just liked it a lot like it felt more of a do able class I would probably of continued with the ds3 one to give it more of a chance but I feel like I would be comparing the games too much for my comfort if I'm playing sorcery on both so now when I go back to play it I'll use the swordsman [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:21 AM PST Trying to get both an agape ring for the low sm build as well as the no bonfire illusory ring, is this possible at the same time? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Feb 2021 03:39 AM PST I'm going to start practicing for the no death run and attempt to get the first illusionary ring. I've watched Otzdarva's video from 2015 on it. Is there any other advice? Any weapons to use other than the rapier?😂 Cheers [link] [comments] |
Fume knight going second phase at the start of the fight (sotfs) Posted: 09 Feb 2021 01:44 PM PST Every time ive fought fume knight he goes second phase at the very start, but in every video ive seen of someone fighting him he goes second phase around half way through. Anyone know why? [link] [comments] |

No Death Run Day 4 - I passed Shrine of Amana! (And build details) Posted: 09 Feb 2021 01:17 PM PST I beat all lords, passed the castle and Shrine of Amana in today's session and I'm not dead yet! My build ended up being pretty wacky but it's quite efficient. Right now I'm using:

Posted: 09 Feb 2021 01:14 PM PST Why does this game get so much hate? The level design is neat and the enemies are tough. This is my first time playing through and I've enjoyed everything so far. I want honest opinions so if anyone recommends a way to avoid op items like life gems I'm all ears! [link] [comments] |
Taking too much physical damage, even with good armor Posted: 09 Feb 2021 12:25 PM PST Title says it all. I'm really struggling at the later areas of the game. I already have a fully upgraded Alonne armor, but most of the enemies makes mincemeat of me in just a few hits. I'm forced to chug a lot of Estus just to survive. Am I doing something wrong? Should I restart my character from zero? Here are my stats: https://files.catbox.moe/09cfsw.jpg [link] [comments] |

Undead Purgatory is the hardest area in the game Posted: 09 Feb 2021 05:31 AM PST I've gotten platinum (all trophies/ achievements) for ds2 before and on my new account I'm doing it again. One thing I remember every time I beat this game is how much I hate this area. Coming from the bridge approach bonfire and walking there is so painful because I have to do it over and over and over and one more time for the one in the back. Genuinely I've died more on my way there and to the boss fight and in the chariot fight than every other part of the game combined. The thing I'm trying to ask is there any location like this for anyone else.? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:16 AM PST (About to start NG+/Not a PvP player) So i am currently using a +10 Grand Lance with 50 STR/DEX and i am wondering if i should infuse it and respec to use buffs or smth because its scaling is only C in STR and DEX. Can someone help me about that ? [link] [comments] |
Dark Souls 2 better than Dark Souls 1 or 3 Posted: 09 Feb 2021 10:47 AM PST In my opinion, it's the best of the games. But it isn't a good Dark Souls game. [link] [comments] |
