Dad passed away, looking for old ENB videos, need some help Posted: 15 Jun 2021 02:38 AM PDT Hello dear DS community, my father passed away a few weeks ago. He really only ever played video games during the NES/SNES era, mostly Super Mario World. However, he enjoyed watching me play Dark Souls (well, and some other few games) for whatever reason, and I subsequently showed him some of my favourite Dark Souls YouTubers, mainly EpicNameBro/Marcus, as they were the reason I powered through the inital struggles with the game. We watched some of his older stuff together, like his Zwei and a Chat playthrough, Dark Days, Dark Days Rekindled etc. You know, all the stuff Marcus has sinced removed from his channel. My question is: Does anyone know how I can re-watch all those old playthroughs? Has someone here maybe downloaded them and can share them with me privately? I would be immensely grateful. I'm trying to re-live some of the fondest memories I've shared with my dad over the last years and this was one of them. Thanks for reading [link] [comments] |
I didn’t know you had to break that Crystal to kill Seath Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:28 PM PDT I was just playing the fight normally and I guess he broke it himself. I just read that you need to break this to kill him XD [link] [comments] |

Posted: 14 Jun 2021 03:42 PM PDT I've taken my first character to try out the meta, and everywhere I see are great clubs/silver tracers trying to backstab fish. The entire fight is nothing but them trying to reverse roll, ninja flip or circle strafing for those crits. I somehow expected more from the meta PvP. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:34 AM PDT I've been trying for 2 fucking days to get past them and I just can't. I've tried EVERYTHING I can think of and I still die! Not to mention how annoying it is to even get to them, cos if they don't kill you, the Sentinals or the Batwing Demons will. Please help me. Edit: Finally got passed those assholes. Managed to get to the one on the right and he fell to his death. Tried to parry the second one but he fell as well lol. Edit 2: been trying to beat Ornstein and Smough for the past 9 hours and I just rage quit. I'll try again tomorrow lol. If anyone has any tips that can help me that'll be really great. Posted: 15 Jun 2021 12:28 AM PDT So I came across a few cool hitboxes in DSR, and decided to compile them into a short montage. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2021 01:52 AM PDT Hello, this is may be kinda sus but I just feel so happy to have beaten this blingfull duo and feel the need to share it. This is my first playthrough and I didn't use any summons to beat them :) I found the first phase to be almost 8mpossible but super smough was kinda chill. Beat the boss on the 4th time I got to phase 2. Also hella clutch, no estus left and one hit away from death haha. Maybe 25 attempts total? Either way I finally beat them!!! [link] [comments] |
Been Stuck on Manus, Father of the Abyss for like 7 years Posted: 14 Jun 2021 07:30 AM PDT Just like the title says more or less. Been Stuck on Manus, Father of the Abyss for like 7 years, at first attempted him every Day , then after awhile every week, then month then few months to now, where I have not even tried in like 3 years. Tried Solo, tried with sif, tried with player help, always get killed either early or when his health is almost nothing. Have Basically given up at this point, but I leave the game installed, sitting there taunting me. LOL [link] [comments] |
I'm nearing the end of the game (I think) and I just discovered the Depths... Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:09 PM PDT So I just recently beat Seath The Scaleless, O & S and four kings, all before I even knew the Depths existed... I have been using a +5 claymore this whole time, I'm level 65. My mind is blown because this is the reason I could not upgrade past +5, I easily zoomed past this area with no effort and Capra demon and Gaping dragon was the easiest fights in the game. I feel like the entrance to this location is extremely well hidden, I never even considered needing to back track after getting the basement key, I just continued forwards going through undead parish> darkroot garden>darkroot basin>valley of drakes>blight town>new londo ruins>sens fortress>anor lando>catacombs>dukes archives,>crystal cave and lastly the depths. I thought it was weird how blight town led very far up to basically nothing. Now I know. So a location I had access to at level 15 I never knew about until 50 levels later at 65. Has anyone else completely missed the depths all together? I would have never even consider backtracking if I didn't see people saying to have a +10 weapon at sens fortress or a +15 at seath. The open ended map design is both a blessing and a curse. TL;DR: Title [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2021 10:35 PM PDT I can't believe I'm saying this but those mushroom people at the base of the Great Hollow were the hardest enemies I have faced the ENTIRE game thus far. Period. They have way too much HP. My fully upgraded black knight sword was mince meat compared to these things. After defeating Quelaag and Stray Demon in only a few attempts each, these mushroom folk had no business being this hard. I made very little progress today because I ended up getting cursed twice by the basilisks and I had to go all the way back to the zombie lady to get stones to cure my condition. When I got back, I finally managed to defeat them by cheesing them on the upper platforms but SERIOUSLY. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT MY GREATEST ENEMY IN THIS GAME WOULD BE THESE DOUGHBOYS. I explored the Ash Lake, got everything I could and joined the dragon covenant. And that's it. I made about 15-20 minutes worth of progress today over a span of 5-6 hours. Someone end my life. Posted: 14 Jun 2021 04:39 PM PDT I had accidentally used the fire keepers soul earlier where the bell gargoyles are not knowing i was supposed to give it to the fire keeper. Now the fire keepers dead and i need that estus flask upgrade rn since iron golem does a lot of damage [link] [comments] |
why is sif's summon sign inside the manus arena? Posted: 14 Jun 2021 03:12 PM PDT is it because they didnt want to make an animation for sif entering the fog gate or explain how they got down there with us, to make it so the summon didnt raise the hp of an already difficult boss, or just to screw over people trying to get to the sign before inevitably getting squashed by the big furry arm ? what do you guys think ? i'm curious! Is it normal to find some Soulsborne games extremely harder than others? Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:47 PM PDT I find it really weird - I'm pretty good at Dark Souls 1. I can beat almost every boss on my third or fourth try, or my first try if I've fought it before. But then, when I moved to Dark Souls 3, it felt like a nightmare playing it; I rarely had enough stamina to avoid boss combos, enemies often felt obnoxious and confusing, yet I've heard complaints about it being much easier than Dark Souls 1, or just simple things, people saying that it has good and fun difficulty. Then, in Bloodborne (which I played before Dark Souls), I found the base gameplay decently easy to get the hang of yet the bosses felt like I had absolutely no choice but to either get help or cheese it, excepting only the first boss. Is it normal to find the small-ish differences in gameplay difficult like this, or am I doing something extremely wrong? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:24 PM PDT Do you guys think that there will be a Ds1 remake at some point? And if so, what is your thought on it? Or possibly a Ds2 and Bloodborne remaster? I would love to hear y'all's thoughts on this. [link] [comments] |
Can i enter the AotA DLC only to save Sif, then leave without having placed the Lordvessel? Posted: 14 Jun 2021 11:25 PM PDT Basically, i want to see Kaathe, but i also want the alternate cutscene for Sif. This means i'll go from Anor Londo straight to the AotA DLC, without placing the Lordvessel. Is this possible? Would i have to go through the entire DLC to get back since i can't warp with Lordvessel? Edit: Nevermind, you gotta place the Lordvessel to get to the Duke's Archives to get the pendant to enter AotA. I'll stick to seeing Kaathe rather than the alternate cutscene for Sif [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2021 12:31 AM PDT Do the enemies of dark souls actually get harder in NG++? I just finished NG+ and when I didn I fought Manus, Kalameet, then Gwyn. I had to Summon a phantom and Sif for Manus to get him and Kalameet was just a bit of a slog. Gwyn was easy but I found him ready on NG too. So I figured I was right about where I wanted to be as far as levels go when I ended. So I expected the start of NG++ to be as it was when I first started but it's actually really easy. I burned through Taurus Demon and gargoyles with ease. I also noticed enemies drop the same souls they did in NG+ so I'm wondering if they don't get harder than they were in NG+ and it just gets easier from here. [link] [comments] |
I was bored so I made a list of DS1 bosses with their respective HP pool Posted: 14 Jun 2021 10:22 AM PDT https://i.imgur.com/SBs7LTa.png Edit: Forgot Centipede Demon and Firesage was not translated yet. Disclaimer: Data was fetched from https://darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com/ [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Jun 2021 03:38 AM PDT I keep getting mixed messages by people insisting that I should have DLC or people that say I probably don't have DLC. Thing is, I placed the Lordvessel, rescued Dusk of Oolacile, and I can see that I could ascend special boss soul weapons at the giant blacksmith from soul of Manus and soul of Artorias. But the Broken Pendant will not drop off of the crystal in Duke's archives. I've seen people suggest it might be in a chest behind Frampt, it isn't. The crystal does respawn. I play on PS3 and people have said it's possible that I have a version that recognizes DLC and can interact with the game as if I had it, but I don't. I have the ghostly blue cover with the dude standing in front of it, on the back 'PREPARE TO DIE' is written just below 'from the makers of demon's souls' if that helps. TL;DR Broken pendant won't drop, do I even have DLC in my game? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2021 11:45 PM PDT Hi all. I've been on reddit for over 2 years now but mostly as a lurker. during the pandemic i got a lot of gaming in and beat all 3 dark souls games. ive beaten demon souls and played Bloodborne a bit as well, but I keep coming back to DS1. dont know what it is but i just love it. i've beaten the game about a dozen times, and ive gotten to NG+6 just to do it I guess. i got all trophies and my current goal is no deaths on the first playthru. it's not going well, lol. anyway, just wanted to say hi. I'm not an expert, but happy to help in any way i can. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2021 07:49 PM PDT What's the deal with this big door across the bridge after the 3 or 4 blue dragons? I can't seem to find any good info online anywhere. Im sure this has been asked before....but is it possible to open that door? Or is the purpose just to go up that ladder and get the red tearstone ring? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2021 07:02 PM PDT I've explored all over the place but I can't progress because the pathway is "Sealed by the great one's power" and I also can't leave the place. What do I do? [link] [comments] |

Is Moonlight greatsword worth it? Posted: 14 Jun 2021 04:19 PM PDT Hey guys. I'm doing a platinum run of DSR at the moment and since I needed a minimum of 15 int to get Logan to sell me stuff I figured I'll try a spellsword build. I currently have enough stats to use the claymore which I upgraded to fire. I have never used the Moonlight greatsword before and think it's an interesting weapon but I heard it's actually pretty underwhelming and that just making something else (like my claymore for example) enchanted+5 will actually be better. Thoughts from the hive mind? [link] [comments] |
