- Sunken city is 100% one of the best looking locations in DS2 hands down. Love it.

| Posted: 14 Jun 2021 01:47 PM PDT I defeated the throne gank, Nashandra and then Aldia before picking the throne ending and becoming the new king of Drangleic. I loved every minute of the game and am sad to see it end. Shrine of Amana, Lost Bastille, Iron Keep, Undead Crypt, Forest of Fallen Giants, Drangleic Castle, so many memorable areas and all the DLCs. It was just great I enjoyed it just as much as Dark Souls 1 and honestly think it's a superior entry. It's more challenging, has endless content, and more build variety imo. I will now be starting Dark Souls III followed by Demon's Souls after that, Sekiro, and eventually Elden Ring. I will return to DS2 for NG+ at some point. I remember picking up this game for the PS3 with the DLC bundle; it was new at the time and I had no clue about the fan following and cultural significance of the Dark Souls universe. In fact all it took for me to buy the game was seeing some footage of Forest of Fallen Giants. It looked unique and the PVP footage was enticing. I vaguely remember going through the game up until Lost Bastille. Something about the level design and color pallet left me with a very distinctly alone feeling. Like I was in this dark scary placed and completely isolated. This tension finally escalated to panic when the room full of swordsmen before the Ruin Sentinels became my undoing.. I think I quit the game for 3 months due to that room being impossible. What moment from your first play through can you still remember? [link] [comments] | ||

There I was walking to the portal that would lead me to the memory of the iron king. Not knowing what I would face in this strange place I killed every single goon that was guarding the true prize. Beaten and shaken I went through the fog door and saw him SIR ALONNE. He kept beating me on the floor and after many attempts I was going to call it quits but then I was filled with DETERMINATION. After wasting buffs in failed attempts I just went in there with new found confidence. I was literally 1hp and I chugged my last two estus in his face to assert my dominance. I proceeded to whack him with the big stick and then it happened. He fell and I came out on top. I am now Sir Weeb. [link] [comments] | ||

We know she "was born of dragons, contrived by men" in an effort to stop the curse and potentially break the cycle, most certainly Vendrick and/or Aldia. But whatever experiment they were running failed in the end So she is part dragon, but also obviously human, given her appearance. She holds a piece of humanity/dark soul like every other human We become the next king by assuming the throne. She is the closest to a "queen" our character has. The 4 other queens were all shards of Manus. The dark soul kindles the flame. And it links the flame. The dark sign/dark soul feeds on souls, grows more powerful, and provides stronger kindling to the flame. The name Shanolotte is close to Shandra as Vendrick refers to his queen. The dragons exist separately from the cycle of light and dark. They are everlasting. They are immune to fire. They are fire What if the Emerald Herald is an attempt to combine the properties of the dark soul with the everlasting property of dragons? Could she be the daughter of Nashandra and Vendrick? Born from a shard of Manus would give her a great fragment of the dark soul and also a piece of Vendrick's strength. This would make her powerful kindling to link the first flame, which burns brighter when consuming the dark soul Perhaps something was done to her in the womb in an attempt to give her the immortality of the everlasting dragon, something involving scales or petrified dragon bones. Something that would allow her to survive linking the fire? In theory you would have a child of dark (powerful kindling) combined with the everlasting dragon (link the flame forever). If it worked this would have ended the cycle. The first flame would never fade, and would burn forever. No more curse. No more undead. No more chosen to link the flame. Shanolotte would be one immortal link sustained by the everlasting dragon. Of course the plan failed. And she instead fulfilled her purpose in another way by guiding the next monarch to the throne [link] [comments] | ||

| I wanted to come back to play DS2 again, but suddenly my controller no longer works properly. Posted: 14 Jun 2021 10:37 AM PDT I'm playing on a Windows 10 PC using a PS2 controller with a USB adapter and x360ce, the same exact configuration I played the game with before. I booted up the game and now the controls are all scrambled. the right joystick heavy attacks, the triggers bring up menus, ABXY are mixed up, all kinds of whacky stuff. I tried re-installing x360ce, I tried reconfiguring the controller from scratch in Steam. My USB adapter converts input to PS3 controller, so I tried playing with a PS3 configuration and that didn't work either. I tried the controller with other games and it worked perfectly fine, execept with DS1 Prepare to Die Edition, which has the same issues. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
