Looking to help people start their dream builds right from the beginning. Can an existing low-level mule help out by duping me their goods? Especially needing Ivory King gear because I don't want to farm that shit again :) Thanks

    Help me understand the curse

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 02:46 PM PDT

Beat the first game, mostly through the second, just have to do Sunken King, then kill Vendrick and the final boss. But I still don't understand the curse

-Undead hollows rise as the flame fades. -Hollowing is the gradual decline and entropy of self, losing reasoning, memory, etc and becoming a mindless creature that preys on souls

Why does that happen when the flame fades?

Hollowing is not connected to the flame in our game play. Going to the flame restores health and estus, but does not reverse hollowing. Only humanity does that aka the dark soul

The dark soul reverses hollowing and makes us human again.

If anything the fading of the flame should make the influence of humanity and the dark soul stronger. It should not cause hollowing which is the opposite of dark

Death causes hollowing. So does the fading of the flame just cause more death? That would make sense.

Fading flame = less health from flame = more death = more hollowing ?

Havel Armor Mod/Fix Request (Visual Only)

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 12:46 PM PDT

Any modders who would be able to fix 2 small issues with the armor? Armors plates behind the legs stretch when you walk/run. It looks super silly and makes it look like its made from rubber. In DS1 and DS3 this issue does not exist. Is this something that could be fixed? And ofc the weird glow it has. Fix both of these and ill buy you a beer or two 😂
The glow fix already exists but its for the non-sotfs version only: https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls2/mods/69?tab=description

Is pyromancy worth it at base int/fth?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 08:52 AM PDT

Never really used pyro in this game before and was wondering.

I'm working on a melee build (starting class knight) and realized I have a few spare points I could put into attunement. If I added pyromancies, could they do reasonable damage if the catalyst is fully upgraded?

Any guaranteed one-shots on these CoC enemies besides Climax or CSS?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 11:29 AM PDT

Want to farm the Dragon Knights and the Warhammer Drakekeeper for their weapons / scales, but I run out of casts around the GS Drakekeeper, and the Warhammer one is a bastard when using melee as a squishy sorcerer. I have spare Soul Vessals and I don't mind upgrading some non-boss weapons for this, but I don't have the Crypt Blacksword from the Rotten or enough materials to upgrade it, and my current strongest weapons don't even oneshot dragon Knights when backstabbing. I could use some help pls

After the last post, I decided to take the advice you guys gave me to make my build better. How bad is it now?

    Which weapon to go for?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 10:00 AM PDT

So i never beat the game yet so spoiler free if you can please. I'm making a dex/faith build and so far I hit gold with the rapier but due to its low durability I was wondering of a second option to have as a backup. I was thinking about the black steel katana but I'm open to suggestion.

Getting into DS2 and need build/NPC advice

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 09:58 AM PDT

Good Morning, spoiler tagging just to be safe with the DS1 NPC stuff below.

I recently finished DS1 after a long time of not playing it, and ended up loving it way more than I expected. For DS1 I looked up builds and NPC story stuff since I didn't want to mess anything up, and while I was able to play through the game and enjoy it, collateral damage of me looking stuff up was that I had some regions/characters/story spoiled for me by accident. Hoping to hop into DS2 more blind, I figured the best thing to do would be to tell the subreddit what info I needed for DS1 and see if you could offer me the equivalent stuff for DS2.

In DS1, I started knight, then went high endurance, vitality, strength and medium dexterity and faith so that my final build could be havel's set and greatshield of artorias. This way I had high poise and could sit behind my greatshield and weather attacks. The ultra greatswords were too unwieldy for me, so I used the claymore instead. For rings I had Havel's ring and the ring of favor and protection giving me max stamina and the ability to be at below 50% equip load. What would my equivalent build be in DS2?

Planning on playing it through once, I'd want to make sure I see all the NPC stories through, at least for fellow knights. The info for DS1 would be advice for the chaos eater fight for Siegmeyer and the Chaos servant stuff for Solaire to save them both, as well as the areas they appear if like Siegmeyer they're out of order. Anything I'd need to know re: NPC stories for DS2 to not miss things like that?

Additionally, the thing that helped me the most for DS1 was a list of the best order for a new player to go to the areas in the game. Is there one of these for DS2?

Sorry for the long post and thank you for reading/answering it. Looking forward to sinking my teeth into the second game.

    Arena always disappoints me

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 09:36 AM PDT

I've been getting back into DS2 for the last week, doing some invasions, grinding the dragon covenant, ect. But like every other time that I try to get more cracked red eye orbs, I sadly have to engage in the tryhard arena which kills my enjoyment in a matter of minutes.

I know this is nothing new and it has been like this for years, but my god it would be great if I didn't have to fight agaisnt the same 3 soul level 500 tryhards again and again until I go mental. Don't get me wrong I don't mind losing and considering that I just came back to this game a week ago, I don't expect to win a lot, but with the arena pretty much dead, getting cracked eyed orbs consistently is torture. I know you can buy them on NG+ for like 10k, but I haven't even finished my normal NG run so arena is really the only option I have rn.

Overall I just needed to vent, nothing is going to change I know, but it's sad because I remember the glory days of DS2 arena where you would face off againt diffirent players and could get cracked eyed orbs fairly consistently.
