    Hunters!

You know it, I know it, and so do the beasts that are slowly encroaching upon you...it is nearly that time of the year. Return to Yharnam has begun on Bloodborne's 6th anniversary, running from March 24th to April 7th! To account for CoVID's continuous impact across multiple regions, the event is extended once more for all us Hunters who want to spend just a little more time in the beautiful and very peaceful world of Central Yharnam.

Fellow players from both the Bloodborne Reddit and Discord community, as well as other Soulsborne communities shall be joining in on the Hunt. Please take note of the points mentioned below:

    • To get the most out of this event, create a brand new character and play through the game while summoning as many random co-operators and invaders as possible.
    • Assure that your matchmaking region is set to Worldwide.
    • Try to defeat at least two enemies in each area before progressing to the next one!
    • Leave a note in the Hunter's Dream next to the bath messengers with the words "You're in the know, right?" and upvote any messages like these that you find.
    • Finally, and importantly of all, have fun!

To commemorate the greatest game of all time, the Bloodborne Discord will also be hosting a Nitro giveaway! Five lucky winners receive one month of Nitro classic. You can join us over at https://discord.gg/bloodborne as the giveaway will begin shortly. Our Weapon Design Contest is also still going on, so hop on by and check out the contestants or create one yourself!

As always, happy hunting and see you on the streets of Yharnam!

    Illusion walls and signs

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 06:48 AM PDT

What am I supposed to do when some idiot puts a message down right in front of an illusion wall and make it impossible to activate the wall? Why are people even doing this? They have to know that the same button is used to read messaged and open illusion walls but they place the message right down. In front of it so you can't.

EDIT: Thanks to everyone that replied to this message. A quick Google search told me that I'm and idiot and I got trolled pretty good.

    Strength or magic?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 11:31 AM PDT

Played DS2 a couple of times before, years ago, as a quality build with shield. Going to restart later today and I'm curious what you all think it's more OP in this game - a two handed strength build, or magic? Been playing DS1 a lot lately and obviously magic is super strong in that one. Thanks!

The Bosses of Dark Souls II Ranked from Worst to Best

    Elena vs Sister Friede battle.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 08:12 AM PDT

Classic battle between sister friede and elena the squalid queen. Who'd win the battle? It'll take place regularly in a sort of open space with only a bit of cover. Elena gets access to all her powers and sister friede for hers. Father ariendal will be present. Sister friede doesn't have to die to get her black flames.

My take is it'd be a tie of sorts. However it'll be dependent on the Environment heavily. If its something with some cover then friede may loose. But if its a open field friede may win.

Although I'm not sure if her dark flames will do much against elena and I don't think frost damage comes under magic per se because magic seems to be the weakness of elena. And don't think elena can dish out anything that'll damage friede significantly. Friede seems to be resistant to dark and has moderate protection against fire.

However, this will be a close battle. Friede will obviously have a massive speed advantage. But elena has teleportation. Along with summoning velsdat, a relatively formidable foe.

Elena is very powerful. Just because she's a shard of manus doesn't mean she hasn't been amassing power for quite a while so in comparison to manus she'd have lowered the gap between him and her quite a lot. And she can summon a person like velsdst who's no pushover. He had defeated pre buff raime who was powerful enough to destroy the strongest part of manus, nadalia. Its also highly hinted that velsdat came from shulva.

But, sister friede is no pushover. Considering that she helped to found the sable church it can be inferred she wielded significant amounts of power. And she is a ashen one so that already has her be powerful. And her church has far reaching grip. Its just that there's not much on her. So its a bit hard to gauge her power.

    So, what're your thoughts?

(This is more so a lorewise battle. So no gameplay. Though you can use gameplay to gauge strength, speed, etc. relative to the player character)

    Frigid outskirts help

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 01:44 PM PDT

So I've been trying to do an all bosses run but I can't for the life of me get through frigid outskirts consistently. I got to the cats once and almost won but then I died to the crystal shots, mostly because when I got there I was almost out of estus.

I don't really care if it's considered cheating, so are there any mods to make that zone less horrible? or maybe a way to teleport like with DSRGadget in ds remastered? Any help is greatly apreciated

I wrote a poem about Majula.

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 07:44 PM PDT

    Majula

The forlorn tree planted on the cliffside

Gazed out into the rumbling sea.

The orange sky and sunset hangs

    Over its horizon in stagnancy.

Bark secure and unbreaking, its roots breathe

Throughout Drangleic. One inches down to the

Black Gulch glittered with old souls

Eroded by toxin, and another journeys up

To that grey Bastille only known by blue,

Luminescent light. This world in rot, no pieces

Polished enough to put together, is wandered

By hollow ants among giants only

Able to wonder how things came to be.

No control over the waves that

Strike them down, or causality. They move

    Forward, turning back to Majula

When dejected to bask and mend

    In its lukewarm seaside serenity.

playin the game again reminds of me my biggest gripe with ds2

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 01:02 PM PDT

after my first 2 times beating the game i started getting into the pvp and was all about that, some may remember my oneshot videos on the arabianspliff chanel(now renamed)

my biggest gripe was the way i had to play the game everytime i wanted to make a build. this is the only title with the colossal fuck up that was soul memory. in my usual runs through the whole game to get every area and gear for the build as well as max it, i have to run past every enemy and only get the boss souls. This is a real bitch if you dont remember where every piece of loot that you need only is and what isnt, as well a certain areas where it makes it 20x harder than just not fighting. Like ironkeep with its unlimmited aggro, they need to make getting from the bonfire to inside smelter fog gate without fighting anyone an olympic sport. Its been a year i jus wanna make another build again smh

Question about the thematic order of the final bosses and difficulty tier.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 06:11 AM PDT

So, I just found out about Aldia. This is my first playthrough of DS2 and I was wondering if it was thematically fitting to fight Aldia before the DLCs or tackle the DLCs before fighting him? Is there some Ultimate boss (like Gael or Manus) or is it basically him?

Just wanna know if I should also take the DLCs difficulty into account because it felt thematically fitting to take on Gael as the final boss in DS3 and also the Ringed City was kinda beyond the recommended level, post-main story of DS3. I'm wondering if it's the same in DS2?

I don't want to end up with a situation like Gwyn in DS1 where the Abyss DLC made me way too strong for him and made the fight kinda uninteresting (kinda wish I saved scummed to fight him before Manus), unless the DS2 DLCs do some sort of level scaling...

    Thanks in advance.

    Question about multiplayer

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 11:53 AM PDT

So I played a lot of Scholar of the first sin in maybe 2015-2016 or so, and I had the best experience I had in a multiplayer system. What got me most though was it was very "honorable", most people I encountered had a system of raising our shields and bowing before a fight. People weren't really using anything cheap. It was just really cool.

I was just wondering if anyone else has this experience with the game? If so , did it stay like that? Was I alone in that?
