Posted: 11 Feb 2021 02:57 PM PST I just finished ds1 for the first time and the game is amazing when I entered kiln of the first flame my heart rate increased. Fighting gwyn was a extremely fun battle in such a visually outstanding arena as I killed gwyn I felt extremely accomplished for completing this game honestly a masterpiece [link] [comments] |
Dark Souls 1 should be played first Posted: 11 Feb 2021 04:07 PM PST Even though I prefer ds3 and bloodborne over ds1, ds1 has some differences that make it unique. The other games are without a doubt more polished and in my opinion of better quality overall but at the cost of being more streamlined in the way they approach the player. Dark souls one throws you into a world with an endless amount of paths to explore, amazing shortcuts that connect everything together, no fast travel, different ways to approach its areas(blighttown with master key etc) and generally more things that can fuck you up during your journey. Ds1 has the perfect world to teach you how to play and fuck with you as a first timer. But when someone has played ds3 or bloodborne first and has get used to their more streamlined nature it can make a lot of the good and unique things about ds1 seem like inconveniences that make the game more tedious than it should be. The combat system and bosses are also worse in my opinion so that doesn't help either. In conclusion I think ds1 should be the first souls experience so that players can appreciate its uniqueness whithout being spoiled by the other games improvements. [link] [comments] |
Lautrec golf in Firelink Shrine Posted: 11 Feb 2021 08:16 AM PST Last night, I got this absolutely glorious clip while messing around with the Black Knight Greataxe! It's my new favourite yeeting method, and hands-down the best moment I've had in Dark Souls, hahaha! Some preemptive answers:
I hope you enjoyed! [link] [comments] |
"Forever, My friend" - a personal illustration i made of Artorias and Sif. Posted: 11 Feb 2021 08:47 PM PST artwork: hey everyone :) its been a while since i posted here, here's my latest personal illustration i just finished. hope you like it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Feb 2021 06:34 PM PST I was pretty angry in blight town but this right here is some BS you telling me I'm cursed after every defeat and I gotta drag my undead ass down to new Londo Every time?? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Feb 2021 05:24 PM PST I've always noticed this just never looked for an answer until now. We all know what a firekeeper soul looks like in our inventory, the picture of it. If you remove your chest equipment and then the camera at the front of your character there is a scar over the heart area, the scar looks to be in basically the exact same shape as a firekeeper soul. Is this a coincidence? Are we the chosen undead a firekeeper ? Am I eating crayons? Is this explained somewhere? I got DS1 on release day and for some reason have never touched another Dark souls game, though I play the shit out of 1. So if there is a story to this I wouldn't know [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Feb 2021 04:22 PM PST The music at Ash Lake is awsome. Anyone able to break it down theoretically? [link] [comments] |
What was everyones reaction to the gaping dragon? Posted: 11 Feb 2021 08:58 PM PST I was silenty going "what the f**k is that?" the entire entrance animation. [link] [comments] |
Dark Souls 3 Season Pass or Scholar of the First Sin? Posted: 11 Feb 2021 11:35 AM PST Since the season pass for DS3 and DS2 are on sale, and I can only get one, which should I get? I already have the base DS3 game, so I only need the season pass. Also, is the season pass actually just all the dlc in the game? I'm on Steam for anyone who wants to know, and I have to buy before the Lunar New Year Sale ends [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Feb 2021 02:47 AM PST I just started my first sorcery build, killed Seeth and got his tail, now I want to know if there's anything specific I should do. My INT is 30, VIT 25 END 18 STR 15 (getting it up to 16 next) DEX 11 and I have the sealer mask, with the silver knight chest and legs and knight gauntlets. Logan (sadly) died as the failure things were attacking me and instead hit him [link] [comments] |
I converted to an Age of Fire'rer from an Age of Dark'er Posted: 11 Feb 2021 12:43 PM PST Every being needs soul. Souls came from the first flame. Life came from the first flame. Also, darkness isn't the "natural order" of the universe. Dark came with Light. It is either Dark, or Light. We are forever stuck with a choice. (Btw, here, Dark Souls goes completely Absurdist and Existentialist) I mean, why would we think that Kaathe tells you the truth? I hate all primordial serpents. We don't know if it is truly the age of humanity. I don't want to be just hollow in a completely dark universe. Sorry lads, I never linked the fire before, but I am a faithful knight of Lord Gwyn from now on. Change my ways. [link] [comments] |
I used to hate Dark Souls, but now I love it. Posted: 11 Feb 2021 10:04 PM PST This was one of very few games that I started off with such a poor impression, only for it to radically change later on. To articulate my thoughts, I made a video/psuedo-review of Dark Souls 1: https://youtu.be/fMx4rgi435Q Did anybody else NOT like this game first, and then changed their mind later on? (mods, if this isn't allowed, feel free to delete, but I just thought it'd be fun to discuss) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Feb 2021 12:20 AM PST Just getting into the game recently, after completing DeS on PS5. Is it just me or DS bosses are quite easier than DeS? Playing sword and shield and I totally destroyed the Taurus Demon and the Bell gargoyles. Btw, after a royalty build on DeS I decided to try the real sweat and blood souls experience and actually I found it very satisfying, jeez the backstab is OP in this game. I'm doing a quality build, any suggestion? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
First Dark souls 1 run advice? Posted: 12 Feb 2021 12:16 AM PST I just bought the trilogy and am starting the first game. My first Souls game was The demons souls remake and I loved it but I can already tell the games are very different. So far in the game the crow flew me to that place and I'm clueless on where to go. That ghost by the water seems like it will kill me instantly. I found some underground area where there was 2 things with clubs. I was able to kill one of them but I left that area since it seemed too early to be there. I found some place called the valley of drakes but left as soon as I saw that dragon. I found some skeleton graveyard and killed a few with a fire spell but my weapon practically does nothing. I was able to get the winged spear and a sword that started with a Z after pushing a giant skeleton off a cliff. I can't use these weapons anyway. I left as that area seemed too much in the early game. I have no idea where to go tho. Do I have to deal with these difficult mobs early on? Am i on the right track? Is there an area that I haven't discovered which is the "right way"? I'm trying to play it relatively blind because I felt a little bad using guides for certain parts in demons souls. DS1 Can I get Lautrec armor before Orstein and Smough? Posted: 11 Feb 2021 09:12 PM PST I've killed him but it seems I can only get the armor after they're dead [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Feb 2021 06:36 PM PST I've died to Manus like 4000 times on my onebro. I don't feel like cheesing him, I feel like I have to do it normally. I'm using red tearstone ring, bellowing dragon ring, dusk crown and +5 ascended pyromancy, but I just can't seem to get him down without getting hit. If anyone has any tips, it would be much appreciated. edit: i gottem [link] [comments] |
Is there anyone who can trade me for some humanities? Posted: 11 Feb 2021 04:12 PM PST You'll have to suggest what you want to trade it's my very first play through and I don't have quite everything [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Feb 2021 03:07 PM PST He is the Pinwheel version of an NPC invader, in that he's utterly pathetic. He invades THREE times, and every time all he manages to do is die really quickly and easily. Every time. He might literally be the weakest invader in the entire franchise including Demon's. It isn't just me having a good build either, I've done many builds, and not ONCE has he put up the slightest semblance of a fight. He has like no hp, his defense rating and all resistances must be garbage, his attack power is so bad that even my glass cannon builds haven't been particularly hurt by his attacks, he has no idea how to defend himself or dodge... Yet he keeps coming back, keeps trying, failing badly each time yet never giving up. Reminds me of a new player, in that respect. So I have to wonder, is this INTENTIONAL? He seems too weak to not be some kind of joke from Fromsoft. On that note, DS1 has the weakest NPC Invaders out of all the games. Pure black tendency black phantoms were stupid dangerous, and Invaders in DS2 and DS3 were arguably moreso than even that, with very very high stats plus infinite casts and ammo. But every DS1 Invader is a pushover... EXCEPT THAT PAINTED WORLD PYROMANCER. That guy actually puts up a fight, though still weaker than 2 and 3's. But Kirk is the weakest of the weak. Posted: 11 Feb 2021 10:29 PM PST Hi, I'm new in dark souls and I have a problem with New Londo. It's tye first of the four zones that I am exploring after Anor Londo and I am having problems with the ghosts. First of all, I saw that I did use my two curses, so I went to a place before the first stairs in the zone to get rwo more. But I akways die with the ghosts and now I only have one curse. Any advice for this zone or should I go to another zone like The Sean zone or the Nito zone? [link] [comments] |
Dark Souls (Xbox 360) not backwards compatible anymore? Posted: 12 Feb 2021 03:32 AM PST Hi, I just bought Dark Souls for the 360 as I heard mixed reviews on Dark Souls Remastered. It works just fine on the 360 but I tried starting it on my Xbox One and I wouldn't start. At first I didn't look up if it was still BC because I saw articles saying it was and people playing it. But then I searched the Xbox website and it's not on the BC list. Did they remove it from the BC program because of the remastered version? I couldn't buy the original game on Steam either... I feel like Dark souls 1 is the easiest Posted: 11 Feb 2021 10:40 AM PST Is that just me? I just feel 1 doesn't have much challenge [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Feb 2021 10:03 PM PST I had done quite a few playthroughs before, so I had a bunch of achievements. The ones I didnt have were miracles, gravelord covenant, and weapon collection. I built up a really solid Greatsword of Artorias char in NG, and farmed everything that could be, or at least I thought. Made it to ng+ with all the bases for all the boss weapons I'd be creating, cruised through ng+, but totally forgot to join gravelord until Nito was 2 hits from dead, so I just finished him thinking I can do it at ng+2 straight from firelink, then kill sif, hit anor londo and get my plat. Things went okay until I realized, I fed frampt my drake sword early on in ng. So I powered through ng+2 just to snipe a tail on ng+3. Whoops. And then, after I quit the game, I see I had the achievement without the drake sword, and I literally just did an entire ng+ cycle for nothing. Thank you Dark Souls. [link] [comments] |
Which school of magic gives access to the best options early into the game? Posted: 12 Feb 2021 01:41 AM PST Thinking about my second playthrou and I am going to go with a magic user (max the respective stat first and then vit, endurance etc). Which magic "school" will give me the most options the earlier into the game? (for example upgrading a weapon to divine or magic can be done pretty soon if you have the master key but not so to fire. One of the best miracles is given to you when you get to 25 faith while you have to save a merchant and buy from him for sorceris and great fireball can be unlocked around the mid point of the game) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Feb 2021 08:45 PM PST I've found answers for nearly all my questions. I have one left I think, knowing that nothing in this game is done without reason; an example being the big skull in ashe lake. theres even lore for that. my question: is there lore as to the reason why the white misty stuff appears on lootable corpses? like obviously it's there to signify theres something u can pick up, but is there lore for it?
