After playing Sekiro and going back to this game, I realize how slow this game is. Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:01 PM PST Not ragging on the game but when I think back on the O&S fight when I first did it in 2011, I always imagined a fast paced nightmare of a fight and dreaded doing it a second time. Yet when I got to the fight, it was like I was in bullet time. I dunno, maybe I just wanna brag about getting gud after all these years. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 02:22 PM PST Today I learned you can upgrade Estus flasks. I'm on NG+ and finished the DLC... I'm ashamed. I thought "using" fire keeper souls would upgrade them but I should've known something was wrong when I had to chug 3-4 Estus for any healing.. [link] [comments] |
Ornstein and Smough is quite humbling Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:44 PM PST I recently posted I thought blighttown was overrated in difficulty, but this fight is spot on. I haven't even gotten to the second phase in at least 10 tries and the most I got was ornstein down to half health. YouTube makes this look so easy [link] [comments] |
Blighttown Difficulty is Overstated IMO Posted: 06 Jan 2021 10:43 AM PST I went into Blighttown expecting it to be just brutal from what I've read, but it actually wasn't THAT bad. I did come prepared with purple moss , but most of my deaths were from just falling off or not knowing where to go. On the other hand, Sen's Fortress was absolutely brutal, way harder than Blighttown IMO. The narrow passages, getting knocked to my death on those bridges countless times, getting killed by the fire throwing guy before finding the bonfire, all the traps....I spent like 3 hours on this place and finished blighttown in like half that time. Then again, I'm playing the remaster and not with the horrendous frame rate issues. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Jan 2021 12:30 AM PST Fextralife.com has described BoC as a "puzzle boss." And although technically you do have to figure it out so to speak, the only puzzle is how to figure how to not get completely sucked by multiple swinging arms making you fall countless times into holes in the floor and dying. It's hard simply because it's basically lucky that you didn't get tossed like last nights pizza leftovers in the garbage. It took me 7 attempts to get the second side cut and you're telling me I have to somehow sprint back while avoiding the same arm that I cannot dodge? Give me 6 Capra demons in the same room, I'll take that over BoC. -angry bacon hollow [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 01:46 AM PST What bosses do you find yourself needing help with? I'm trying to lay down some soapstones and help people, but not sure where my best chances are. I know DSR isn't crazy popping, but I've been seeing a lot of activity and want to help people on their journeys! If you got time, seen other posts, or are stuck rn, let's join together in some jolly cooperation! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Jan 2021 01:40 AM PST Hi everyone. I know that i may be late, but i bought Dark Souls 1 to play in my xbox 360 to survive this quarantine period (yes, i got covid). But when i try to use the white soapstone, the red globe or the other online functionalities the game won't let me use them by making them opaque. I have the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and obviously i'm in human form when i try to online. Another things, that i don't know if it is relevant or not, is that i see the bloodstains that i think they come from other player online. So, are the xbox 360 servers offline? Or maybe i fail in something when i attempt to get online? Thanks everyone! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 01:47 PM PST OK so for the winter sale I decided to pick up the whole dark soles series (without DeS and BB). I'm playing DS1 right now and I just noticed something. I was playing through DS1 for the first time and after the gargoyle fight and finishing the first bell I remember how the guy back at the first bonfire said "2 bells, 1 up and 1 down", 8 also remembered that back in Firelink Shrine I saw a graveyard that seemed to go down so my smartass decided to go all the way back (I used the elevator in the cathedral) and go down. So I'm going through the catacombs right having a good time then I notice something...... I never got souls for the 2 skellies I killed behind me. So I turned around aaaaaaaan yup they back up again. At the end I found a way to be able to push all the skellies throughout the catacombs down in a hole (by positioning myself to block and counter while they are on a edge) till I get to the necromancer. All the time I was going down in my head I was (the guy said the second bell is down so it has to be down here). I came to the bottom of the catacombs and noticed the skeleton wheelie things. I just said I ain't f***ingwith that and just ran through all of them to get to the Pinwheel. So the Pinwheel boss was pretty easy for me, I needed 2 tries just because I ran out of Estus on my first one. Now this is where the story gets juicy. After the boss I start going through The Giants Tomb, thank god I noticed I do almost no damage to them so my only option was to run pass them.... In pitch black...... While not seeing anything...... In the cold...... And afraid........ Please help. With huge luck I was able to find some kind of lantern so that I don't have to run in the dark anymore, thank god. So by now I get to the mf that flipped the switch (shout out Drake) back in the catacombs but he's talking about splitting the treasure and I decide to trust him aaaaaa and he kicks me down...... I die...... I respawn at the bonfire next to him...... I kill him. A bit later I finally found the white wall (which was yellow now for some reason). I was like "Finally this has got to be it, it's a yellow curtain so it has to be a pretty difficult boss before I get to the second bell". So I try to go through and I can't enter, something about God not letting me bla bla bla. So I decided to look up on the Internet what's up and I noticed that my journey from to the this place through the catacombs was completely useless and that I had to actually go to the forest. Sorry for the long post I thought it could be an interesting/funny story about a noobs first time playing the series. [link] [comments] |
why are the knights of Catarina dressed the way they are? Posted: 06 Jan 2021 09:40 PM PST I've been staring at them for hours now without any idea of why they are in basically fat suits for knights. Why exactly is this, it doesn't seem effective for combat in anyway at all and I don't see how it would be good for defense. Is there a reason as to why they dress the way that they do? Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:44 PM PST I killed Andre and, is there any other way to get quelaag,s furysword without him? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 11:36 PM PST I've been putting my souls into endurance since level 50 thinking at some point I can wear the full elite knight armor and still be able to quick roll. I should be really looking up stuff like this as a newer player but at least I know for my second playthrough if I don't rage quit after I beat this iron golem. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 02:57 AM PST Anyone interested in playing together? Right now I am going to Blighttown, doing all bosses I have around 1k hours PC Steam [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 02:26 PM PST Took just over a year, 2 days more than my ds2 one, and only because one website has the actual documentation of Knights Honor [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 08:17 AM PST Really wanted to share this because it was just that amazing to me. I was in Anor Londo, trying to get past the most infamous part of the game. I managed to kill one of the archers, but I couldn't hit the other, so we sat there deadlocked. Unfortunately I was human, and someone invaded while I'm staring down this archer. I realize I have to move or this person will definitely kill me, the archer only might. I beeline up the path and the invader follows me, and the archer hits me one time. I make it to the top of this spire, with me and the invader get locked in this stalemate on the ledge. I use the corners to fend them off, and again decide to just make a beeline up the path. I have literally no idea where I'm going, just panicking because I can't die now, I don't know if I'll get this lucky if I do it over. I find another ledge and jump off, and of course the invader is still following me. They catch up to me in this hallway and I'm literally begging (thru switch) not to kill me. I put my shield up to brace for attack accepting death. But this fucking champion runs past me, opens the door to the bonfire room for me, lights it, bows and goes home. I was laughing and smiling like I lost it; biggest sigh of relief i ever had! I was a person who was (and still isn't) a fan of some aspects of the DS community in general. But in the grand scheme of my experience, those people have been an irrelevant minority compared to all the GREAT info and friendly help other players provide in- and out-game (googling answers has brought me here plenty of times). This one was just the icing on the cake. Don't know if the player is here or not but if you are, thank you!!!!! You're fucking awesome [link] [comments] |
Something spooky while chilling in firelink Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:04 PM PST I was minding my own business flipping through my inventory, when a prompt flashes a couple times. I only saw the final flash of the prompt, but it was like, "Disaster averted (something) death of gravelord servant" What exactly happened? And what disaster? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 02:42 AM PST Greetings veteran souls! I need help trying to get into Dark Souls. Which game would you recommend me to start with? And which DS is the best one yet? Unfortunately I started with Bloodbourne and after multiple attempts I FINALLY got to the first boss. Was one hit away from killing him before I got trampled. Needless to say I needed a new remote and TV. [link] [comments] |
Catalyst+Sword or Shield+Catalyst? Posted: 07 Jan 2021 02:42 AM PST Shield+Catalyst/Sword? (this is how I'm currently playing) Pyromancer flame+Catalyst? Just finished the game for the first time and played a bit of the NG+ (is that what you call it?) but I created a new character, this time sorcerer class, and I wanted to know what's the best combination of weapons for a sorcerer. Using a shield makes it a lot easier but if another combination is better, I'm okay with new challenges. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:57 PM PST Down to my last transient curse, after 9 attempts, the four usurpers are down. Praise the sun! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:18 PM PST After countless attempts and being in ng+ finally have that scaleless fools Moonlight sword. Why does that suck so bad lol [link] [comments] |
A kinda funny story from my first blind playthrough. Posted: 06 Jan 2021 01:35 PM PST I read a post here about sens fortress and it reminded me of my first experience with it. The thing is, I didn't know about the bonfire on the top. And I didn't know about the chain shortcut thing either. I didn't know about any of those until I watched some playthroughs AFTER my first blind run. By the time I killed the iron golem, I could no-hit speedrun sens fortress and it didn't even occure to me that this isn't how it's supposed to be because I was like "this is dark souls, its supposed to be hard". I'm dumb. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 09:36 PM PST Assuming a character of 40/40 Strength and Dexterity, what are the best quality weapons for late game? I'm playing on NG+ and plan on heading deeper and deeper into New Game and the dexterity based strategies I like using are no longer worth it. I keep dying in PVP to people wielding heavier weapons with more armor. I do use pyromancy, but so far I have not invested any points in intelligence or faith. I do not like using shields and tend to value mobility (using the dark grain ring and wearing light armor). Stamina cost is not really an issue, but weight might be. I like weapons with fast R1s and have been craving a weapon that delivers good backstabs. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2021 10:56 AM PST Happy New Years everybody and I wanted to say thank you to this Reddit for really helping me get invested in the Souls series. I have now beaten the whole trilogy. Have done SL1 runs, done so many builds and have had some of the best experiences in gaming and if it wasn't for how passionate and nice this subreddit, and other souls subreddits were I don't know if I would have even finished the trilogy and I definitely would of just moved on and never done the SL1 runs and the different builds and such so thank you and I hope everyone is enjoying the series as much as me! Have a nice day/night. [link] [comments] |
