- After being so used to Dark Souls 3, coming back to Dark Souls 2 is like a mix of absolute rage and childish wonder
- Starting my Dark Souls journey today with this game!
- Am i doing something too much right?

| Posted: 07 Jan 2021 08:23 AM PST I forgot how much i liked 2h weapon parrying Nd being purely lefthanded. Was fun as hell. Only thing i really dislike are the hitboxes being wonky kinda and the rolling iframes being tied to a stat. That all being said, i've fallen in love again, and it makes me realize how much less of a game Dark Souls 3 is in the vein of additions. I mean, sure. Dark Souls 3 is faster and spearheaded by Miyazaki. But the work and flavor put into the mechanics of Dark Souls 2 is just absolutely amazing. Power stancing, parrying while 2 handed, being an absolute powerhousechadicus prime with two greatswords, the awesome new riposte animations, everything is just so much fun to come back to, and it makes me wish for more Souls games that are done by the same team under another director. Dark Souls 2 is still a blast, and i'm going to gush any chance i get over how much i missed it. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Jan 2021 01:56 AM PST I came from dark souls 3 where every boss killed me at least a dozen of times, and i really liked the challenge so i decide to buy dark souls 2. I am doing a dex build bc it what i had in ds3, i found a blacksteel katana that has s in dex so i upgraded it. i die a lot of times to normal enemies but most bosses i do them first try wirhout even using half my estus. the most challenging boss for now ( completed only base game) was the king-giant you find in the memories bc of the stupid catapult shot erasing all my health. Posted: 07 Jan 2021 04:41 AM PST Basically every bonfire after the door with the petrified girl blocking it crashes my game, and I end up loosing the save file. Since I never saw anyone talking about this glitch, I'm pretty sure no one knows how to fix it, so I already accepted the fact that I will need to beat DS2 with that glitch. I'm thinking of resting in the Majula bonfire, go to shaded woods, kill every enemy, and also ignore some of them and go back to Majula. I will keep doing that until the enemies stop respawning, so that I can explore the place properly, I'm not really into rushing and leaving a lot of items behind. Now I need help, where can I buy a lot of Homeward Bones and Lifegems? Which build should I probably use? Are sorceries viable? Any tip will be of great help. [link] [comments] |

But when I actually played it it became one of my favorite games! Everything is just so good about it to me. I convinced my friend to get it and he's not even playing it (he hasn't even found the first boss yet) because it's a "terrible game" according to critics and it sort of just feels like everybody just searches for things to nitpick about in this game. But I know there'll be situations where I'd really benefit from a backup weapon that can backstab. If I don't plan to invest much in strength or dexterity, what are my options for this? Like location, items and what have yous? Is it even possible to play the main story then the DLC? | Posted: 07 Jan 2021 10:44 AM PST I'm a ds1/r vet and I'm starting to get bored with it's pvp now and I'd like to move on to ds2. I've played a bit of the pve but i quit because i was tired of the hordes of pve enemys thrown at me. I'm willing to give it another shot since I'm bored af and have a newbie friend who gonna co op with me. I couldn't care less about the pve, I'm only playing this game for the pvp. I only reached the executioner chariot before i rage quit so i dont have a clue about a thing in this game. I need someone to make me a fully optimized pvp build meant for invasions as well as duels. I don't care about the fashion. I just wanna be as sweaty as possible from the tactics i use to the gear to the very last point of defence and ar. This is how far i got before i realized i couldnt go any farther without asking for help: https://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls2/86187 I want the build to be sl150, be fully optimized, and have a healing spell or 2 since i heard invaders cant heal without them. Again, fashion isn't a priority, only optimization. Lastly (optional): I'll do most of the pvp tech research by myself although I would like to know a few basic tactics which are vital to protecting myself from an average invader when I'm co oping. | Posted: 07 Jan 2021 10:43 AM PST The other day I said I hated the run to and fight with chariot most of all. I had forgotten how much I hate the base area of eleum loyce. I like the idea of finding the loyce knights and the eye of the priestess, and I like that it's a big level, but holy fuck every single enemy in this place is SO annoying to fight. The poise. The hitboxes. The skinny fucking bodies that will slip out of your hitbox while they're winding up for a 360 spin or lumberjack chop with their 3mm diameter spear or rapier. FFS it feels like they heard all of people's gripes about the mobs and made sure to lean on every single element people hate and cram it into these enemies. I'm not even at the hedgehogs yet 😫 I'm just going to pancake them with every big stick I have, as far as i can until my shit is about to break, then feather and repeat until they despawn. I had tried sprinting past to change things up a bit, but after a bit they just kept body blocking me... such cheap motherfuckers, they have every advantage, they don't need to play dirty too >:( [link] [comments] |

I thought the ascetic would make it ng+ and get me the old dead one soul... i used it once, defeated boss again, and now got two soul of rotten in inventory. am I doing it wrong?
