| Why do so many players seem to dismiss/dislike DS2? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 09:42 AM PST New DS2 player here. Started this week and I've played about 10 hours give or take, just finished with Skeleton Lords. But I'm having a blast and I'm wondering why this game always seems to be considered the one the community doesn't like? I've played most of the other Soulsborne games. Started with DS3, then Bloodborne, and now I'm playing DS2 and DSR. And honestly I'm having way more fun with 2 than 1. Like 1 is good, but i enjoy the movement and combat mechanics of 2 a lot more. I'll admit boss design can be a bit weaker than 1 or 3, but it's a really fun game for me and I'm really enjoying exploring. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Jan 2021 10:35 AM PST I mean, that area is so stinky, that it feels like house cleaning day (ok my house is not stinky, haha)... but I feel like doing anything else but turn on the console and get trough that damn level. I ended up going back to iron keep and farmed everything untill they stopped respawning (it's pretty easy if you have a bow and just shoot all the idiots from distance, one by one). I even went back to the smelter fight place, to fight the Pursuer, then went to Lost Bastille and Things Betwixt. I ended up pursuing the Pursuer, only to not go into the Gutter. Not because I ended up fighting the Royal Rat Vanguard when I was underleveled, beated the Forlorn and only had to step in the wrong place and lose 40k souls. Or maybe because of it. But for some reason, the Gutter brings me some painful and full of spite memories. Hehe... [link] [comments] |

Did pretty much everything you can do, but there was always something i thought i just couldn't do, that i was not good enough. Getting every single achievement. Before i didn't really care about them, but now, i want to git gud. I'm currently working on getting all magic spells, and looks like ng+++ for me. Wish me luck! | Posted: 11 Jan 2021 11:58 AM PST https://i.imgur.com/4kCMzd4.png Hardest parts and notes for DS2 achievements: 1) I remember spending a long time working on the Darklurker world and boss fight. Oh the humanities I spent! 2) Fume Knight was also a very challenging fight. Especially when you don't get all the smelter wedges.... nuff' said. I also couldn't figure out which partial soul of Nadia I was missing for quite a while. 3) The only boss fight I did not do in all 5 games was the 2 tigers in the DLC snow world in 2. The route to the boss was too annoying and I couldn't make headway with a strategy that worked. The second tiger being in the fight just didn't give me any room to breathe. 4) Final Boss of DS2 has got to be the easiest of the 3 games. 5) The Rotten is so easy with pyromancy that you can use ascetics over and over and get hundreds of thousands of souls per kill to get past the Shrine of Winter. | Main Menu Theme of DS2 give me goosebumps! Posted: 11 Jan 2021 01:29 PM PST I recently started playing DS2 (after playing 1 and 3), and I have been a good experience, but there is one thing in particular that marks me in this game more than anything else: the main menu theme. The vocal at the beginning starts with a somber way and then the tone decays leaving it even more ghastly, that part always gives me chills, it is as if it played I echoed inside my head, it is a crazy thing xd. I'm just starting a new build after not having played in a couple years, and I mostly did PvP the years I played... plus, all of my irl friends who play souls do so on console. My legs hurt from walking up and down stairs at work, and I'm staying inside all day today. May as well do something fun with my time. | Posted: 11 Jan 2021 04:09 AM PST As someone who has already played and completed ds1 multiple times, I am finding ds2 bosses to be quite easy. I have killed most of them on my first try. In fact, most of the areas are tougher than the boss itself. Players who are playing ds2 as their first game, how are you finding the bosses??? [link] [comments] |

| Feeling guilty about summoning npcs Posted: 10 Jan 2021 10:09 PM PST The other day I used the npcs to help defeat the blue smelter demon, The Gank Squad, and Lud and Zallen for the first time. I gave in when my pride says it doesn't count. To be clear I've failed countless times with and without them and I'm glad to see them all defeated but damn I wanted to do them in myself but the raging was to much. Im a little happy that I defeated Sir Alonne on my second attempt without the summons( I used them to reach the fog wall then BC out) I white knuckled the fight, it was really sloppy. Alot of me backing off trying to estus and eating hits. I couldn't even attack him the way I wanted (L1 x2 power stance black steal katanas or Alonne great bow at range) I ended up using the L2 once every time I had a chance. Great fight still. | Posted: 11 Jan 2021 02:08 PM PST So I'm on SOTFS edition and trying to farm for the shadow set. I haven't beaten the game yet (this is my first playthrough) but I'm well past all of the areas that have shadows, and I've farmed all of them to the point they don't respawn. I have multiple bonfire ascetics, and I'm thinking of using one in no man's wharf to farm the two shadows there, but I wanted to know from people who are more experienced if that's a good idea or not. If anyone has tips for me on how to get this done easier please let me know! I'm out of copper coins and I am wearing prisoner's tatters to increase item discovery, but so far only have gotten one piece of the set, the leggings. [link] [comments] |

I will write a post about my experience when I finish, but I just wanted to quickly thank a Phantom. So thank you, whoever "Shira, the lost" is. We just beat Burnt Ivory King, and it was awesome.
