/r/DarkSouls2 - Modding Monday. Posted: 16 Aug 2020 11:14 PM PDT Welcome to the weekly Dark Souls mod announcement and discussion thread! Beware! Use of mods whilst connected to the internet can cause you to get banned from online play! For more information, or to continue the discussion visit /r/ModSouls Using mods (PC only!) to enhance or add new content to the Souls games is great fun! It is important, however, to understand that mods are against From's EULA/ToS, so there is a great risk of being banned when using them due to From's anti-cheat--which is deployed in most versions of the Souls games. Versions of the games where modding is safe due to no anti-cheat: Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition Versions of the games where modding carries a very high risk of being banned: Dark Souls: Remastered Dark Souls II Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Dark Souls III Our recommendations for safe modding *This advice is intended for first-time or relatively inexperienced modders who want to get into modding without risking a ban on their main Steam account. Basic Steps: Make a separate Steam account Use Steam's Family Sharing feature to provide your new account with access to your main Steam account's game library. Install games to be used with the new account in a separate directory. Once you've found your mods be sure to read (and follow) the mod author's instructions carefully prior to installation. Set Steam to "off line" mode. Install the mods and perform any necessary setup. Enjoy the fun and interesting experiences offered by mods! Be sure to remove all file components of the mod before going back online!Helpful Information for New Users Be sure to check the /r/DarkSouls2/wiki page, where you can find community-created tips and research threads. Posted: 17 Aug 2020 03:31 AM PDT https://i.imgur.com/juixMgb.jpg Drawing all ninety-some bosses of the three Dark Souls games, about 35 done now \o/ I've always liked this boss; the dramatic intro, the fight itself, the lore. He's not super hard or anything but you'll also have to pay attention enough to not fall into that hole. 57 bosses to go! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:29 AM PDT Recently I've been interested in completing the game faster and faster and I've reached the point where I can kill Nashandra in 2h 24min, nothing really impressive, though I'm kinda proud. Anyway, that seems to be some sort of limit to where my skills let me get to, I've only got near that time so far and I'm wondering wether it's a problem in my pathing/sequence of which I progress or if I should simply git gud and do stuff mechanically faster. Sorry if this doesn't really fit the subreddit, though I thought it'd be cool to share this and I'd like to see some ""speedrun"" attempts of fellow Hollows! [link] [comments] |

How long did it take you to Platinum (SotFS)? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:21 PM PDT I just got the platinum last night (woot!), and I am somewhat embarrassed with how many hours it took me. Not counting my false start character, my platinum took over 500 hours. I went to NG++ to avoid the PvP trophies. I have platinums for Bloodborne, DSR, Sekiro and now this. While I don't have time records for any of the other games, I found this to be the most time consuming by far. I went the Hex route and seemed to flow pretty well. I had a lot of trouble with Alonne, I generally struggled with the Pursuer (being a Caster, I didn't dial in the parry all that well, by my NG++ I found I had to get better with them, but struggled in the NG and NG+), Darklurker, and a few other's but not 500 hours worth! Anyway, I just wanted to celebrate that I got the platinum. Felt good to get Lucatiel and Benhart last night. Had a bit of a scare when Benhart didn't hand over the goods right away, but I went in the other dream and had him help out, and that seemed to work. I know I beat 3 bosses with him (Magus, Looking Glass Knight and Throne of Want). But it took going to beat the Giant Lord. Thanks for reading folks. Wish me luck on DS3. Edit: Just wanted to add that the DLCs took me FOREVER. Probably about half of the time in game was DLC. Also, super stoked for Demon's Souls! [link] [comments] |
Why is the last giant so easy? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 05:05 AM PDT Was I over leveled? I was sl18 and had a +2 rapier. He only hit me once and I just kept stabbing his legs until he fell over and then I easily killed him from there. It took quite a while to get to just the first boss and the area before was much harder than the boss itself and it was pretty underwhelming. Other than that though I'm enjoying the game so far! Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:16 PM PDT THe title says it all, I was swinging my weapon around and accedentally killed her. How do I level up Now? [link] [comments] |
I did it! I beat the game (DLC included) with dual Caestus Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:00 AM PDT It was hard, I wanted to quit multiple times, I never wanna step foot in Frozen Eleum Loyce again, I never want to hear the name Sir Alonne again but I soldiered through some straight up punishing stuff and I did that all without a shield, I mean, I did use a bow a few times just to split up groups and pull aggro from a distance but otherwise I did it all without blocking and without parrying, and now begins the Sunlight Medal grind and the Belfry Sol massacre before I do it all again. Can a Sotfs player and Vanilla player co-op together? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:14 PM PDT Me and my buddy are wanting to do some jolly co-op and so while I waited for him to reach my sm tier range I thought I'd make sure we could actually play together as he's playing Vanilla and I'm playing Sotfs. We're both on pc but i haven't found anything on any wiki saying whether we can or can't play together. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:09 AM PDT It's my first play through. Is it possible to have heavy armor and be below 70%. I have a lot of cool looking armor and some good great shields but I cant role very well. Am I supposed to just take the hits if I use it? [link] [comments] |
How do people not like this game ? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:14 AM PDT Just kidding :) Do you prefer int or faith builds for pvp ? So far I've tried int pyromancy and crystal weapon buffs with blue flame. Is sunlight blade or dark dmg better generally? [link] [comments] |
Loving DS2! Just a little question... Posted: 17 Aug 2020 09:06 AM PDT Hey, new to DS2 but I have played and virtually mastered all the other games (excepting demon's souls). I've never played DS2 and wanted a good, thorough challenge so I committed to a Champion's cov run for my first playthrough, what a tremendously difficult ride it has been! I'm very much enjoying the game so far, I'm up to the first bonfire in Sinner's Rise. Just one problem... How does rolling work in this game? I heard there's a stat for maximising I-frames but I'm not sure, and is there a fast rolling threshold depending on weight similar to DS3? Plus I'd appreciate some advice on some of the little quirks and important mechanics that go unexplained, thanks and stay safe friends! [link] [comments] |
Can NG and NG+ players pvp with each other? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:48 AM PDT Assuming they are of course at the same SM tier. Tried searching on google and didn't find a clear answer. I wanna go into NG+ but don't wanna lose my sweet iron keep pvp. I'll be using agape, will I be able to play with the same players I am now? [link] [comments] |
Can't launch DS2 on my TV as a second monitor. Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:30 AM PDT When I launch the game with my TV as my primary display, the game has no sound and once I click continue the game freezes. If I launch the game on my PC first, then connect the TV it works momentarily before disconecting entirely. I've tried flawless widescreen to play it in borderless mode but then the game works with no sound. Not sure what else to do, any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks [link] [comments] |
Questions regarding magic builds Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:29 AM PDT sorry if these are dumb questions, newbie here I'm going for a magic build, but no matter how much I level my intelligence or faith my spells are seemingly doing the same damage. I also can't cast the "heal" miracle, despite having met the requirements and I'm having trouble preventing myself from running out of spells If anyone can help me out here that'd be great, or if anyone has advice for me in general about this game that'd also be super helpful💕 [link] [comments] |
What do you guys think about this video? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:58 PM PDT I think he made the game look 1000% worse than it actually is. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:52 PM PDT Im using a +10 claymore and ive upped my strength to 50 and i figured that i would level dex now for increased damage but ive noticed that the scaling with dex sucks even though my dex is low (its in 20s i think) why is that? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:08 PM PDT I missed it on NG and NG+, and don't want to use every ascetic for one helmet. My soul memory is 7,673,050. [link] [comments] |
Is 1.49m SM too low to be summoned for Iron Passage? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:48 PM PDT I've had the sign there for a good 40 minutes without being summoned. I've verified that I'm not soft-banned. My current character is at 1.49m SM and SL140, which I think is already very high even for the DLC; I use 50 vigour on all my builds to offset 75% health from ring of binding. Nevertheless, when I look at activity within my SM range Iron Passage seems to be a bit empty. Is 1.49m SM too low for it? [link] [comments] |
Is there any reason to not consume the giant souls after defeating vendrick? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:37 PM PDT |
I am hollowed to the very core Posted: 16 Aug 2020 10:46 PM PDT After the giant spider boss I had 70m and when I got to the primal bonfire I was killed by one of the tiny spiders and died and when going back to retrieve them my cat bumped my hand and I fell off a spider web and died [link] [comments] |
