| So this happened today and restored my humanity(pun not intended) Posted: 19 Aug 2020 07:27 AM PDT Was on my caestus only run(beat the main game, trying the dlcs atm) and I was fighting Aava. Some bad rolls, the fact that I didn't fight him in ages and boom all my heals were gone while he had like a bar of health. I misjudged my roll yet again and was about to die as Aava would hit me but literally the slight second before the attack landed, one of my messeges got rated, healing me enough to tank the hit and kill him.. Like what are the freaking chances! People! Leave as many messages as you can! I was also wondering if ya'll have a y similar clutch moments you would like to share [link] [comments] |

I went for the 2nd (killshot), but it was also attacking my mate. I ended up full on killing my friend with it. But the Question is: Where's my token of spite then? Update: He's dead. | Roleplaying as a summonable NPC Posted: 19 Aug 2020 12:35 PM PDT I've made a pirate-themed build with the melu scimitar, work hook, and appropriate fashion armour. I've been doing co-op as a white (not sunbro) phantom in Wharf, and I've tried to act as an NPC summon as much as possible: an RP name (used the steam glitch to make my name beyond usual lengths), my sign is in a location that'd make sense for an NPC summon, and I'll stick to the host much like NPC phantoms do. Although my sample size is small, it does seem to make a difference from my usual sunbro coop: so far hosts have been emoting much less with me, I haven't been met with an emote upon being summoned which is rare on my sunbros. I wonder if the NPC roleplay is actually convincing, as I have helped some players who were obviously new to DS2 (such as walking straight past the bell in wharf). Maybe I'll be able to spawn a legend about that awesome 'First Mate Lisabeth' NPC summon in wharf! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Aug 2020 05:38 AM PDT After 2 and a half playthroughs I finally got my Platinum trophy, I didnt do it exclusively with dual Caestus because I dabbled with powerstanced dual Rapiers about halfway through to great success (still prefer punching shit to death and stunlocking npc phantoms) and I rushed through the NG+ and NG+2 runs, but a plat is a plat, I think the hate this game gets is unfair, the bosses are a bit of a crapshoot and there are some really shitty parts like the NPC phantoms in the Majula Pit and that jerkwad with the hammer outside Drangleic Castle but the DLC more than makes up for it and there are some bosses in the base game that are actually pretty fun and challenging, thanks for all the help guys, and don't give up, skeleton! | Can I just give props to twin blade Posted: 19 Aug 2020 02:45 PM PDT I normally used spear and sword, always with shield. I found this handy dandy weapon, Red twin blade or something. It melts everything. It's like, where have you been all my life moment. I smashed the spider boss without it. All her spider minions died too. It was glorious. | Posted: 19 Aug 2020 09:51 AM PDT It's done! I beat Dark Souls 2 at SL1. It wasn't that bad, but it was definitely harder than my fat roll only run. Struggled with the Throne Duo and Nashandra(all of her attacks actually oneshot me). I couldn't get the full peasant set, so I only had the ladle and peasant gloves boosting my adp, which probably made things harder, but I barely noticed a difference in I-frames. I wish I could edit the title! Had a fucking brain loss moment. The majority of them spawn next to a damn ledge with a huge drop off, they're hard as fuckin t rex turds to actually hit them most the time, and on top of those they despawn sooo goddamn fast. The 4 that spawn in dragon sanctum in the room with the switch on the floor to make the contraption move, I had to reload the area so many times lmao. I didnt remember them being this fucking illusive in ds2, but maaaaan they are the bane of my existence. About done with my ng+ run lol so the mats arent that big of a deal, but i swear these little fucks are so hard to get. Also some despawn WAY faster than others..which is just awful. Were they always this aids to deal with or did my memory block that out haha. Edit - CRYSTAL LIZARD I MEAN! Not brightbug. Idk why i got them confused haha. [link] [comments] |

| After 20 hours of pain I finally got it Posted: 19 Aug 2020 09:41 AM PDT I finally beat dark souls 2 on soul level 1. And after this I wanted to make a review of the game. This game is amaizing but it's kinda unfair sometimes. Being hit while rolling it's something that angers me and on this playthrough I got killed like that a lot, specially against Ava the king's pet, that's a roll catching God. I am aware that ADP helps a lot in these but without a way to level it up a lot it is quiet difficult, but it isn't as difficult as it might seem. I love that this game lets you upgrade your stats with armour and shields, on a normal playthrough it doesn't make much difference but on a lvl 1 playthrough it's essential, the ones which saved me was: the prisoners ring, sacrum shield, dex and strength ring, third dragon ring, cake's helm, the work hook, handmaid's ladle and most importantly peasant set. There's no reason to not grabe this items. Now to the bosses. The first half of the game it's not that though, just skip smelter deamon and you'll be fine. But the end game was something else, let's start with the dlc. Fume knight and the dragon you just to be very focused and play passively, one mistake and more than half of your health is gone, same with vendrick, with him just stay behind him and don't mess up, he will one shot you, but with the cowers ring he will do 1/3 of your health bar. The ivory king you need to have the large club to heavy attack his knights. And wait till all the doors are close to eliminate every single one, the ivory himself isn't that bad, grab the rapier and dodge to the left. Now watcher and defender are something else, might get my vote for the hardest fight in this challenge, gowers ring is obligatory. And play passively. Nashandra isn't that bad, just bait the laser, and I don't remember the name of the true finally boss, just stay away and attack when you have the chance, they are not as bad as watcher and defender. | Posted: 19 Aug 2020 02:32 PM PDT While I was fighting the Bell Gargoyles my PC crashed and I lost my 30-hour character so I had to delete it and made a new one, but I can't make a copy of my save file as when I try to, it just gets stuck at 12%. I tried SpeedSouls and makeing a zip-file but it doesn't work either. I checked integrity of the game files but it didn't help. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Aug 2020 10:42 AM PDT https://imgur.com/gallery/wNJULme Just got all achievements in DS 2, the last ones being the Master of Pyromancy and Master of Miracles because I had to buy them from Wellager in NG++ I had so much fun playing this game (expect for Iron Keep gankers, shrine of amana, frigid outskirts, etc.) and getting the achievements. I just love how FromSoftware respect completionists like myself, they could simply add an achievement that requires you to finish the game on NG+7 or something like that, but they respect the time of the player and know achievements are supposed to be achievements, and not grind. It was the same with DS1 The only remaining FromSoftware game on PC that I haven't played it yet is DS3, so I'm gonna do it as soon as I can. Special thanks to u/godcardkid for helping me out with sunlight medals, it was a lot of fun and f u "bruh 2" for constantly invading us while we were getting the medals lol [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Aug 2020 01:58 PM PDT My ps4 recently packed in and while I'm waiting for parts to arrive to try and fix it ithought I'd load up vanilla ds2 on the PS3, i decided to try something different to my pancake bud that I normally run and went sorcerer to hexer and ive been really enjoying it, which surprised me I'm not sure where to go weapon wise for it though, I've specced up enough to use the rapier for now and got it to +10 but feeling like a change, so what would your recommendations be? Also fashion souls wise what armour goes with the hexers good that you like thats nice and light? I'm currently running with idols charm +1, sunset staff +4, rapier +10 and gear wise I've got hexers hood and tseldora trousers (drop from a spider thing in brightstone, I didn't commit a sin) [link] [comments] |

But the revive thing is what makes me upset everytime I fight them. It's already a hard fight, the revive mechanic is unneccessary.
