Imagine if you could fight memory vendrick

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 04:51 AM PDT

It would possibly be -despite the horrible area- one of the best boss fights in the game imo. Imagine fighting him at the end of his prime, probably 100 times stronger than the decrepit hollow state you face.

You could rid him of his guilt by showing him the monarch that follows him.

What is the hardest boss in DS2 for you?

I’ve Been Outplayed In DS2 By My SO. Darklurker, Elana and Sinh Dead

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 12:21 PM PDT

I took pride in my partner playing Dark Souls 3 after recommending it to him. He had a bit of challenge to finding the rhythm of the game, but he got it.

We pushed through DS3 doing jolly cooperation. I said he should do the Nameless King solo. It took him a few attempts but he got it. I was proud of him.

He then took on DS2 and pushed through it without any major issues. He killed Dark Lurker in four attempts as melee build.

Now he defeated Elana in three attempts and Sinh in two. It took me so many more attempts :(

He has def gotten gud. I'm proud of him

    I beat Iron Keep!!

    Posted: 04 Jun 2020 08:28 PM PDT

Thank god!! I'm so hyped. It took me about five hours today but i finally slogged my way through that horrible hellscape, by the skin of my teeth and the string of my bow.

    Hurrah for confidence!

Edit: yes, i am aware that five hours is a long time. I died a lot.

    Finally killed the DarkLurker!!

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 12:06 PM PDT

I finally killed him! That jerk got so many effigies from me he could set up a shop! I know he is optional, but currently using a cleric build and really wanted the chime. When I finally noticed how many effigies I was using killing him was starting to look pretty tempting...

    How do Covenants work?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 07:09 AM PDT

So I have just gotten the Blue covenant and the covenant of champions. Do I need to have the blue covenant active for blue sentinels to come or do I only need to have the ring equipped? Do I need to have the covenant of champions active for enemies to become harder or are enemies still stronger after I joined another covenant? Ty for any help

Just beat Dark souls 2 for the first time

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 05:35 AM PDT

Not to long ago I made a post of how much I hated this game and despise it not giving it a chance, I meant it at the time... fast forward 1 week and here I am watching the credits unfold. What an amazing game, was it as good as dark souls 1? No it's not but was a really good game and glad that I didn't quit it.

I only have little issues with it and that is

Too many boss fights and half of them were really bad

Terrible enemy placement, I felt like I was getting ganged up by 12 enemies all at once.

Great game and happy that I played it.

Moving onto dark souls 3 now is there anything I should know about that before I jump in.

    Thank you FromSoftware

Items not where they used to be?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 01:10 PM PDT

I was looking at a guide because i was lost and noticed that there were estus shards in cardinal tower. I got to the second room above the stair and opened the chest and didn't get the shard.

Really wanted to beat the game a second time but I guess Looking Glass Knight is too hard for me.

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 09:03 AM PDT

Been stuck on him for 2 days now. Lost interest in the game as a whole. He's tanky as fuck, summons every 2 minutes, the phantoms are ridiculously aggressive, his damage output is mad - I just don't see the point anymore. I'm wasting my time.

Finally completed the Trilogy today. What a ride!

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 01:59 AM PDT

The lockdown gave me time to go back and replay the trilogy.

Started with DS Remastered, followed by DS3 for the lore continuity. Spent a lot of hours collecting the covent medals.

DS2 took the longest as I was stuck on Fume knight on NG+ for 4 days. almost uninstalled a couple of times. Got through him solo yesterday. then it was just a matter of getting through Sir Alonne, farming Sunlight medals and rushing through NG+2.

Managed to unlock all achievements today :)

Just wanted to thank the Reddit community for all the help. R/Summonsign was invaluable in completing a couple of achievements.

Help with Desert sorceress grab attack.

    Posted: 04 Jun 2020 08:14 PM PDT

For some reason I cannot escape their grab attacks. I get caught in it everytime. Is there a way to escape?

In their armor description it says men fall for their looks a lot.

Ppppfffff...... that's not me. Its just accidental.

    Stats Tips

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 08:03 AM PDT

Hi, I'm making a new character in SotFS who's going to be just a super simple dude with a Greatsword. Was wondering what the point of diminishing returns for Strength would be for this weapon - about when should I stop putting points into Strength?

Scholar of The First Sin Is Both Superior And Inferior To The Original DS2

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 01:28 AM PDT

Why is it superior? Because Fromsoftware added new content such as the Forlorn invader and their gear. An excellent addition to an already amazing game. Why is this version inferior as well though? Because of the new enemy placements. I don't mind a couple more enemies in certain areas, but what they've also done was swap some around. I think enemies added to different areas such as the Pursuer showing up in a place I won't spoil (find out for yourself ;D) is sweet. My problem is that there's areas that have been made easier. One example is the Shaded Ruins. In Scholar of The First Sin, it feels empty, with a couple of the lion warriors replaced by ghosts who are easily avoidable. The giant creature with the petrifying ability? Gone and has been moved elsewhere. Then there's the lower part of Sinner's Rise (the water way) where another unnecessary enemy swap happened. See for yourself. Why did they make this change? It's so odd. If you want the new Forlorn stuff, but with the original enemy placements, you're out of luck as there's no option to revert it back to how it was in the original Dark Souls 2. There was no need to swap the enemies around. Just add enemies to other areas and there. Another weird choice was changing item and NPC placements. Swapped item placements I've seen so far is in The Lost Bastille. They could have been well placed, but currently it's odd and makes the place easier. As for NPC placement in this version, I've only seen one NPC's position changed. Not sure how the rest are like though, but so far it's fine. What do you think? Do you find SoTFS superior, inferior, or both?
