| Posted: 04 Jun 2020 08:28 AM PDT Yes! It has flaws! The majority of games have flaws and DS2 isn't the best sequel we've seen in a video game series. I just think it receives too much unnecessary hate. I strongly disliked the hitbox and the world design, but the matchmaking was great and the lore was super interesting and original. Unlike DS3 which I couldn't get into because everything felt like a throwback to DS1. It also hands down, had some of the best DLCs. Honestly very annoying and unfair to see people trashing this game when it's no where as bad as they are describing it, it's objectively a great, albeit, flawed game. If you disagree, I'd love to hear why. I didn't know where to post this, it would be taken down on r/games, at the same time people might be biased as this is the official sub for DS2. | Hack item on PS4 broke my game. Posted: 04 Jun 2020 10:13 AM PDT Hey everyone, I just started playing DS2 and have been loving it so far. Sadly at the start of the game at the cardinal tower bonfire I was summoned by a player named "dead mans team" He was running around naked and there was an item on the ground that I so innocently picked up. The item was mundane binoculars +15. Which seemed already pretty weird to me. So I went over to my bag to see what this item was and my game just crashes! Now every time I try to open my bag I get the error CE-34878-0. This save file seems to sadly be corrupted by this player and I hope I can warn other players. Greetings, Asura [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 04 Jun 2020 02:02 AM PDT Before I start, I've been playing the DS series around when 1 came out so I'm extremely with the series beating the games a collective probably 50 times, well mostly 1 and 3. I've came back to DS2 after playing 1 and 3 (like a dark souls month marathon) and had am having a blast after not playing the souls games for like 2 years. So now it was finally time I tackle DS2 which I think is criminally underrated imo so this post isn't hate just my opinion. You know I'm just having fun I made a speedy dex build and a dual caestus build but didn't bother playing ng+ on both as I just wanted to move on to a new build. Wellllllp I'm in ng+ now and WHAT IS THIS!?! I knew the existence of added red phantom enemies in ng+ in areas where the wasn't an enemy previously but I think it's just straight overkill at this point. I'm literary killing a red phantom with 4 different enemies also chasing me and mind you, red phantoms have the poise of full Havel with ring of giant and basically 2x the health of the normal variant of that enemy. I actually really like the addition of red phantoms, it's so intimidating seeing them from a far but just so overwhelming with the spots fromsoft puts them in. | Gameplay is frustrating on Keyboard and Mouse. Posted: 04 Jun 2020 12:09 PM PDT I finished DS1 on PC a few months ago and I'm trying to get into DSii but the combat and the controls aren't responsive enough. In another game it would be something you could ignore, but here it fucks up my timing, and blocks and jumps, it's virtually unplayable for me. Anyone got any tips or mods that'll smooth things out for me? I really don't want to give up on this. I disabled double click for attack but even that doesn't improve anything. And also life gems?! Ive run out and it's so difficult to find them. And the 1 estus is a huge bummer. I went into this blind when I really shouldn't have. [link] [comments] |

I managed to put everything just like I had in ds3 but I got some problems. It seems like I cant use all my mouse buttons is there a way to use them? When use up all my stamina and my stamina recovers, I cant use sprint until it is fully recovered again. Is that normal? And when it is fully recovered I get a little delay until my character starts to sprint again. Can anyone help me with that? [link] [comments] |

| Crystal Lizard in Harvest Valley Posted: 04 Jun 2020 10:09 AM PDT After the second bonfire in Harvest Valley, there are three Crystal Lizards in the next area with the holes in the ground. Got those without problem. According to every source, there is another Crystal Lizard after you go through the next little area to the left with four sickle-wielding undead, up through the path on the higher level, and then all the way to the left near a large hole that opens up into the poisonous gas. It's just not there. I even cleared out that area repeatedly just to make sure that I could make a clean, direct run to that spot without interruption. Still not there. Am I missing something? It was a real struggle at first, I almost quit when I couldn't beat the first hyde knight in the forest of the fallen giants. | Just some observations from my first play throughs Posted: 04 Jun 2020 06:50 AM PDT So I beat DSR and got the platinum. I'm now working my way through DS2. Just some things I noticed 1). What a great community! I enjoy being able to summary other players to help with boss fights or putting my sign down to help out. Everyone one I have summoned has been awesome. I was having issues with Smelter Demon the other night and the person I summoned used ranged attacks to aggro the demon so It focused on them and I could attack it with melee. 2) These two so far are very different games. I liked DSR better. Seems like in this one they just throw random, meaningless and easy bosses here and there. The fights in DSR seem more memorable and important. I don't like how a bunch of areas are just a group of enemies to make it hard. The first seemed to be more focused on have 1 tough enemy to take on, not being swarmed by 4-5 of them. 3) I like the leveling system of the first game better. Both for the player and the bonfires. I liked using humanity to kindle the ones I felt I needed more flasks at vs just finding shards and bone dust or whatever it is. Tldr: Like the games and the community, but DS2 so far is a let down compared to DSR imho [link] [comments] |
