Invaded by some dude called Hitler - question for the mods at the end

    Posted: 26 May 2020 12:11 PM PDT

He completely ruined my character, changed sex and appearance and I dont even know what else. I had read comments about him in the Reddit, so I immediately ALT F4 my game when he invaded, but it made no difference.

However, this is not a rant. It is actually far from it. I have 1000s of backups of my character, so guess what, made no difference whatsoever.

On a completely different note, I write this only to confirm what many players have been posting. This guy is real and someone needs to do something about it.

Can I post his account here, for the sake of him getting reported and banned? I dont think Reddit rules allow it.

Am i the only one who really enjoys the gank squad?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 04:20 AM PDT

This is coming from someone who hates fighting NPCs. Yeah the difficulty is cheap, the design is super lazy and there's no lore to them. But I just really enjoy running around the arena and teaching these gankers a lesson lol. The NPCs aren't that cheap to fight and don't have to rely on stupid damage to be difficult cough cough MALDRON AND CASTAWAY WITCH DONNA. And i just think it's quite fun.

God I hate the shades in shaded woods. I love the area but I hate those guys so much. What's your method of dealing with them?

    Protect the Princess - SL1 NG+7 Edition (29mil SM)

    Posted: 26 May 2020 10:44 AM PDT

Hello everyone. After finally getting to NG+7 with a little help, I found I stopped being able to solo. The majority of the bosses are just not made with SL1 in mind. So I decided to have some stupid fun again: another co-op challenge.

So the idea is we do almost every baws bar darklurker but I, the host, is SL1 and gets squished and swatter like a fly.

I've gotten to the ancient dragon atm and me and my mates are having a hard time with this one so some fresh blood is appreciated!

Anyone who wants to join my idiocy and co-op challenge, feel free to join my steam groupchat that I made for an older co-op challenge that happens to still be active.: https://s.team/chat/QWMapeQu

Should I wait to fight Fume Knight, or keep pressing on?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 07:08 AM PDT

So I have mostly cleared CotOIK, but now I face the fuckening of the Fume Knight. I need to grab the additional 4 smelter wedges to deal with the last statue, but even without that, I've died well before phase 2. I honestly think my build is either underpowered or not built for his fight (I have a mostly tank and poise build, constantly mid-rolling because of my great club) and I'm about >--< this close to farming soul vessels, respeccing to a high dex build, making a +10 rapier, and going back naked with a shit ton of stamina, then switching back to my preferred build. I'm only SL 103 rn, which is why I'm also considering just holding off, clearing through more of the story (I only just made it to Drangleic castle.) and coming back to get all the crowns before the end.

For the collection achievements can you do it on multiple characters, or does it have to be on one character?

The wiki says pyromancy flame, when upgraded, increases fire damage. Does this affect all sources of fire damage including weapons and consumables?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 01:41 PM PDT

I am replaying the game, and I have a character with a fire longsword (I switched to this from a regular longsword since I want to invest in agility before dex & strength). If I am reading the wiki right the flame, once I have acquired it, will increase the damage I deal from my sword. Is this right?

    Is bleeding infusion worth it?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 01:30 PM PDT

I'm makinga quality build, but then I got the twinblades in the lost bastille and read on the wiki that it was a good idea do bleed infuse it since it hits many times in a row, however the bleeding infusion reduces both the scaling and the base damage as far as I'm aware. So, is it really worth to infuse my weapon or should I just upgrade it normally?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 01:22 PM PDT

    Santiers spear strat

    Posted: 26 May 2020 12:24 PM PDT

I'm at the Dragon Shrine Bonfire and I got in the corner, did an r2, backstep, r2 and by doing this I chip away 6-12 durability per hit. Don't know about precise location, just aim parallel to the bonfire but not too far: you want to hit the sword and the ashes.

When heavy rolling do weapons do less damage?

    Posted: 25 May 2020 09:18 PM PDT

I have an axe that does 198 dmg but I'm over-encumbered when I equip it. It doesn't seem to be doing more than 25 dmg per swing. Is that because it's too heavy. I can use it correctly, my stats are good enough

    Dual Wield

    Posted: 26 May 2020 10:22 AM PDT

    Hi everyone!

Staring my second ever play through of DS2 (I've played 1 & 3 multiple times, but I REALLY want to give 2 more attention).

I need a little advice: what's the best way to build a dual wield class for this game? I've heard it's loads of fun, but I'm struggling a little to figure out how to spec my character. Anything you guys have for me is much appreciated.

    So I made a character...

    Posted: 25 May 2020 07:13 PM PDT

I am right at the Nashandra boss fight and just learned something that could have saved me from my 234 character deaths.

    Apparently, adaptability is useful...

    My characters stats are:

    VGR 12

    END 17

    VIT 38

    ATN 16

    STR 50

    DEX 30

    ADP 3

    INT 30

    FTH 22

This isn't a joke character or anything this is literally what I thought was useful. And honestly, since it got me this far, I'd say it's alright.

But oh my Lord I made a mistake. I have just been informed that upping adaptability makes your character use estus and roll faster.

Did I actually mess up or am I good? Cuss I'll farm for a while to up that ADP just so I can pummel Nash.

I've only beaten the game once and that was on PC, but I did so illegitimately. This character has been a full legit playthrough almost.

I beat the game and made a really dumb move.

    Posted: 26 May 2020 10:17 AM PDT

After beating Nashandra I was resurrected in the Far Fire. Now, I had been saving the DLC for last, as a first time player. And then I made the dumbest move possible. I set it to Ng+. Now I start from scratch.

To be honest I'm not too keen on NG+. I thought it was something I HAD to do.

    Keybindings and power stance

    Posted: 26 May 2020 09:16 AM PDT

When I play with my bow, I only can shoot with one typ of arrow. I can equip a second typ but can't change to them. Is it even possible? If yes how?

And for second question how do you get into power stance with mouse and keyboard?

    question for PVP fans

    Posted: 26 May 2020 08:01 AM PDT

I have literally zero interest in pvp and get annoyed when I get invaded and roll myself off the nearest cliff when it happens.

(If there is no cliff nearby I just stand there and let them kill me-very rarely they get the hint and leave).

My question is, what do you the invader get when I suicide myself? I assume you all get some kind of covenant reward for killing people? Do you still get it?

Challenge Runs and what they taught me

    Posted: 25 May 2020 10:50 PM PDT

So i've been doing challenge runs for souls and soul-like games for over a year now, more specifically a challenge that i call the steering wheel challenge run. Basically i hook up my thrustmaster tmx usb steering wheel set and attempt to beat the entire game with it.

Controls? Restricted. in some games like sekiro i completely lose my ability to side step. Right now I'm currently nearing the end of my dark souls 2 all bosses steering wheel run and holy hell, its been an interesting ride with many ups and even more downs.

Challenge runs like these really force me to improvise and adapt, and even at times when the obstacles seem impossibly high, there's always a solution if you work hard enough. Determination is the value that was engrained in me as i kept failing, harder and harder each time, but somehow deep inside me, i wanted to win more than anything and that always made me pick up my feet and depress my foot pedals again.

Imaging doing something over and over again but getting the same result, or finally making a huge amount of progress only to be sent back to the start. You have to change, try something new, think out of the box, believe in the dream, and Don't Give Up, Skeleton.

34/41 bosses beaten, sekiro-souls steering wheel guy signing off.
