    Just defeated the last giant

    Posted: 09 May 2020 05:09 AM PDT

Why does he have a gapping hole instead of a face? Could it be that all giants like hawkeye gough have a gaping hole but they wear a helmet so we can't tell?

    I haven't played DS3 so don't spoil it

Pro Tip: Use Maldron as your "escort" (involuntarily)

    Posted: 09 May 2020 12:09 PM PDT

Hello there, for those that would like some sweet, sweet revenge on the personification of fustration that is Maldron and/or are stuck because he's such a bastard, here's something you can do:

    1. Get a Seed of a Tree of Giants, you can get one of these on the room right next to the Soldier's Rest bonfire on FoFG
    2. Go to Maldron's little cozy spawn place and engage the little sh!t
    3. Backstab the bastard/Stall him/If you're bad enough just try your best at not dying
    4. The moment he starts making a run for it, don't pop the Seed, wait around 10-15 seconds to ensure he'll be in front of the Idol
    5. After waiting, pop the Seed, now you can just rush at it and he'll be so busy with the Possessed Armor and the guys that just followed you here that'll you could even emote your way to him dying
    6. Stop being so smug and either destroy the Idol and laugh as the little sh!t dies during your invencibility frames or make a run for the chest at the bottom in order to save wedges for Fume
    7. Get out of the tower and laugh your ass off with a grin on your face

    Congratulations, you just played him.

    I hate shrine of amanna

    Posted: 08 May 2020 11:55 PM PDT

I died 3-4 times only because I fell into water holes... Wtf? I can manage annoying enemies but how am I supposed to see holes in the ground while dodging magic missiles and jumping frogs. It's like blight town without the poison.

    Ok rant over.

SO CLOSE! Yet so far away...

    Posted: 09 May 2020 11:08 AM PDT

So. I can't be the only one on my first play through, as I walk up to Drangleic Castle out of the Shaded Woods thinking to myself... "Getting close to the end now. Everything has been about this king and this place. I'll be done in a day or so, maybe two." Just to then find out you were only halfway there.

[PS4] How active is DSII co-op right now, does anyone know?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 12:52 PM PDT

I am thinking of replaying DSII on ps4 again though I enjoy being invaded, invading, co-op, and other stuff. I don't want to spend money on ps online pass if you hardly get any online activity of course.

I do own it on steam but I want a clean ( no hacks, cheat engine) run and might as well get platinum trophy again but this time for ps4. Thanks in advance!

Can the same enemies get stronger in different locations?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 12:47 PM PDT

I just started a new game to test some weapon and realized the Royal Swordman in Drangleic Castle are way stronger than the one in Forest of the fallen giant. Maybe that's why this game is so fucking hard. You get stronger but those little minions are also get stronger too.

Tips for builds? Str vs dex scaling?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 12:04 PM PDT

I started off as a sorcerer and I was thinking of using FightinCowboy's dex/hex build he did in his SotFS playthrough. Ive never gotten too far in this game (I got stuck at Lost Bastille) so I dont know alot about hexes or which weapons are good. I was thinking maybe dual wielding or going spellsword with hexes. Im doing a dual wield build in DS 3 dex/faith for lightning blade and its cool. Dual wielding seems to be different in DS 2 however

Also, how can you tell if a weapon scales more with strength or dex? It seems like alot of the earlier longswords, shortswords, and the fire longsword scale more with strength. When I go to level up, my damage number goes up faster when I put points into strength but the number goes up slower for dex

Do the Forlorn in aldia’s manor not count toward the gear?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 12:22 AM PDT

I've killed 8 forlorn counting the manor ones, but straid is still only selling three armor pieces, is this a bug or do they have to be invaders?

    Are mages/clerics good

    Posted: 09 May 2020 01:14 PM PDT

I was thinking about doing a pure build, but I also haven't tried using any magical weapons with magic, which is better ?

Picked up this game while it was on sale on PS4. Anyone have any good early game weapon recommendations?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 01:04 PM PDT

I've played the original game but only back when it originally released and never played any of the DLC. It's also been so long now I've basically forgotten most of it. Does anyone have any recommendations on fun weapons or builds I can start working on early in the game?

    Please Help

    Posted: 09 May 2020 12:38 PM PDT

I got DS2 a few weeks ago, however, I only have maybe 4 hours on it at best. I find it difficult to play through the game, as there's just so many things that bother me and prevent me from enjoying it. The parrying feels off, the stamina feels off, there are just so many things in it that just turn me off completely, and I really wanna enjoy it and try to get through it, because I hear that the dlc is the saving grace of the game. I wanna play it, but I can never shake the feeling that it's just a direct downgrade from DS1 whenever I get on it. Any suggestions on how I can try and enjoy it? I really wanna atleast beat it, so I won't consider the 40 dollars I spent on the SOTFS edition a waste.

However I was a kid and didn't understand the game, the problem is that i don't understand anything now that I'm poder. So my question is, is this a part of the game, not knowing anything? Should i watch a guide ir something like that?

Is level 136 enough to finish the base game?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 11:45 AM PDT

Hey. I am level 136, do you think that it is enough to finish the game? I am in Drangleic castle, having beaten all 4 great souls and i have also beaten the two dragonriders. Do you think i need to grind some more or is it safe to finish the game on 136? Of course i am gonna spend souls on levelling up anyway but i wonder whether i am underleveled. No spoilers, it's my first playthrough.

Warning about cheating invader who might ruin your game

    Posted: 09 May 2020 11:25 AM PDT

Re-posting due to character name being included in the previous post, which then came under rule #7

My friend and I were doing some Jolly Co-op just after the Covetous Demon battle. Up until now, there were some invading players, but even if they had lag issues, they were alright to play against.

We then got the notice about an invading player who called its character after a certain painter(which pretty much matches the personality of the player who invaded us). We didn't give it that much of a thought at that time and were waiting for the player to arrive. I then got error message about all of my stuff being broken and was sent back to my own world. My friend warned me about the invader being a cheater and then we both promptly quit the game using Task Manager.

I started the game again and got the regular error message about disconnecting. The first thing I noticed after my world loaded, was that my covenant had changed from Heirs of the Sun to Dragon Remnants, even though I hadn't even discovered the covenant. I also noticed the amount of souls my character had, which at the time of the invasion was only around 12K or so had now been changed to be way over 100M. After I tried to open my inventory, the game just stopped responding, which pretty much meant the playthrough I had done with my friend was now corrupted and had to be started all over again.

We then checked the recent player list that we had met in-game and then checked the player profile. It looked like we were not the only ones whose gaming had been ruined by this person. We have of course reported the player and blocked the player from communicating(which unfortunately doesn't stop the player from invading again, it seems). But I'm wondering what could've been going through this wanker's mind that he/she just decided to fuck around and corrupt other people's game.
