    Just Finished my First Playthrough!

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 10:01 PM PDT

I started with the cleric class, and played through with the cleric knight build. Other than build advice (to prevent me from making a poorly balanced character and getting overly frustrated), I was committed to a fully blind first playthrough, and I'm glad I did it. I tried to be a "good guy" throughout, meaning I didn't kill any NPCs. Unfortunately, I lost Solaire right at the end, so I put on his gear in memory before taking to Gwyn. He took a bit of time, but I got him and lit the last bonfire and was immediately set into NG+. Possibly worth noting, not once did I partake in any jolly cooperation, mostly because I couldn't really figure out how, with any NPCs or other players (hoping to do a full co-op run with a friend once we're allowed out of the house). Now I'm not too sure about what to do in the game. I've always loved 100% completing games, and I would love to do so with this one (absolutely one of my favorite games of all time, at least in my top 3, without question), but I'm not sure if it would better to go for that in a fresh file or through NG+. I'll also probably be using a guide, because there is no WAY I would figure everything out on my own. I would love some suggestions from any of you on what I should do for my next playthrough! Praise the Sun!

    Platinum problems

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 03:35 AM PDT

So I am in my second playthrough and I decided that I want to get the platinum. I just completed the questline of Big Hat Logan and I have all the sorceries in the game except the DLC ones . Do I need them to? Btw I am playing the remastered version .

Where exactly are humans throughout Lordran?

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 04:43 PM PDT

What do I mean; what happened to all the humans and civilization throughout the land?

I know that when the undead curse began there were many undead outbreaks which crippled kingdoms and settlements AKA The Balder Kingdom

But think about it, we meet about 30 NPCs which are undead but still maintaining their goal, there's no way every single human in an entire 'country' except for about 30-50 have gone hollow, there must have been some survivors or settlements which were unscathed

So why do we never see any other Lordran-born human?

I'm guessing the Drake Sword has no use after NG

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 05:15 AM PDT

Does the Drake Sword become obsolete after getting it for the first time? Is there any point in using it in NG+? Should I just feed it to Frampt or should I keep it as some sort of collection?

    Awesome pve weapons

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 04:53 AM PDT

Due to my inability to continue playing a serious build for more than 15 hours i just want to make a fun build that demolishes enemies. Are there any weapons that can shred anything and everything in pve?

Weird stuff in the painted land

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 04:43 AM PDT

Defeated the dragon in the painted land, and behind it there was some weird clump of some substance that moved like it was breathing. Tried whacking on it a bunch of times, and nothing happened (didn't find a health bar, either), and I have no clue what it is. Does anyone know what it actually is?

Also, how easy was that dragon? Very predictable patterns (only repeated throwing his poison muck all around and would whack a claw at me if I was too close after his muck throw attack) and very clear windows of opportunity

I can’t summon two people for gwyndolin

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 12:49 AM PDT

Gwynevere illusion is gone. Anor Londo is dark. I see two of my friends' summon signs on the stairs of gwyndolin boss gate. But when I summon either one, the other one disappears. This has happened for both of the signs. What's going on?

    Questions about PvP

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 03:20 PM PDT

Is there a guide anywhere as I want to get into it. But I don't understand the different covenants, different colored spirits, spirit of vengeance etc, I don't understand any of it lol. And is there a a level range of who you can invade, does it include new game+ players etc etc. Any popular places to gank? Thanks.

    Am I over-levelled?

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 07:52 PM PDT

    Hey guys!

I'm currently on my first ever playthrough of Dark Souls (the remastered version), and just yesterday I opened the gates to Kiln. Before going after Gwyn, I decided to spend some time completing the DLC, having read many times recently that it introduces some of the hardest bosses in the game.

That being said, I was a little disappointed when I bested Artorias on my first try (SL=89). I hadn't watched any walkthroughs or guides of how to beat him, beforehand; I just tanked the fight with my +15 Zwei and Havel set, staggering the hell out of him and dealing as many hits as I could between his (admittedly trucky) attacks. Sure, I was slightly lucky, as I delivered the final blow moments before he could annihilate me, but still... it took me less than two minutes to finish it. And earlier than that, it took me barely more than a minute to deal with the Sanctuary Guardian.

Considering that I also faced this "issue" with all four lords (beat them at a maximum of two tries), would you say that a SL of 75-90 is too much for anything past Anor Londo? Or is the heavy VIT/END/STR build and tank approach (charge, hit, strafe) I follow that takes away the joy of slaining otherwise tough bosses?

I really love this game and I'd hate to think that I screwed it up by over-levelling and not being able to enjoy what are supposed to be epic boss battles. It's just weird to feel more vulnerable to minions than to their respective leaders, that's all.

Why are some players so toxic?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 03:24 AM PDT

To summarize, the last year before moving to a new house, I played DS1 in the ps3 but a lot of times my internet connection failed and got some invasions and invaders frustrated. Usually I apologized to that players trough messages and almost all of them were good players who accepted my apologies.

But one day, a guy instant texted me saying that I was a disconnecter noob, I replied and invited him to a 1 vs 1 in Anor Londo. He replied that it was a waste of time. After that I invaded him, he went to the start of the zone to summon a phantom, but in the end I killed them both.

Since then, he texted me saying that I was his toy and he wanted my casul tears. I blocked him but he created multiple accounts to just text me. After that I stopped playing pvp for a while. I know not everybody is toxic, but I feel like I have a magnet to toxic players.

I just want to ask to all the people in this community; have you been in a situation like this? How you solved it?

Gotta say, I prefer slower weapons than fast ones.

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 09:12 PM PDT

Hello, going thru my first run, and I have to say my expectations on what kind of build I would like have changed a lot. I'm at around sl50 with 25 vit, 20 end, 24 str, and 26 dex. Coming from bloodborne which was my first soulsborne game, my first run thru that was a quality build with Ludwigs Holy Blade, and I started a second playthru will a skill build. So I thought I'd prefer the speedier weapons in this game too since I enjoyed it so much in bloodborne. But gotta say, I'm loving just 2 handing the Black Knight Sword and just wrecking shop. I'm not really sure if it's classified as a "slow slow" weapon, but used the Iaito for a bit and wasn't as fun. Anyways, just wondering if I can get any advice on my lvling up from here on out. Thx

UPDATE: Some weird guy in a tall yellow hat came and shot the Hydra with some kind of weird black orb.

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 06:26 PM PDT

The Hydra fell down and died, and the weird man started coming towards me. I panicked and tried to disguise myself as a tree, and he walked over to the dragon and cut off its tail before leaving. It was really weird. Let's hope Tarkus isn't up there...

    Freaking Manus

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 09:06 PM PDT

This behemoth of a man keeps whooping me. I've only actually died to him twice but both times it was because he hit me twice and then even though I have ninja flips and spammed roll he still caught me with the same double and then I die. I either need some tips and tricks or a summon. Here is my current build. Lvl 100 VT:30 END:40 STR:27 DEX:26 INT:18 Faith:18 ; BK Greataxe +5 ; Sunlight Maggot Helm, Crimson Robe, Traveling Gloves, Black sorcerer boots. Dark wood grain ring, FAP ring. Any help is appreciated.

    Which Tracer?

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 11:16 PM PDT

I'm making a dex build and I'm going to use target shield and one of the tracers. Is it worth having both tracers in the right hand or should I just pick one and if so which one. Also this build will be strictly pve and I'm not going to dual wield the tracers like cairan.

My NG run for the Knight’s Honor achievement is almost done!

    Posted: 07 Apr 2020 07:30 PM PDT

I've cut off every tail and farmed every item on the list. I just need to kill Gywndolin and then big daddy Gwyn himself.

Then all of the boss souls on NG+ and of course poor Best Boi Sif for a third time on NG++. Then I'll have all of the achievements!

I am a little worried about Gwyndolin though. I've always had trouble with him. Especially on this build. I decided that my Knights Honor run would be a melee bruiser who doesn't use any spells EVER! I use a bow sometimes though. I'm done for tonight, but Gwyndolin will fall tomorrow!

Any tips to beat him would be appreciated!
