made a pic to help the community understand the souls memory Posted: 08 Apr 2020 09:16 AM PDT thirtieth day of the coronavirus, I ended up taking the time to make this pic, what did you guys think? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Apr 2020 01:10 AM PDT I saw this discussion in another subthread and wanted to jump into the conversation but didn't want to be pushy. So I'm making my own post. Interested to hear other people's favorites! 10. Throne Defender/Throne Watcher The best of the three fights at the Throne of Want. The arena is a little boring and the bosses don't put quite enough pressure on you to make the fight an exciting battle against a team-up, but it's the best boss gank in the game. 9. The Pursuer A pretty good early-game boss. On a first playthrough he's likely to be the first boss you encounter, and he's hella intimidating when you're still learning the ropes. 8. Lost Sinner A pretty decent duel. I like the added wrinkle of lighting the fires in the room to make it easier to see. You can choose to light them or leave them off for an extra challenge. Or neglect the fires because you're an idiot on a first playthrough. (In general, I like how DS2 has a few boss fights where paying careful attention to the level leading up to the boss can pay off by letting you take action to improve your fighting chances. See also: Mytha and the Ivory King.) 7. Elana, the Squalid Queen Her ability to summon Velstadt gives the fight an extra "oh shit" factor, and also is a cool way to make you realize how far you've come in the late game. The boss from the Undead Crypt is now just a sidekick to the boss you're really fighting. Also, Elana's singing while you make your way to the the boss fog is creepy and neat. 6. Looking-Glass Knight The mirror squires are a really cool idea, and I love that other players can become mirror squires themselves if they have a Red Soapstone. (Not that I ever succeeded at being summoned as a squire myself, but it's the thought that counts I guess.) And that shield is bad-ass. 5. Smelter Demon Has some of the better boss music in the game, making you feel like you're fighting for your life against a scary brute. I like how he buffs himself with flame, which is thematic and also makes sense in how it damages you. Fire is hot! It should damage you no matter how good you are at rolling! 4. Aava, the King's Pet Extra points for the fake-out where you can fight him right away if you want, but you have to find an item if you want to actually see what's mauling you to death. A fun challenge; his attacks feel tough but fair to dodge, which is more than I can say for other bosses and their ... "creative" hitboxes. 3. Sinh, the Slumbering Dragon Reminds me of one of my favorite bosses from DS1, Kalameet. Also has a great build-up; you spend the entire level knowing that you're probably going to have to fight a big-ass dragon at the end of it, and he lives up to the hype that the game has been building up around him. I can't help but feel a little sorry for him as I'm fighting him. Poor guy was just minding his business when Yorgh stuck a spear in him. 2. Sir Alonne Would be #1 except that the run up to him is such a pain in the ass. You all know he's great so no need to elaborate further. 1. Burnt Ivory King Best boss arena in all of Soulsborne. Best grand entrance of a boss in all of Soulsborne. Cool lore. Somehow both threatening and sad in all his consumed glory. Got strong Artorias vibes from him: how he hisses "DIE" while striking out at you, the fact that he seems to go after his former Loyce knights before turning on you, etc. (Not particularly interested in hearing in this thread about which bosses are the worst, FWIW) [link] [comments] |
Dark Souls 2, my favorite SoulsBorne game. Posted: 08 Apr 2020 01:24 PM PDT I have played all SoulsBorne games extensively and I have to say that Dark Souls 2 is and always will be my favorite one. I do not understand why everyone picks at this game the most. This game has some of the most memorable armor and weapon sets for me and all the bosses and their soundtracks are just beautiful. Majula is also the most peaceful lobby area out of all the games. Let me know if you all agree/disagree. I know I can't be the only one who thinks this. (mostly referring to the SOTFS edition) [link] [comments] |
No mans wharf estus shard did they change it? Posted: 08 Apr 2020 10:26 AM PDT This is my second playthrough and I am sure the location changed, where is it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Apr 2020 06:28 AM PDT So I just downloaded Dark Souls 2 on pc, I have leveled up my HP a couple times now but only half of the health bar is occupied, I can't use the other half. What I mean is the red meter for my health is only using half of the meter that is displayed, how do I use the whole health bar? [link] [comments] |

Easiest way to beat Lud and Zallen Posted: 08 Apr 2020 01:10 PM PDT What kind of build are Lud and Zallen the easiest to beat with? Because I'm about to play through the game again and I'm so scared of them that my build will depend ENTIRELY on them [link] [comments] |

What is everyone’s favorite area in Dark Souls 2 aesthetically? Posted: 07 Apr 2020 10:15 PM PDT Title. Just doing a bit of research, I appreciate the response. [link] [comments] |

WHOO HOO, NEW RANT. FUCK UNDEAD CRYPT Posted: 08 Apr 2020 04:50 AM PDT Alright so this will probably get taken down like the iron passage one but here goes. This is gonna be short as i dont remember much about this area This place is not good, not as bad as the other 2 ive talked about, but still bad. The only redeemable thing for me is velsdadt and most people dont like him so... This place is dark and i never like areas that hinder your vision, the mages are annoying assholes and those grave warden dickheads are just annoying in multiples. But the two things that bring this place down to the 4th circle of area hell is the bellringer guy, he can go fuck himself and the run up to the bosses. Fucking hell, that run up. First: Go through the whole level to pull a lever for a shortcut. If you then go back to the bonfire you- run past loads of enemies and break tombstones for the quickest way out of that shit hole. Run into a room with a few wnemies at the start, they are annoying. And at the end of this long ass coridoor is. . . . so many fucking knights i think together they are harder than both bosses combined. A dragonrider is alos there? Why? These guys are just names, i dont see them riding dragons. Velstadt is probably the only redeemable thing here because i like beating the shit out of him. Vendrick is a bad boss with great lore, he does vertical AND horizontal swipes, i know, amazing. He also runs like a pedophile. His memory is kinda neat with the cutscene, and i would use his blessing IF THE CROWNS LOOKED COOL, but imo they dont. Overall bad area 3/10 Did i miss anything? What should i rant about next for the ANGRY ENGLISH MAN SERIES [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Apr 2020 01:28 PM PDT Gonna start a new playthrough tomorrow but can't find a pve build that I like. I was thinking of sth with a rapier or sth rather dex related since I haven't tried any of these yet. Got any ideas? [link] [comments] |

Dark souls 2 "persian thief" pvp this may be the strongest build ive tried yet Posted: 08 Apr 2020 12:32 PM PDT so i came acros this build by accident by checking speedrun strats so i can beat the game in the shortest time for new pvp ready chars, and one of the boss killing strats i learned ended up inspiring me to try it on players.... Posted: 08 Apr 2020 11:29 AM PDT I am currently trying an any% no hit run on vanilla version. Do you have any tips for me ? [link] [comments] |
Should I buy DLC or just buy scholar of the first sin? Posted: 08 Apr 2020 11:10 AM PDT I've loved the souls series for years but had never finished ds2 cuz I didn't really like it my first play through. I've picked it back up and I'm loving it anyway I have the original PS3 version and dont have the dlc's. They are like 10 bucks a piece and I can get SOTFS for like 20 bucks and I also heard there are some other changes in SOTFS so which should I get? TLDR: Should I buy SOTFS for dlc's and have to restart playthrough or buy dlc's for original game. [link] [comments] |
Is dark souls 2 online still alive on PS4? Posted: 08 Apr 2020 11:06 AM PDT Considering buying DS2 for the second time after playing on ps3 about 5 years ago. After completing the pve part I'd like to get into the multiplayer more seriously. But if there are very few people online and wait times are long maybe I shouldn't even bother? [link] [comments] |
Starting my third journey to Drangleic, any suggestions? Posted: 08 Apr 2020 09:45 AM PDT |
Any tips for a new character using a strength build in a no death run? Posted: 08 Apr 2020 09:38 AM PDT I've beaten every area and with a dex, sorceror and pyromancy build and no deaths and now its time for strength. What do you suggest would be a good starting point? E.g get to 20 strength by the pursurer, invest all into health until level 30 etc [link] [comments] |
