Did Miyazaki admit he’s bad at writing characters? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 01:09 AM PDT I met someone who said Miyazaki admits that he's bad at writing characters. Does someone have a link of him saying that? [link] [comments] |
Dark Souls in the times of Covid-19 Posted: 03 Apr 2020 07:32 AM PDT Hello, my daughter is 12 and she was watching me playing soulsborne games during the past years. We are at home now so what to do...She just killed the dynamic duo, O&S. I am really proud father now :D [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 03:18 PM PDT Man oh man I had a tough time with these two bastards! I have been at this boss fight for 10 months, seasons went by, I went to college, and each time I came back home I gave it another try to no avail. Slowly I leveled up and studied their movements to every minute detail until I mastered the strategy on a mental level. But this boss conquered me every time, to the point that there was nothing else to blame for losing than myself. I was no longer underleveled, I no longer had weapons and armor that were too weak; the only thing left was my ability to beat them This battle became a truly meaningful test of my own persistence and patience. This was no longer about beating them and progressing in the game, it was a looming shadow that haunted me even when I was away from home. It was such a silly goal, but it always left me feeling unaccomplished. Until today. I've been home for a while during quarantine and my XBOX 360 with Dark Souls baked into the hard drive was calling my name for another battle. I accepted, I knew I had to beat them and I knew I was capable of it too. When I fought them again, I conquered Ornstein for the very first time and my heart was beating out of my chest. Just when victory was at hand, with powered-up Smough left with a sliver of health, I was defeated again. The sense of disappointment and dread fell over me yet again and I turned the console off for the night. Today I booted up Dark Souls with the sole intention of finally defeating them, with a calm and collected composure I watched powered-up Smough's health bar drain until I conquered the beast that haunted me since last summer. The beautiful theme that plays when you enter Qwynevere's room is stuck in my head now. I realized once I beat it that yes, it is just a boss and it is just a game, but much like other moments and experiences in gaming it has much more meaning to me than that, no matter what anyone thinks. I conquered the beast that was stuck in my head for so long and I became a more patient and persistent person for it. To every person at From Software that had a hand in creating Dark Souls, thank you. I am forever grateful. (P.S. to anyone that got this far, I hope you are happy and healthy and I wish you the best!) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 02:38 PM PDT Obviously he's happy and insane if he finds the Sunlight Maggots, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the "good" ending. You kill the Sunlight Maggots, save him from going insane, and he puts his summon sign outside the Gwyn boss fight. Apparently, Miyazaki has stated in an interview (though I've never seen this) that he likes to imagine Solaire helps the player defeat Gwyn, then defeats Gwyn in his own world, and then links the first flame himself. But, even if that's true, is that a happy ending? I can't imagine linking the first flame is what Solaire meant he wanted to do when he said he wanted to "find his very own sun." The last time you communicate with him, on this path, he's so dejected, defeated. He hasn't gone hollow - we know that because we find him later on - but that doesn't mean he's happy. I don't think he set out to link the first flame - as he says, he "became undead" so he could come to Lordran and find his own sun. Whatever that means, I don't think on the good path he actually succeeds in finding it. I think he decides to link the first flame instead as a consolation prize, because it seems like the right thing to do. What do you think? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Apr 2020 03:25 AM PDT Hello everyone. Just downloaded DS Remastered and noticed that there's delay between pressing mouse/keyboard button, some actions didn't start even the buttons are pressed(for example attack after roll). After ds2 controls are weird. Are there any fixes for this problem? [link] [comments] |
Could anyone drop the tracers? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 02:35 AM PDT Could anyone possibly drop me the tracer weapons (gold, dark silver) I just beat Artorias with a dex build and I told the lady no not thinking btw I'm on Xbox one [link] [comments] |
Help! Souls pool at impossible spot in Sens Posted: 03 Apr 2020 09:54 PM PDT Need help!! I fell off the side battling Iron Giant at Sens, and my souls pool (with muchos souls & humanity), is not at the where I fell from , but where I fell to. I have no idea how to get to the spot for collection. Does anyone know of a path/glitch/map jump to get to here. [link] [comments] |
Odd positive in these difficult times... Posted: 03 Apr 2020 09:18 PM PDT I've played Dark Souls probably about 11 times through, somewhere about 500 total hours gameplay time (PS3), and had yet to see a single vagrant. Finally pulled the trigger on picking up the PS4 remaster being stuck at home, and have now been killed by two evil red vagrants, by the Anor Londo archers and by the covetous gold serpent ring in Sen's, and a third I killed by the sunlight altar in a single day. I just wish I was this lucky farming some blue chunks... [link] [comments] |
How good is this faith build for invading at sl60? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 12:54 AM PDT I have 30 vit, 25 end, 14 dex, 30 faith, 12 att and base everything else. I'm using canvas talisman, balder sword, pyro flame and grass shield as my weapons with my two spells being wog and great combustion. RoFaP of course. I was thinking maybe my health was too low? Or perhaps I should ditch the pyro flame and get two castings of wog? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 08:58 PM PDT Am I supposed to run to the ladder next to the waterfall, or am I supposed to try and actually fight the hydra? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 11:30 AM PDT When I was younger, I tried beating dark souls on the Xbox 360. I got all the way to gwyn but couldn't beat him. After many years and after beating dark souls three, I came back to dark souls, this time starting over on the Xbox one. Today, I made my dad proud and beat the game. I have never been happier. Posted: 04 Apr 2020 12:19 AM PDT What does dexterity do and what stat increases swing speed.I just got a great scythe and I would like to use it as my main weapon, but it just swings too slow for my liking. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 08:20 PM PDT What happens if they both go down at the same time in the first phase? Does it just pick one to go into phase 2 or do you just win? [link] [comments] |
hot take: blight town isn't even that bad Posted: 03 Apr 2020 08:05 PM PDT I just finished my first play through of blight town (I played up to it once, but didn't play through it, I have just gone through it from start to finish now) and it honestly wasn't that bad. Using a +0 Drake I was able to trudge through pretty confidently. I died a lot yes, but I never really felt like I lost much since I only ever seemed to lose less than one levels worth of souls. I heard this place was a hell hole, and after wandering around and finding what I believe to be all the hidden items, I think it is safe to say blight town isn't all it's cracked up to be. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk [link] [comments] |
