Sent my stepson into the capra demon fight alone for his first time.

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:18 PM PDT

Told him he needed to face a boss that has caused so many rage quits over the years by so many and he wooped the capra demons ass. I'm so proud right now. Not one death. Only gave him a brief about the fight

    Anor Londo Boss Room

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:23 PM PDT

    I just realized something..

In the boss room for O&S, the two elevators are different sizes right?

The big one is for Smough, and the small one for Ornstein.

    I'm Sorry for Dying Stupidly

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:23 AM PDT

Someone summoned me to help fight Gwyn and we were running back to earlier in the area, probably to look for for summons. Then like an idiot I walked off the edge and died.

So mydogskip, if you somehow end up reading this, I'm sorry.

    Gaping Dragon Scare

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:06 PM PDT

So I went into the Gaping Dragon fight tonight with no prior experience. I foolishly did not have enough sorcerers to beat him due to exploring before hand. So I have to use a mace, which I don't have the stats to wield one handed. Initiate me 2 handing a mace with my ass clenched for like 30 minutes straight because I'm only hitting him for 64 damage a slap. I feel as though I have attained victory this night.

To the guys that just helped me out!!

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:36 PM PDT

Not sure if you are in here but an invader dropped 8 green titanite (no idea what they are for just yet I just started yesterday) and a slab then killed Solaire as he wouldn't stop attacking. No worries your kind gesture was appreciated. Sorry I freaked at first as that was my last humanity!!

Then to "Buddy Ole Pal" you totally decimated the Gargoyles. Didn't even know you could get three things from them so bravo!! I appreciate the help.

And to the guy simply named hi I appreciate the help and all the weapons and gear. Sorry I ruined the battle by falling off the ledge during the Gargoyles battle.

All in all I am loving this community even more then DS3 & BB and that says a lot. Taking a bit to get my footing here but you all have made it a blast so far!!

I just beat Ornstein and Smough for the first time!

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:16 PM PDT

I can't believe I finally did it. I'm working on my 4th play through of the game and this is the first time I've beaten them solo! It only took about 15 attempts. What finally worked for me was baiting out attacks from Ornstein's dash attack and then rolling into it and getting a hit or two in. After taking him out, Smough was laughably easy on his own. I can't think of another boss that I previously thought to be harder than O&S. Feels good, man.

How is online Dark Souls Remastered these days?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:34 PM PDT

IndieGala has a sale for DSR, was thinking about picking it up.

Still have the bug with Dark Orb being able to cheese phantoms when they come in?

Question- should I buy Dark Wouls Remastered?

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 04:24 AM PDT

Just got both DS: Scholar of the First Sin and DS III (along with DLCs) on the steam sale. Is it worth it to get the Remastered Edition of the first game? I've never played it before and I'm wondering whether I should get it full price. Thanks for your help!

    Should I play ds2?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:12 PM PDT

I'm asking here because I'd imagine the ds2 subreddit would be bias. I've played and enjoyed both DS1 and ds3 and I'm wondering if I should bother playing ds2

    Dear Stone Demons...

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:49 PM PDT

I noticed that when I need to run from the last bonfire in Lost Izalith straight to the Bed of Chaos, I see a lot of your kind in a long hallway.

Strangely enough, instead of doing your best to stop me and ultimately kill me, you do your best to AVOID ME and clearing the way, going left or right as I move through.

I know I could stop and kill you all each and every time, but your little 360 or so Souls reward is not really enough for me to stop my run.

In the future I hope for your cooperation and display your best mob behavior. You could for example spit fire at me IN MY FACE when you see me coming

    Just saying...

    Regards,

    Dark Souls Player

What is with all these "low levels" with super high end gear stopping me from playing co-op with my friend?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:40 PM PDT

We had an awesome idea to play Dark Souls 3 co-op during the lockdown but we get invaded by pricks rocking ridiculous gear every 2 minutes. We literally don't have anything except the basic knight gear.

I know it's "part of the game" - but it's clear these saddos get a thrill out of ruining the games of low levels. We're considering refunding it - unless there is a way to avoid these cheaters.

Today I cleaned New Londo Ruins

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:25 PM PDT

This was an area that I ran thru most of the time, trying to escape the ghosts at all costs, going as fast as I could to the Abyss, so I could leave to the other normal (as normal as Dark Souls, of course) areas. Not today.

SL60 pyro-dex run with a Uchigatana on my hand, I thought it would be good to wear the Wolf Ring, Havel's ring, and the Black Iron Set. I got a couple transient curses (enough for 30 minutes, maybe more), so why not try to clear this area from every single ghost?

It worked flawlessly. I never thought this area would be so easy. Uchi decimated them. Wolf ring and Black Iron gave enough poise to never be staggered. Ever. And their attacks didn't much against my armor. It was easier than the undeads from the Burg!

I finally could walk all areas, get every item, look at every point without that constant fear of being ganked on a corridor. Not fearing the ghost fun-house and discovering all the passages, and extra rooms I never saw before. Taking time to appreciate the architecture, in peace.

    10/10, will clean it again...

[Speedrun] All Bosses in 1:04:31 (World Record) by catalyst

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 05:40 AM PDT

    VOD: YouTube / Twitch

It took roughly 800 attempts, but finally a new WR. Certain route changes have happened, new skip at 3:25! This allows me to level up less, because I use a lighter Mail Breaker over a heavier Rapier, saving several seconds across the entire run.

Very nutty pre-DLC phase of the run, but then the streak of unfortunate RNG struck and we ended up losing plenty of time. Nevertheless, finished strong and finally have this new run on VOD.

    Is remastered worth it?

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 02:31 AM PDT

I've already beaten Dark Souls: Prepare to Die twice, but I want some pvp action too. So my question is: Is the online community in Remastered active enough to make it worth buying remastered for 20€?

    Edit: better wording

Just a question for you all? Would you be interested in watching a blind sl1 run? (not trying to self promote, just gathering ideas for a stream)

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:17 PM PDT

I have played so much ds1, but I have never done an sl1 run before, and i thought it would be funny if i streamed an sl1 run, but the catch would be that i have no idea what I am doing. I feel like it would be funny, but I would like to know if that sounds like a good idea before actually going through with it.

Noticed that there are some creepy dudes appearing in Depths, what's their significance?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:24 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm a new player and I recently reached and passed through the Depths in Dark Souls Remastered. However, during my time there, I noticed something strange. Sometimes these weird petrified men appear around the area. They appear to be made out of black crystal and covered all over in spikes. Hitting them causes them to shatter. What really makes them creepy is how they tend to appear in places I've already passed through despite me not resting at a bonfire or doing anything else of the sort. Something that really creeped me out though: While I was walking around, I noticed one standing there. I thought nothing of it since they didn't really do anything, and minimized the window so I could look at a walkthrough since I couldn't find where to go. After about a minute, I pull up the game window again to find two more petrified guys appeared around me. Because of this, they've really piqued my interest and I want to know more about them. What are they?

Edit: Nvm, just found out their just other players that died from Curse in the same location.

Im having trouble getting in to dark souls after sekiro and bloodborne.

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 03:47 AM PDT

I did play dark souls for a bit a few years back(I lost interest after i've reached the volcano map which was kinda boring). I actually enjoyed sekiro so much that it made me want to go back and play all fromsoft games. So i started with bloodborne after sekiro and it was also fantastic . I think i would have loved it even more than sekiro if it wasnt running at 30fps.

And then i started dark souls 1 ,which i felt was too slow and since my friend told me i've already gone past the best parts of ds 1 in my first run i could skip it. So i did skip to dark souls 3. I was told its more comparable to bloodborne in term of speed. After a few hours of ds3, i realized that i still dont enjoy the game anywhere as much as sekiro and bloodborne.

I might be playing the game wrong ,but i feel like unlike the other two dark souls really rewards passivity. People like to meme sekiro as a rhythm game, but the best way to fight in that game is to act first and keep up the aggression while parrying. In dark souls you pretty much had to let the boss act first then punish although i feel a lot of the bosses can be beaten by circling around them with your shield up and dodge once in a while. That being said the game is still far better than anything else in the genre and i still like it.

Does anyone else's heart break after beating the Centipede Demon with Solaire only to hear him say "Why? Why? After all this searching, I still cannot find it..." I dunno man. Hits me in the feels every time.

My brother found a new speedrunning strat accidentallly.

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:37 AM PDT

On my brother's Elite controller he has one of the paddles set the roll/sprint and instead of sprinting sometimes the input just has him roll instead. New way to get to Vamos discovered.

I honestly wish he was recording so we could've seen just how precise that roll happened to be.

    Dark souls remastered question

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:23 PM PDT

So I loaded an old lvl 50 pvp character and I encountered something that baffles me. I have the lord vessel placed with 2 lord souls in it and I dont have the warp option while resting at bonfires. I have no idea what's going on. Anyone know a solution to this problem?
