Just got Looking Glass Knight invaded for the first time Posted: 21 Apr 2020 09:35 AM PDT So I knew players can invade during this boss but had never actually seen it happen on my first two playthroughs. From what I understand the conditions for it to happen are fairly precise and with this game being fairly inactive with invaders I didn't think I'd ever get to see it. So when he did a unique animation I'd never seen before and a human player popped out of his shield, I kinda freaked out a bit. I'm a pretty casual player and got destroyed pretty quickly, but I think it's cool that people are still playing, keeping this game alive and interesting. It's nice to see new stuff in these games on repeat playthroughs. So just once I figured I'd say thanks to all the invaders out there. I ended up at Soul Level 385, and a soul memory of 87 Million. I can't wait to keep playing on this character. I'll post images if people want. Where do I go now? (No spoilers pls) Posted: 21 Apr 2020 08:22 AM PDT Order of the bosses I killed: Last giant Pursuer Dragonrider Old Dragonslayer 2 guys in the ship (I don't remember the name) Skeleton lords Ruin sentinels Lost sinner Now I've searched in every place and only found 2 possible ways: 1-in the forest of fallen giants there's a black door saying something like " perform the symbol of the king" but idk what is that symbol. 2-farm souls to buy the cat ring and go down the giant hole in Majula (if that leads anywhere) Also what is my goal? I thought it was find king Vendrick but everything I did seems to not have relation to him. When I killed the lost sinner it said like "old soul obtained", what is that for? Murdering the last unicorn Posted: 21 Apr 2020 06:04 AM PDT What did you do for COVID-19 lockdown? I murdered ice unicorns. I got so sick of the unicorn run in the DLC that I stopped trying to run it and just NPC-ganked the unicorns to extinction. Little girls who like unicorns have no idea what a holes they are. Ds2 exceeded my expectations. Posted: 21 Apr 2020 09:57 AM PDT I beat the game today. After coming from BB, DS and Des i saw a lot of hate for Ds2, but I always judge a game from my own experience and honesty this game was incredible. This game really taught me the game mechanics (how damage is calculated, weapon scaling, etc) in souls game and it was the first time i made a proper build, so it was a unique experience. So here are the things i liked and disliked about the game. Liked: 1.Majula(I really love this place, music is so good, better than firelink shrine imo and a close second to Hunters Dream). Point reallocation system(So i had messed up my build but i was glad to know you could reallocate those points thanks to soul vessel). Bonfire ascetic( Another cool mechanic. Being a battle mage i wanted to get the MLGS and i was able to get one before ng+). The DLCs were very good except for certain annoying areas in each of them (memory of old iron King, frigid outskirts). The npcs were also pretty interesting. Disliked: 1. The boss fights feel uninspired like dragon rider, ornstein 2.0,etc. Excluding the dlc, all the bosses are pretty easy to take down. Some of the areas were bland, i really liked the vast interconnected world in Ds1 which i haven't seen in any other souls game. I think Ds1 had good lore to its bosses something which i didn't find in Ds2 . Artorias, Four Kings, O&S, Queelag had really good background. Lag in PvP. I don't know whether this is a issue in all the souls game because I've only tried it in Ds2 and sometimes things get messy. Overall i really loved this game and it slightly edges DS1 in terms of gameplay for me. Bloodborne i feel is the best fromsoft game yet. So is ng+ worth it? I've heard there's significant changes in ng+ so might go for it. Sorry for the long post lol. Looking forward to Ds3 now. submitted by /u/LesPK9 [link] [comments]

Own a really weird version of Dark Souls 2??? (Ps3) Posted: 21 Apr 2020 11:13 AM PDT I've played through DS2 a few times now and am always very confused when I see other people's versions of the game don't include some of the things mine does. So I got the game for free from a friend (without the case) and the disk looked normal. It didn't say SOTFS edition so I assumed it was just the original game. So I played it through, all the items were in their normal locations no changes there. None of the DLC was in my game, even after finishing the game a few times I still can't access any of the DLC areas. But where it gets really weird is when I finish the game. So I know vanilla Dark Souls only had one ending, but when I got to the throne room I had the option to leave, which is something I know SOTFS edition included. And then when I finished the game and the credits rolled it said "Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin". Now I know that the SOTFS editions for late-gen consoles didn't include different item locations or revamped graphics but it did include the DLC, which I don't have. Do I just weirdly happen to own some amalgam of vanilla DS2 and SOTFS DS2?? Anyone else have this problem or know why it happened? Edit: I know some European versions came with vouchers for the DLC but the US versions came with the DLC on the disc. I finished the game without DLC in two afternoons, very easy at level 1, but the DLC gave me a lot of trouble. Sinh and the Ivory King were particularly easy, unexpectedly. Sinh died on the second attempt, and the King with someone more. I cried the blood with Elana, Aava (😡) and Raime. Raime with over 50 attempts. Is the run up to Executioner's Chariot meant to be hard Posted: 21 Apr 2020 01:32 PM PDT Because every time I try to make the run I either die by being stun locked by the 4 whip bois or I get two shot by the red phantom esque enemy guarding the fog gate. What makes it worse is that DS2 doesn't give you iframes during fog gates so I can't just blaze past everything. SL 85 Pyro Spellsword build help- where to next? Posted: 21 Apr 2020 12:40 PM PDT So, I am currently SL85, closing in on 30/30 stats for soft-capped pyromancy + Hexes. I'm really getting tired of my terrible roll frames, so I'm going to be putting points into ADP, leaving Dex as my only base-stat. I've been getting a lot of mileage out of my Mace + 6, but I have some Titanite chunks, and I don't think that the mace is the weapon that I want to invest them in. I have the stats for a good Fire or Dark infusion, but the elemental weapons that I'd want to use them on seem to all be considerably later in the game. I have the Heide knight sword NOW, and I could Soul Vessel my casting stats to skew FTH harder, but I'd be giving up Hexes. I like the Lost Sinner's Sword for fashion reasons, but the stat requirements are going to push me towards a Mundane or Raw build. I'm only still using a Mace because Strike damage has been really useful so far, and the requirements are low. Are there any weapons in particular that lend themselves to a Spellsword run through the midgame, before late area shiny gear becomes available? Is using a split damage weapon, in general, shooting yourself in the foot, like it was in DS1? I currently have perfect stats for Dark and Fire infusions, and I'm not opposed to re-speccing to skew INT/FTH for Magic/Lightning infusions. Is there a "best" damage type in the second half of the game? If I'm NOT going to use a split damage weapon, I'm not going to invest past the requirements for future weapons.
