    Ties are bullshit (I’m livid!!!)

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:21 AM PDT

Call me the king of salt but I'm friggin pissed. I've fought Elana like ten times and gotten my ass handed too me. I finally kill her with no health left whatsoever. Right as I'm rejoicing her Velstadt summon cracks me over the head with his hammer as "Victory Achieved" appears on my screen

I die and so does Elana. I responded only to hear her singing and the fog door back up. I KILLED THE BOSS!! Why the hell dis Velstadt get the chance to get one more hit in before despawning???

Elana is a stupid battle :(

Shout-out to the afk player on my first invasion ever

I forgot to check the username, but cheers to the guy that was absently chilling by the seashore in Heide's Tower of Flame when I invaded him. We shared a wholesome moment of staring into the sea together for a few minutes before I disconnected. That's the kind of online interaction I want to experience!

Is it true enemies drop rate goes down as you farm them?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 03:27 AM PDT

Saw it mentioned anecdotally on the wiki that the more you continually kill an enemy, the lower it's item drop gets. Im farming sunlight medals (obviously) and would like some community feedback.

Fucking LOL, even the Devs knew that the real boss of the Frigid Outskirts are those fucking horses

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 06:56 PM PDT

The npc phantoms will de-summon themselves once you kill the last invisible horse, they don't even wait to fight the boss.

    It finally happened...

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 08:12 AM PDT

So, I'm no stranger to DS2. I've played through main game, gotten to Fume Knight and decided I had enough. I just wasn't having fun with that playthrough. Everything felt like a chore. So the other day I decided I was going to get fully invested into DS2:SOTFS. And I'm hooked. I don't know why, but everything just clicked on this playthrough. I'm headed towards the Lost Sinner now, and am so glad I gave this game another shot.

    Hadn't played DS2 in awhile..

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:57 AM PDT

If you look through my post history, you can see what a huge fan i am of DS1. I plowed through DS2 and moved right on to DS3 a few years ago, but now i'm going back and playing again.

DS2 has a lot of really great things going on in it.

    It's so good.

Just wanted to say that. it's also fun that it's been awhile for me playing ds2, so its kind of new. I really don't remember areas that well.

Playing as "Artorias" a knight on an endless quest.

Why shouldn’t you pick up things dropped by invaders?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 04:36 AM PDT

Everyone seems to avoid it, but what's the reason? Do they acquire those things by hacking and then grief other players who are later banned for having hacked stuff in inventory? I don't quite get it :c

Did I get hacked or something?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 02:05 PM PDT

I went to McDuff's workshop and got invaded for the first time by a real player. He had 2 ultra great swords and every time I hit him it did 0 damage. Then he back stabbed me twice from very far away and when I died I didn't respawn just got a free cam basically. So eventually I closed app and went back in. Then I couldn't connect to the DS2 servers, my Xbox froze, and I had to do a manual reset. Still can't login to the online servers.

    Foot Soldier Sword

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 08:44 AM PDT

What is the best way to boost the damage on the foot soldier sword? I was thinking full quality and giving it INT scaling of some sort.

    Sunlight Medal Farming Party?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 12:31 PM PDT

I see a ton of posts around here with people asking about farming Sunlight Medals.

Does anyone want to group up in a party of 4, and all Sunbro for each other and just go wail on bosses? If we all just rotate through The Rotten, or clear stuff we haven't done, we can earn a bunch pretty quick, right? 3 for the host, and 1 each for the phantoms?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 10:21 PM PDT

They can fuck right off. An enemy that does bleed even through shields, mere contact causes damage and their Sonic spin can melt your health bar. I just lost 100k souls on my way to the 4th Knight and called it a night. Those things suck worse than anything else in DS2

To the three people gang that summoned me in Iron Keep

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 03:18 PM PDT

I am new to PvP and barely get a hang of 1v1 combat. I've put down my invasion sign in iron keep multiple times and it's usually been 1v1 fights. I've won some and lost some. Once I got summon by a duo. A backstab fisher with a shield and some phantom. They were both constantly pushing up on me leaving close to no attack opportunities. I still managed to guardbrake the shield dude and hit both of them. Then the phantom dude started spamming hexing urns as the shield one was circling me and dodging around and I was killed.

I now understood what the gangers are and why people hate them.

I continued with my summons until I got summoned by a dude with a summon (sunbro) again. I thought that they would gank me again and when I saw that another phantom was summoned I knew I was done for. But the dudes stood there and seemed to think who should fight me first. The newest phantom rushed in first and the other ones kept their distance and watched. I killed him and the sunbro did a gesture, checked if I am ready to fight and went in to attack we were fighting for a while and he had the upper hand but we ended the fight with a draw, killing each other with our swords. Meanwhile the host has disguised himself as a bull statue and watched us.

Thank you for the amazing experience. This is how I want dark souls multiplayer to be. Fair and friendly where people fight for fun. No tryharding, cheating, healing, ganking and other bullshit.

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 02:00 PM PDT

I was looking to get the moonlight greatsword cause I heard that if buffed it will be super OP, and then I found it was nerfed so it cant be buffed or infused anymore so i was wondering if its still one of the top tier weapons?

Person dropped 3 rings in my world, 2 of them refuse to leave (PC, SOTFS)

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 06:34 PM PDT

Pretty much what the title says. Invader invaded, started dropping rings. I know better than to accept strangers' things, so didn't pick any of the three rings up and killed him (he let me). One of the rings disappeared on reloading the area. Two seem to be permanently affixed to the ground there, even after returning to the title screen and relogging into the game. Is this problematic if I don't pick them up, or is their permanence proof of being legitimate? Any advice is appreciated...

Edit: Totally closing the game and restarting didn't get rid of them either. Link below is a screenshot of the rings, if that helps for some reason. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/770618035693280121/F84CD9FA29BE7BA58EBA2CE505EAD670C2DDE789/

    Best/Recommended PVE Magic Build?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 01:24 AM PDT

So I played DS3 as a pure strength build and DS1 as a paladin type build - still strength/tanky based but with some miracles thrown in. Now I am going to start DS2 I wanted to try something magic orientated so looking for suggestions to appropriate builds. Thanks.

    Can I play games simultaneously?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 09:43 AM PDT

I'm playing DS1 right now and I'm in Anor Londo. I saw that 2 and 3 are on sale on the PlayStation store so I'm really tempted to get them. I'm not sure if I will until I'm finished the original, but I can't really decide which I want to play next. I want to play them in order, but I keep hearing fast DS3 is a more polished game and that DS2 has a lot of problems which can be frustrating.

Do you think I could play them simultaneously? Would what be a bad idea since I wouldn't know what happens in 2. Should I just be more patient and play all of 2 by itself first?

(I'd also ask if you'd recommend skipping 2 since I've heard that before, but I think I know the answer I'd get from this subreddit.)

Edit: thanks for the advice. I think I'll get DS2 and play a bit of that while I'm going through the rest of DS1. I'll see about 3 once I'm finished the original.
