    Wtf

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 06:06 AM PST

I am lost as hell. I didn't really like the game when I started playing, but over the hours I started to like it more and more. I still like the first and third game more, but still ds2 has some vibes I didn't get from the other titles. But here is the one problem I have with the game: I never know where the fuck I am supposed to go. I am stuck and I don't like it. I ran around the world killed everything I saw, yet still I sit here before closed doors and some weird looking shrines that lead to more closed doors and I don't know what I am supposed to do. The world of ds2 is so weird and I don't like really like it. I don't know If I can finish the game on my own and I hate that feeling.

If There Was Flair for This Sub, What Would You Like to See?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 01:36 PM PST

I would really like to be able to add some user flair on this sub, but there are a lot of themes to pick from. What would you guys & gals like to see?

    Some ideas I've had are:

Favorite build types (Strength, Dex, Sorcery, Hex, Mix)

    Favorite weapons (Warped Sword, Rapier)

Favorite bosses (Fume Knight, Covetous Demon)

    Hours in-game (<100, >3000)

Achievements (Deathless, No Bonfire, Hitless, 100%)

I like the achievements and build types, personally. But let's figure out what we all like as a community and maybe the mods will add it in.

Looking for an old lore post I can’t track down

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 12:26 PM PST

I remember someone posted this huge three-part (maybe with more added since I read it?) lore writeup once. It was a breakdown largely of how DKS2 fit into the greater scheme of DKS as a trilogy, with a lot of talk about golem making, its relation to the art of puppetry from Alken, and how Gwynevere may have been responsible for s number of events in DKS2's history as well as being a central figure in Heide's. Apologies if this is too vague to help, but does anyone remember this post and have a link to it?

    About Shalquoir's dialogue

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 11:37 AM PST

So, Sweet Shalquoir is pretty much one of the most useful NPCs in the game for new players. Not so much for her wares, but because she can be quite helpful along your journey by dropping hints about where to go and what to do next if you ever find yourself stumped.

So... Why does she tell you about the Four Great Ones and where to find them after you open the Shrine of Winter? Realistically, you are going to be able to open it only after dealing with all four of them, and after doing so the path forward is quite clear until after you clear the Undead Crypt, at which point Shalquoir's dialogue will change to hint at the Ancient Dragon.

So even if it was put there as a "reminder" for players who open the Shrine the other way, the likelihood they'll talk to Shalquoir before her dialogue changes would be minimal.

Is this some sort of bug or mistake in ordering her lines? I always found it odd, since those directions would be quite helpful for players who don't know where to go next after defeating a certain boss and add some much needed build-up to the encounters with the Old Ones (the Rotten and the Lost Sinner in particular).

how should i be allocating my leveling?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 02:16 PM PST

just finished dark souls last night, praise the sun, and started up ds2. noticed that the leveling system is a little different in terms of the attributes you can level. i'm playing as a knight (i think? whichever one starts sans shield) and while playing through ds1 i was focusing on trying to level vitality, endurance, strength, dexterity, and resistance, when about halfway through someone told me i was basically wasting souls by trying to focus on dex and res, whereupon i switched to focusing on a vit/end/str build. in an attempt to not repeat my past mistakes, what is worth focusing on? i'm playing a similar melee focused build; should i be leveling vigor in addition to those three? and to what degree is dexterity worth focusing on?

    Farming sunlight medals?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 01:48 PM PST

So, I understand that I need 30 sunlight medals to get the last miracle - which allows me to 100% the game. I have kept this in the back of my mind since I joined the covenant in Harvest Valley on the first playthrough (I am at the Lost Giant now, NG+), and tried putting my sign outside of pretty much every boss, waiting for around 15 minutes - I got 4 medals during one playthrough. I get it - the game is pretty dead, but according to guides the only offline way to farm these are the Falcon-boys in Things Betwixt. Put on the +1 ring, and the Jesters Hat, I got none. Zero. This doesn't seem like a viable option.

Pretty frustrating stuff. So, my question is - am I doing something wrong? As I said, I just started NG+. I am not 100% sure how the "matchmaking" works. I am level 157, soul memory being 2784148 = level 35. Am I too overleveled? Underleveled? Should I use the small soapstone? Does it make a difference? Or is the answer just "gem iz ded lol"? Hoping one of you can give me a solid answer, thanks!

Edit: PS4, SotFS, Europe, if it's relevant.

    Help rotunda key

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 01:34 PM PST

I killed the girl above heides tower by knocking her off the edge. She didn't drop the rotunda key. So where else can I get it or did I break my game? This is my favorite character so far.

    New ds2 player ps4

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 06:40 AM PST

Hi im planing on starting ds2 and wondering what playstile/weapon class to chose... I played ds1 remasterd, ds3, bloodborne and sekiro so im quite familier with the games. (sekiro was my least fav)

Im looking to try i bit of a different playstile to what i previously tried (2 handed str in ds3, piromancer str hybrid ds1, dex in bloodborne)

I dont think pure sorceries or miracles is somthing for me...but might try a mele hybrid as i liked the pyromancy in ds1...

Basically what im trying to get is what builds you guys had fun with that might not be the standard str/dex/quality build. Somthing good at pve and a bit of pvp.

Thanks in advance for any input.

    Endgame and DLC order?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 08:24 AM PST

    Hey guys.

Getting close to the end (i think) in this playthrough, so i was wondering what do you suggest as for the ending and DLC timing?

Should i first of all finish the main game? Could i do Sunken Crown before finishing the game? Or also some other DLC?

Will it affect the overall ending doing DLC's before finishing the game?

    Thanks for info
