| Attempting the "No Death" run for the Illusionary ring... Posted: 20 Feb 2020 11:51 AM PST I am currently SL200 at the end of my first play through including DLC's. I am planning to start NG+ and go for the no bonfire run as a practice run and then attempt "No Death" run on NG++ hoarding enough souls to open Shrine of Winter at the start. Assuming many people on this subreddit have accomplished both tasks, any advice for me???? I'm looking to maximize my efficiency and get this done on my first attempt. All other covenants can be maxed out without much trouble but it's a good thing I'm not super OCD. In my 500+ hours I've only been summoned once to help as a Blue Sentinel. Granted that's total playtime and not all as a member but I've played through my entire NG+ playthrough as a Sentinel, making sure to be eligible for summoning at all times. Not a peep, let alone enough activity for 500 victories. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 20 Feb 2020 12:03 PM PST Some madlad invaded me as I got into the Gutter, realizing this he went from a Red Phantom to a White Phantom changing his colors (idk what item does this) and ended up helping me clear the entire area and light up all the fires. | Doing the math - Blue vs Black Knight Halberd Quality/Faith Posted: 20 Feb 2020 01:02 PM PST Heyo. I am currently in the halberd moveset groove. So fun to optimize and helps with ng+ gang fights. Now, the halberds. Ring values are included Lightning Blue Knight Halberd +5
Flame Black Knight Halberd +5
Running with RoB+2 and Lightning Clutch Ring (for Miracles). Technically, Black KH outperforms Blue KH, because of its higher fire damage. The issue that I see is that more enemies are weak to lightning and resistant to fire than the other way around. Right now I am at 30Str, 40Dex, 3Int and 50Fth at level 210. Aiming for 40Str and 8Int (BKGS). So the higher I get, the better should Blue KH become in terms of it's physical portion. However, Black KH will always be ahead in terms of elemental damage. So, opinions? Or you think other halberd are better for Quality/Faith? I am indifferent in terms of fashion souls when it comes to those two halberds. [link] [comments] |
| Is the weapon degradation bug back? Posted: 20 Feb 2020 06:49 AM PST Just started playing DS2 again after a long time with the event coming up. I'm noticing really bad weapon degradation, basically at the rate I used to see when there was the bug with FPS. Is the bug back? I just did frigid outskirts and my demon's greathammer broke during the fight. I had the +2 ring slowing degradation and used a completely different weapon for my trek through the Reindeer Hell of Blindness. So the hammer was at 100% before the boss. This does not feel right. Also does absurd damage and I'm level 160 with +10 weapon power stances with a +6 weapon and barely break 200 dmg [link] [comments] |

I just can't do it, and even when I do Ludd and Zullen beat me up like I'm their bone-chew toy... And the WORST PART is that when I get there I see 0 summ signs even if I wait for hours... And r/summonsign ain't helping. Also can't comment on discord because FML. For example i have started to go through the entire dark souls series only healing from the loot i get from enemies and chests (which is why I've started with ds2 as that does have the most healing items) with the added bonus of no magic whatsoever So if anyone you have any challenges you've either made up or you've got from friends post down below i guess (this is literally my first reddit post so yeaaah) [link] [comments] |

I am now on my 2nd play through and am not going to use any spells. using only melee weapons what is the best way to kill the darkdwellers (the spider monkeys that are scared of fire)? I am currently using a +5 fire long sword or a +4 morning star but I want to get to the UGS in the room with all of the darkdwellers. [link] [comments] |

However I only ever got about 70% of the way through DS2 back when it came out because I found the game too clunky. But now I'm tempted to give it a 2nd chance and rather than floundering around being underpowered, I'd rather just go through the game as OP as possible.
