| I've finally did it! with a guide... Posted: 28 Nov 2019 05:34 PM PST Just wanted to share my thoughts on how, after all those years of rage quitting , uninstalling and controller smashing, I've finally KO the good lord of Cinder. It's been a wild ride as I truly never thought I would reach this point in the game. I've always been fascinated with the lore and interconnected world so much that I watched for hours Hob destroyed everything with one hand and saw probably all the speedrun ever uploaded....but unfortunately never experienced the true satisfaction of the game. Tried for the first time about 5 years ago, got absolutely annihilated by the Capra dude. Rage quitted hard then never looked back. Then came DS3. I did manage to finish it but in coop, with a dude online who managed to obliterate everything before me. Fun but without this feeling of accomplishment. Then comes now, got a few weeks to disconnect from work and thought: what better way to unwind then completing this fucking game once and for all? Decided to pop a random guide to get some pointers to start over properly. This is when I found the complete guide from FightinCowboy. Honestly dude if you're reading this, you did an amazing job. You got me completely hooked, so much that didn't even want to play the game. At that point I just wanted to discover it through you and learn everything there is to know. Anyway thanks to that, I managed to put down the two doggies and their master, almost didn't cry through blight town and one shotted the hell out of the four kings, but more importantly, I felt like a fucking legend after finally killing O/S. So yes, I didn't venture into the game blind, but I sure as hell enjoyed it a lot more than I did before. My point is, if you don't like to struggle indefinitely to find your path or all the items to open every corners: then don't be ashamed and experience the way you want to. | Struggling to get into demon souls. Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:00 AM PST Hey guys, So I recently got into the souls series which quickly became my favorite game series of all time. I started with Dark souls remastered, then Sekiro, then Dark souls 2 and finally I finished bloodborne (Favorite game of all time) earlier this week with dlc and chalice dungeons . Before I tackled dark souls 3 I thought I'd give demon souls a try. So the souls game were not too difficult for me with the more difficult bosses taking 1-2 hours, but I'm really struggling to get into demon souls. It's old and it feels like it shows. Like the grass system, I love the blood vial system but for some reason I never get any heal drops in demon souls. I'm currently on 2-1 and I'm dying a lot, the scale miners take no damage and I only have an axe and broadsword at this point. Am i just doing something wrong? I'd love some tips on what I can do to enjoy it, as for now I'm just having no fun with demon souls. [link] [comments] |

Over the course of my two rankings I did the bows/crossbows and the spear ranking today I'm going to do the halberds ranking from worst to best. Here are the rules1.opinion based:This is my personal opinion. If you don't like the halberd that is low or higher on the list, that's ok because it's my opinion. 2.encluding:I will include boss weapons,special weapons that requires twinkling titanite,and of course base weapons. 3.pvp or pve:I use most of the halberds in pvp and all of them in pve. So this is going to be both. With all the rules in our way let's do the countdown! 9-Giant's halberd:When doing a halberd build,halberds suppose to be mostly Dex based. However this is not the case for the Giant's halberd. The main reason why I put this to the bottom is many reasons. 1.it has 36 STR requirement. 2.if an enemy has lightning res,the weapon is useless. And 3.its the heaviest halberd in the game having 16.0 units. If you're trying to use this weapon on bosses like Gwyn, you're dead. It doesn't matter how much effort you put into this weapon it won't work. So I put it in last place because of these problems. 8-Titanite catch pole(TCP):When I use the TCP in PvP, I was punished mainly because the split damage it deals. Even tho it deals overall good damage with enemies that are weak to magic, it was completely weak when you face players/enemies that are resist to magic. To make things worst,the weapons special attack called "leaping attack" can leave you a wide opening for a backstab. So why does this weapon is not last? Because it's way lighter than the Giants halberd weighing only 6.0 units. 7-black Knight halberd(BKH):This is the most controversial spot let me explain why this weapon is lower on the list. the black knight halberd is one of the strongest weapons in the game. Unfortunately it doesn't makes up for it's clunky heavy attack,high stat req,how heavy it is and it's not easy to get(unless when your at endgame). But despite it's flaws at least it deals only physical damage rather than anything else. Can I mention it has low scaling just no. 6-life hunt scythe(LHS):This is yet another weapon that need to be higher on the list for some of you. But I can't and this weapon kinda sucks. It got higher bleed and dmg than the great scythe. That's it. The problems? It has shorter reach,self bleeding effect,and can't be buff due of being a boss weapon. If the LHS has higher reach,less bleed dmg,and no self bleed it will be way higher on the list. But right now I'm not a big fan of it. 5-gargoyle's halberd:To be fair this weapon is one of the best since the early days of dark souls when there's no scaling boost. But now it was weak compare to other halberds that has more scaling overall. Sure it has the bleed and poison def boost. It has the same scaling when you upgrade it to the max potential Wich is D scaling of STR/DEX. Even tho it has a cool moveset, it feel like the scythe is better than this halberd. At least it's average. 4-halberd:This weapon is good for pvp/pve combats. It's AOE heavy attack has a dead angle,deals immense damage for an average halberd and it has a decent scaling of DEX of C. The poking attack is great for stunlocking enemies that has moderate poise. I prefer other halberds than this one. That said,this is a good halberd that is underated. 🥉-lucerne:Lucy the Lucerne is a best example of making a unique weapon done right. She has a over head slam attack that is a thrusting type Wich I found out to be interested,she deals the same good damage as the halberd,and her AOE heavy attack is still there like the halberd. To make things better her requirement is lower than the halberd,and has a weight unit of 5.5 instead of 6.0 Wich make her versatile than the regular halberd.... I don't know why I said the Lucerne is a female 😓. 🥈-scythe:The scythe is yet another deadly weapon to use. It has a good scailing of B for Dex,it has a gargoyle's halberd like move set that makes the scythe stands out,and the amount of damage it deals is more than most halberds. When I use this weapon back in original dark souls I see how good it is in PvP. Also it's easy to get by simply go to sens fortress from the bottom where the titanite demon guarding stuff. When you buff this weapon with Crystal magic, it will become a true titanite demon destroyer. However there's only one halberd that takes the crown for the best halberd. 🥇👑-great scythe:Let me get this out of the way. This halberd is so damn good. It has a long sweeping heavy attack that can clock wise to 180° for the second hit,it has the highest Dex scailing of any halberd by A,to top it all off,it deals bleeding damage. Unlike the life hunt scythe,you don't need to worry about bleeding by your self when you hit someone. I have all the good memories of using this weapon in PvP. You can also buff this thing to make it stronger than before. And that's all I can say about the great scythe. I hope you enjoy my ranking. What is your worst or best halberd in DSR? | Evidently, The Chosen Undead Can Parry With Their Bare Hand Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:11 AM PST I had decided it was past time to learn how to play without a shield, so I started running my new Wanderer around Undead Burg with his left hand empty. I made lots of impressive mistakes and had a grand old time rolling haphazardly and circling around enemies like a maniac. Then I realized that drawing two dudes back over the firebomb bridge to fight was just stranding me with two dudes on me and not actually improving things. So I crossed the bridge, stood my ground, and tried L2-ing the first one to come to the entranceway. My Wanderer proceeded to freaking PARRY A SWORD WITH HIS BARE HAND. I then watched the other dude's battleaxe pass harmlessly through my riposte i-frames as my Wanderer skewered the first dude. Then he turned and dispatched the battleaxe dude too. So, apparently bare-handed parries are a thing, and they make you feel like a god. To me, that's totally worth a few deaths-by-inexperience in the Undead Burg. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Nov 2019 05:50 PM PST I just spent what felt like forever farming silver knights for the shield drop, the ones with spears are more defensive and harder to backstab so I avoided them and did a circuit of the 8 knights with swords, bonfire, repeat... I did this at least 15 times with no luck, just a whole bunch of swords. Eventually, not paying attention, I went into the wrong room I drew agro on a spear wielding knight and he dropped the shield on the first attempt. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, was I wasting my time with the sword ones? [link] [comments] |

I was really tempted to get it since I played the tutorial on my laptop a while ago and really liked it overall, my only problem was that the controls were weird and confusing (was using keyboard, I don't have any controller for my laptop) What I worry is that the game will be too hard or frustrating for me. Everytime I say I want to try it people discourage me... I have two decades of gaming, but I mostly play Nintendo games. I don't mind doing some heavy grinding, I've spent hours leveling up and gathering items on Final Fantasy XII. Is it really that hard or with some patience and grinding (is it even possible to grind?) I can do it? I think that the most strategic thinking I did on the past few months was beating the lower level Sword Trials on BOTW... Been too busy to game huahauahhahaha [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 28 Nov 2019 04:25 AM PST Howdy! I always wanted to try Black Knight cosplay build, and that time has come. But the armor set is, well, far... So I decided to take this build into NG+. But before that, I need something to beat Gwyn and other fellows. Black Knight weapons are STR weapons, so my stats will be 40 STR and 18 DEX - not sure which one I'll pick, leaning towards Sword. So my question is - what are some fun weapons worth using and upgrading to +15? What's gonna work well in DLC and other hard encounters? I think I once used Zweihander and Greataxe. I'm thinking about Iron Golem cosplay, because how weird his armor looks and the Golem Axe is STR weapon. Otherwise, I dunno. Preferably not upgraded by Twinkling Titanite, saving that for BK set, shield and weapon. Help? EDIT: I will try Great Club and decide if I still want Golem cosplay :) [link] [comments] |
