    Dark Souls as therapy

I have a drinking problem but it's getting better. When I really committed to changing my life I also happened to pick up Dark Souls Remastered. It's fucking hard. So is remaining sober – that is, not going hollow after another night of alcohol abuse. Even when I did go Hollow, I'd regain some Humanity eventually and keep trucking along. I've been soberly Human almost five months now. Methodically trekking through Dark Souls I & II, taking my time and distracting myself from cravings has worked out great. I play a little in the morning before work and in the evening when I get home – two trigger times for me. Embracing the difficulty of it has helped me tremendously. In other news, I feel great!

I've got my girlfriend into Dark Souls but she hasn't played it yet, so I showed her pictures of a few spoiler free characters: Lautrec, Crestfallen Warrior, Oscar, and Solaire. She chose Solaire as her favorite immediately. She passed

TIL that Quelaan will speak to you when you wear the old witches ring! For all my playthroughs previous she always gave me, ...?

Now hearing her speak, I feel, so sad. So very sad for her, her brother, and sisters.

Beat Dark Souls prepare to die edition and it was EPIC!

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 05:54 PM PST

I started my Dark Souls journey from ds3 and played through that game 3-4 times then I got bored and decided to finally try out the first one and I have to say the experience was awesome, My favourite boss was Artorias followed by Ornstein and Smough which I had to get good to win(beat all bosses solo except Gwyn cause Sun bro). I have to say I was so satisfied when I beat the game that I started NG and asap beat both asylum demons, Taurus demon and ran don the Catacombs for fun and killed pinwheel(hardest boss lol). Next in line is DS2 Scholar of the first sin.

    How Hard Is Ng+?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 01:24 AM PST

i've always wanted to platinum dark souls. probably my favorite soulsborne game, i love it so much. i'm super close to platinuming bloodborne (i just have to beat it one more time and get the yharnam sunrise ending), but when i tried to play bloodbornes ng+ i found myself struggling. maybe i was rushing, maybe i was underleveled, i don't know. i'm asking how much easier or harder dark souls ng+ is, considering i have to play through ng+1 and a bit of +2 to platinum it. thanks in advance!!

I didn't get to sit down...

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 09:20 PM PST

I finally made it past the archers in Anor Londo, replete with souls, and after flirting with Solaire I approached the bonfire...

And I got invaded before I could sit.

He killed me in one hit with his glaive, and I respawned down at the Darkmoon Tomb.

No Ring of Sacrifice, I tried running back - only to run right into a Crab Vagrant standing on the final buttress before the ledge where the archers stand.

My butt has never been more puckered, damn Vagrant nearly cost me a buttload of souls.

    Help on upgrading weapons.

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 09:13 PM PST

I accidentally upgraded a weapon I meant to take to +15 to +5 raw that I intend to use through the entire game. Am I screwed or is this weapon still viable for the duration of my play through? Just got to Anor Londo.

Was the blocked gate/doorway on top of Sen's Fortress meant to lead to Anor Londo?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 02:49 AM PST

After you fight the Iron Golem on top of Sen's, you can see a huge doorway that is blocked off. Does anyone know if this was meant to lead to Anor Londo, and maybe they didn't have enough development time to use it?

Installing Dark Souls Remastered Fatal Error

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 12:29 AM PST

    Hi there!

I've been trying to install Dark Souls on my computer, it goes well, but when I click to play I get an error saying "The system does not meet the minimum Directx 11/ Shader Model 5.0 GPU requirements"

Thing is I have a Windows 10 Pro computer running on 8 Gigs Ram, Intel Core i5 @ M450 2.40 GHz, and currently running Directx 12.

I've installed Directx 11, tried the ramfix for the minimum requirement bug, even attempted to run the program forcing it to use the Directx 11. Nothing. Any help to solve this would be much appreciated.
