- I played with game a few years ago and then picked it up again a couple months back. I seem to remember there being a bow that could fire both great arrows and regular arrows. I thought it was the dragon ride bow, but that can't. As far as I can tell, no bow can. Is that right?

| What's the best 'fast' strength weapon relatively early game? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:06 AM PST I did most of DS1 and DS3 with the Butcher's Knife, and I kind of love a fast strength weapon along with a shield. I just can't get the feel for the greatswords and other 2-handers. The slow speeds just don't click. Currently I'm using Bandit Axe, but I'm hesitant to upgrade it, and the Butcher's Knife doesn't show up until later. I'm about 28 into STR and 14 into DEX. [link] [comments] |

| What are some good sword type weapons? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:54 AM PST I am using the Elite Knigth set because it's decent and it looks quite good . I am not looking for any of those ridiculously big swords that look like they are from Monster Hunter . I just want it to look belivable but also have decent stats. I heard about the Rapier but the wiki says that it's quite bugged due to the hitboxes in this game. I also read about the Sun Sword but it seems to be further away in the game than I am. I just beat one of the first bosses (The Last Giant) so that's quite far from where I am. Does anyone know any decents swords I can use from early on? Currently using the Morning Sun because it seems to have decent damage and speed but I don't really like mace style weapons. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:04 AM PST The Fume Knight is giving me a lot of trouble, and I am trying to figure out my best approach. My first fight with him is NG +3 so my margin for error is not huge. I played a fair amount of DS2 before getting the DLC, didn't play for a while, and now I want to go back and clean everything up. So, I am probably a bit rusty. Is fishing for a co-op player worth it, or should I just keep trying to get my dodge game back up to speed? I am using a strength/dex build, but willing to shift things around if it makes a big difference. For gear I am using Velstadt's Helm, Lion Mage armor, a +5 Ice Rapier (two-handing) and keeping the Blossom Kite Shield on my back. My other weapon options that are ready to go are +10 Blacksteel Katana, +10 Halberd, +10 Twinblade and a bunch of maxed out Great Hammers and Greatswords. The bigger weapons don't seem super useful so far in this fight. I seem to be able to last the longest with the Ice Rapier, but the damage isn't great so it takes a while, and there are more chances to screw it up. About 1/2 health on the boss is my usual point of failure. Any tips are appreciated. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:26 PM PST Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I think Blue Kool-Aid aka Blue Smelter Demon is one of the best bosses in this game (and is a lot more better than og smelter demon). I already loved the og smelter demon fight, but I found a lot more joy and excitement to be had in this one. Firstly, I love the delayed timings. This one really caught me off guard and I loved it. I enjoy how this guy mixes you up and throws in some unpredictable attacks into his moveset. This forces you to be a lot more aware and constantly be on your toes. It personally made the fight a lot more challenging, and exciting. Second, I like the health drain. As harsh as it is, I actually kinda like the health drain a bit as it forces the player to have some confidence in themselves and be forced to not rip through their estus supply to recover from a loss of slight health in fear of being one shotted and instead, keep tangoing with the boss until they're health reaches an extremely low level. Third, visuals. Blue is my favorite color and honestly, this makes me love this boss even more. That and the fact that he looks a hell of a lot cooler than the og smelter demon. That's all I really have to say. Just wanted to show some love and praise to what might become one of my favorite bosses in the soul series :3 [link] [comments] |

I know that it's technically not required for the platinum trophy but my Completitionist attitude just won't allow me to let it go but unfortunately I am too big of a scrub to farm all 50 of them (only 10 so far across 2 playthroughs) . I've played a good chunk of 2(I'm assuming maybe 1/3 of the way through?), and I definitely enjoyed some of it, but it just feels... weird in some undefinable way and it hasn't pulled me in. | Problems with Cross Region Play Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:05 PM PST Hello! A friend of mine and I have been playing through DS 2 together for the past few weeks. We used the god selection ring to make it more likely to see each other's signs and had few problems for the most part. However this was when we were both in the USA and now that I have relocated to Europe we can not see each other's signs. We have both enabled cross region matchmaking and are still using the ring but nothing seems to work. Any solutions to this problem? Thank you. [link] [comments] |

However, I somehow lost all my saves since the last time I played and have to start over. I'm currently watching a 100% all achievements for the original Dark Souls 2.
