Is santier any good for a quality/faith build Posted: 17 Nov 2019 05:58 AM PST Just finished beating najka, I was wondering if I should get Santier Spear, my stats are 25 strength, 25 dex and 35 faith, should I bother getting it or not. Also can I infuse it or at least buff it? [link] [comments] |
Cursed undead that went Through pain and death refuses to sit. Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:36 AM PST So i completed DS2 and DLCs. Ivory crown was Fun, sunken crown was Fun too but far too short. Old iron king wasnt Fun. I feeled empty after finishing last dlc (iron king). I thought that i should go simply ng+ with diffrent build and go on eternal journey that will actually never end. But didnt want to. Maybe i will find replacement. Maybe DS3 now? Who knows. Goodbye. You have been one for me. First Souls for me. That was one hell of journey. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Nov 2019 08:40 AM PST I tend to ramble so I will put tl;dr at the bottom. I'm also on mobile, so please forgive my subpar formatting and any grammar issues. Do you have a fun challenge? I mean an armor combination, allowed/banned weapon, what spells are allowed if any? Maximum stats/SL? I couldn't think of what to call it other than a challenge, but I dont want to do "no death" or the "human run" although no bonfire runs are fun. Alternatively, a fun character/boss Cosplay? Co-op or solo, but recently I've gone lone wolf with the exception of farming Smooth and Silky Stones and getting a Token of Fidelity / Spite to join covenants. Example for cosplay: Anri/Oscar of Astora Velstadt Fume Knight Lucatiel Patches/Pate Creighton Example of "challenge" Head: Thief mask Chest: Prisoner's Tatters Gauntlets: Desert Sorceress Gloves Legs: Alonne's Leggings Weapons: RH1: Uchigatana RH2: Dagger LH1: Parrying Dagger LH2: Hunter's Black Bow Rules: No weapon buffing. I hope you guys can pick a harder one than my friend gave me, he told me to only use Bandit Knives, a buckler, shortsword, bows, a dagger and the Black Leather Set with the Thief Mask(which was easy) TL;DR: basically just pick a character, or armor pieces/full set and a weapon/weapons to use. Is there any lore reason to kill the Ancient Dragon? Posted: 17 Nov 2019 10:03 AM PST I know that I can start an optional fight if I attack him, but is there any real reason to? I know the theory that he's basically a construct made by Aldia, but is that any reason to murder the thing? Especially considering that he helps out the Cursed One, I'm not sure how much I want to attack him. [link] [comments] |
Please convince me Dark Souls 2 is worth my time Posted: 17 Nov 2019 12:06 PM PST Look, this isn't a 'Dark Souls 2 sucks' post. I played the original Dark Souls a handful of times and then Dark Souls 3 was coming out. I heard nothing but negative things about 2, so I skipped it and was holding out for the third. Unfortunately, I wasn't really ready to make the next gen jump yet, and after a bit of waiting I was in the mood for more Dark Souls but not the same game I've already played through a dozen times. So, I bit the bullet and I ordered Dark Souls 2. I had a lot of fun with that game. Sure, there were frustrating points and I felt there's a lot of artificial difficulty in contrast with the 'fair challenge' that you usually experience in the other titles but I still really enjoyed the playthrough. I even picked up the DLC and beat one of them, and got about halfway through the other. Then, a next generation console was in my budget so I dropped it entirely and haven't gone back. Those fond memories made me want to revisit it, though, as I've played all my other FromSoft games dozens of times but only beaten Dark Souls 2 once. It was the first Souls game I started to PvP in, and I still had over half the DLC to go through so there's some fresh, untouched content for me to explore. That's exciting to me, plus I feel like I've been 'defeated' if I didn't take on and complete all the DLC. Here's the problem, though... Additionally, and this is my biggest issue, but the timing of the game feels off to me. I've sunken in several hours trying to get back into the game and I still feel like I cannot time my dodges correctly. It almost seems as if there aren't I-frames at all, and that you take damage regardless if you're in range. There's this weird learning curve to it that feels counter-intuitive to how familiar mechanics are supposed to work. Am I just completely off on this, or is there something to this? I rely pretty much exclusively on dodging in FromSoft games these days so I'm pretty comfortable dodging. It just seems the same mechanical skill I have in DS1, DS3, and Bloodborne isn't getting me anywhere in DS2. Lastly, and this is a petty complaint, but the graphics are really jarring to me. Everything seems a bit washed out and dull, and there seems to be a lot of visual tearing when you move around. Coming into it after beating Dark Souls 3 twice within a month makes it pretty hard to adjust to. So, those are my issues with the game. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 04:26 PM PST Holy balls! I was not prepared for Aava, and when I thought Aava was tough, I find the Burnt Ivory King and that dude has wrecked me so many times! I can't even get him down to 50%! I'm lucky if I can even hurt the guy and that's with Lucatiel, Twei, and the four Loyce Knights! Let's not even talk about the Fume Knight. That dude is on a whole other level. Thanks for giving me two summons that only make him harder, FromSoft! [link] [comments] |
Can some one tell me how to get to the 3 gardis in SOTFS? Posted: 17 Nov 2019 12:16 PM PST |
Posted: 17 Nov 2019 12:03 PM PST I have been using the same build in Dark Souls 2 since the main game on Xbox 360. The build uses a lighting claymore +10 and a Dranleic Sword +10. The Claymore is the power house dealing a total of 406 damage because of it being infused. The Dranleic Sword does a total of 392 maybe less. Is there a great sword that does more damage than the Drangleic Sword preferably that I can infuse? Also what Sorceries, Pyromancies, Hexes, and Miracles should I use preferably to buff my weapons. The equipment you find at the start of the game is way too OP Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:20 AM PST Never used anything else besides the Heide sword and the drangleic set and I cannot see any reason to try different armor or weapons because of how good those are and it takes away the excitement of finding new gear because you know its useless [link] [comments] |
Just out of curiosity, what is everyone's favorite moveset in a weapon? Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:19 AM PST Personally, I'm a big fan of the Great Club. The first R2 is a wide sweep and the first R1 is a downward smash. Also it's got a far reach and scales well with STR. Maybe it's a bit slow compared to the smaller weapons, but if I feel like I need a faster weapon I'll switch to the Handaxe which has high DPS that scales with STR and similar, but reversed attack patterns (downward R2 and sweeping R1). Anyone else think Dark Souls 2 is the most difficult, rage inducing FromSoft game? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 05:51 PM PST I've beaten DS 1 and 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro multiple times (including dlc) and have only "raged" a few times; Rom, Bed of Chaos, Gael, Orphan, Ss Ishin. But I find myself getting unnaturally frustrated with dark souls 2. It's not necessarily the bosses, it's two things: the walk-backs to the bosses and the FUCKING GANK SQUADS around every corner. The only saving grace is that the enemies die off eventually and stop respawning, because if I had to fight the hammer fucker before ancient dragon with infinite stamina one more time I would lose my shit. I still love this game, but I think there are too many situations where they just said fuck you to the player and threw in excessive enemies. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Nov 2019 09:10 AM PST I just remembered why I stopped playing this shitty game and how infuriating it can get. Sure, it does look very pretty and some concepts are really good, but overall the game feels unfair, not "difficult" like DS1 but just UNFAIR. Gank bosses, Gank areas, weird controls, sluggish character unless you get some AGL, the bullshit AGL stat that is a must in order to roll proper, a lot of weapons but like 3/4 are unmemorable or just disappointing (I was hoping something more from the Gargoyle Bident considering it is Thrust/Strike, maybe something using the big ball thingy it has and its just a spear..with Strike properties but its just that) At least the fashion souls looks quite neat when you pull it off. Posted: 16 Nov 2019 02:29 PM PST Trying to get her plot line, so wanted her to survive the fight, which she did, sort of. Does it count if she never entered the battle? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 04:31 PM PST I came back to DS2 after getting my platinum on Bloodborne yesterday. Haven't played since before DS3 came out. I have gone back to DS3 for the active PVP community between almost every game I play, but the meta just gets old and I have too many hours and characters in for the PVE to be a challenge anymore. Even with all that, I have more hours in DS2 than any other so I was honestly expecting a slog. I had so many hours into it that I wasn't interested in SoTFS when it was released, I just assumed it would be more of the same with a different name. I came back to Drangleic after 5 or so years and I'm so fucking pumped about the sames and changes. First off: I can't believe how active the PVP community still is! I was assaulted and raped by a twink with invisible swords in the Tower of Flame within the first half hour of play. It sucked. But it also told me that the same heart was still beating in the game because twinking is just another way for people that love the game to keep it fun for themselves. I parry killed a noobslayer in the forest after getting 2-shotted by him a few times. Oh god did that feel glorious. I beat the pursuer first try and got the ring of blades which I had NEVER done before! I must have gotten a tiny bit gud since leaving because I was just getting it. I'm at the belltower now at about 400,000 SM and I'm super impressed with the amount of invasions I can get manage. I'll return from an invasion, get invaded, and invade again within the space of 5 minutes. And my god... the load times are so fast. I was always a big fan of the rat king covenant back in the day. Is that as active as the belltower? And what SM should I start investing my time at the Grave of Saints? I do want to get my platinum this time around and I am a little worried about the covenant-specific spells in particular. Any other advice for what soul levels to delight in various covenant activities to keep the blood flowing? Thanks to all for keeping the game alive. I'm pumped to dump all my free time into this for a good long while. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:06 PM PST Boy the NPC summons do not cut it for this fight. Anyone able to help? SL 171, SM 3.5 mil [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 02:54 PM PST After more than 100 Hours of Playtime on one Char, it becomes quite boring. Are there any challenges to do (except no Death, no bonfire)? Please nothing like SL1 or No Hit runs. Something that is challenging but still does not make you throw your Controller at your Wall. [link] [comments] |
