    I just beat Moonlight Butterfly...

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 06:54 AM PST

...and it didn't feel like a boss fight. It felt like a break, after all the intense fighting that's been going on. The music was spot on with the setting, there were no gimmicks needed to beat her, so all you had to do was slowly dodge her calm attacks until she landed, where you could attacks her without worrying about blocking incoming projectiles. It's been the best bossfight so far (first playthrough, so idk about the upcoming bosses).

I have a question, Wich is for you the saddest lore of dark souls?

I feel hollow after a full sorcery run.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 06:15 PM PST

My first playthrough blind I was thief with a bit of pyromancy. Dodge rolls all day. I got Dark Souls remastered on Switch and decided to try a sorcery build. 50 Int 16 str 12 DeX rest to attument/ Endurance/Vit. I breezed through most bosses, Capra and Nito being the only challengers.

Decide to test out fighting Gwyn see how hard he is with this easy mode.

I killed him with 4 Crystal Soul Spears in a row. First attempt. There was absolutely no thrill or challenge. It left me completely empty. Is sorcery that overpowered on NG that it's completely a joke?

I think I have to restart my game :(

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 10:11 PM PST

Stuck at the bottom of the catacombs because I fell down a hole to get to that giant blacksmith skeleton dude Did this without activating a bridge first so now I can't go up

I ended up killing pinwheel but that just led me to an impossibly dark spot in the tomb of giants with those giant skeletons I can't kill

Do I have to restart my game? :(

I want to Sunbro for O&S but need advice

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 07:11 PM PST

O&S is my favorite boss in the series, and I've beaten them a couple times (on a STR, INT, and DEX builds), but not without racking up over 50 deaths to them. Now I want to create a Sunbro to help other people out in Anor Londo and with O&S, but I've never done a Sunbro build before.

I'm a parry God so I was thinking about using the silver Knight straight sword and doing DEX, but parries don't help on O&S. My other idea was going strength with Zwei.

What's the best SL and WL combo to be able to help the most people, and how do I even do a Sunbro build? Also any advice on SKSW vs Zwei would also help!! Thanks, Bros! And praise the sun!!

Edit: I really love all of Anor Londo, so I'm not trying to be confined to the boss fight. Sunbros can't really help with the platforming of the first part, so I'm going to be placing my summon sign in the bonfire room with solaire

i got past the mandatory death by Seath but now i'm cursed and have no way to lift it and the lower health keeps me trapped in the archives. I'm playing a sorcerer.

Does anyone have advice on what i should do?

EDIT: I made it out by wearing Ornstein's Armour and the crest shield

I'm hosting a arena at the Painted World of Ariamis, anyone between the Soul level 70-80 is more than welcome to join! Just lay down your sign or use a red eye at the bonfire.

What is wrong with my Zweihandler

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 11:41 PM PST

My Zweihandler scales better with Dex than strength. I'm really confused. This is dark souls 1 btw and my Zwei is +10 and not infused with anything.

    Secod playtrough personal toughts

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 11:27 PM PST

So, im on my second playthrough with my dex character and wearing mostly wanderer armor and balder side sword. So far everything is 3x easier. Only real problem was capra deamon, only died once to four kings, O&S was peace of cake, killed em first try, anor londo archers first try( died to them at least 10 times on my first playthrough). Bad of chaos is next, then catacombs and giants.. Didnt play dlc first time, so now im going to. What realy bothers me now is how some levels are cheaply made, lost izilath for example. The world down there is not that bad, but so many capra deamons and those great deamons and dinosaur like deamons looks so cheap. Yesterday i was for the first time at Ash lake, and comparing that level to firelink shrine or undead burg or parish i felt like im playing gothic 1 in regard to graphics and emptyness, and there was nothing important to find down there. Boss was the same hydra from the forest. Anor londo on first glance looks amazing, but its so empty and it looks like unfinished textures. Dont get me wrong, this is one special game, but some inconsistencies in quality are obvious. Im playing on switch.

    Is it just me...

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 02:34 AM PST

... or the Fallen Knight set, or at least the Fallen Knight Helm from DS3 is a reference to Revan from SWKotOR? I mean, like, the visual similarity is strong with this one, and again, "fallen knight" - Revan being one of the best written "fallen/redeemed" (or not eheheh) knight characters in gaming. Just wanna know what you guys'n'gals think, because I've been suddenly hit with this thought and now can't do a darn to get rid of it.

    Dark Souls Compendium??

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 02:21 AM PST

I'm really interested in getting a book on the Dark Souls series, and assume the compendium is the way to go. Does anyone know the best place to buy one? Looks like they cost a fortune...

Alternatively, is there a book for each game that could serve the same purpose?

    Whelp, there goes 30 hours...

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 04:52 PM PST

TLDR: Tried to reload an area for certain items and now bonfires reset to unlit / unkindled form, NPCs reset to beginning of their questlines, and I don't hollow upon death. This has happened twice through NG+.

So, I don't exactly know what I did or how I did it, but I bugged my game pretty badly. I was heading to Nito Burrito on NG+ when I decided to exit the game just before the fog gate to reload Leeroy's corpse in the boss room. Upon logging back in, I found myself at the beginning of the Tomb of the Giants. I thought that was odd, so I used a homeward bone to warp back to the second bonfire in the area. The bonfire was unlit and no longer kindled. I was a little confused, but I decided to press on, after lighting and rekindling the bonfire. After defeating Nito Burrito, I warped to Firelink Shrine, where the bonfire was, again, unkindled. I decided to investigate by warping to all the other bonfires I had access to on NG+. They were all unlit and unkindled. Furthermore, upon talking to various NPCs, I found out they were reintroducing themselves to me. Apparently, all the quests I had started (Solaire, Siegmeyer, etc) reset. Siegmeyer was stuck in the swamp having no desire to ask for Purple Moss and Solaire was stuck at the bonfire immediately after the Demon Centipede. Furthermore, whenever I died, I never went hollow, I just respawned at the bonfire in human form. Now, I wouldn't have had too much of a problem with this, if it weren't for the fact that everything reset again after beating Kalameet and reloading the area for the crystal lizard. I think the file is bugged and no longer playable, which is sad because I put forth the effort to farm 80+ Souvenir of Reprisal.

Is this file just completely screwed?
