I've always wondered, why is that thin cave area right in between the tutorial area and majula always absolutely drenched in bloodstains?

Considering doing a Broken Straightsword Only run of DS2

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 08:27 AM PST

I just finished a run with a STR/HEX build and want to try something a bit more challenging, so I am considering doing BSS only.

What is the best way to get an old mundane stone early in the game? Dino trades? Any way that's more...consistent? Does a crystal lizard before Mcduff happen to give one?

Edit: another option would be a Raw infusion in the early game until I get my stats aligned for mundane.

Getting the Loyce souls is a arduous task.

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 02:03 PM PST

I have finally made it to twenty, and holy hell this is a slow process. If I am lucky I get two a trip, but more often than not either one or none. Getting tons of charred Loyce armor, but ugh.

    Anyone have any tips?

I haven't killed the boss yet, and am using helm of avarice and tattered top, with rusted coins.

Also with the rusted coins, how long does it last, does it last even if you feather out, or if you die?

    Extra Insolent Armor set?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 01:45 PM PST

Anyone got some extra pieces of this set? It'll really tie my character's whole image together but I just can't seem to get any of it to drop, and I'm running with all my item discovery gear, help would be dope. Praise the Sun.

    Dark Souls 2 Servers

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 01:39 PM PST

I have a doubt about dark souls 2 is just to know if the last two days the server is offline for you

Do you think Dark Souls 2 is the best souls? why?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 01:37 PM PST

The question is simple and objective. You must have played both games (DS1 and DS3) to comment.

If your opinion is that he is the worst or the neutral, comment.

Intent of the topic: Knowing the points that DS2 players value and which they don't care

    Build question

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 08:41 AM PST

Ok I'm playing sotfs on ng+ right now and trying to figure out if my build is decent for a 254 character Vgr 31 End 20 Vit 20 Atn 40 Str 60 Dex 25 Adp 20 Int 62 Fth 32 So I was just wondering trying to go from a 99 int/atn build that has the magic staff of wisdom +10

Well, I may not have killed all the bosses in this game, but I did beat it. I guess that counts for something.

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 05:28 PM PST

I still feel empty and like I failed since I couldn't kill Elana and Fume Knight and never got to Darklurker, Sinh, Lud/Zallen, Sir Alonne, and the Gank Squad, but uh...I beat it....

    Menu boss help for noob

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 06:37 AM PST

When it comes to RPG's there is one enemy that is more troublesome to me than tough bosses, ganks, gravity, and even the camera- menus. I never completely figure out menus. Dark Souls 2 offers another tough menu challenge.

I am on PS4 with Scholar of the First Sin, and previously have played DS:remastered and Bloodborne.

How do I see exactly my total weight capacity? I am assuming that the fast/mid/fat roll mechanics from DS1 apply vis-a-vis weight. I can see my character has 55 "equipment load" when looking at the player menu but I am not sure if that is my capacity or more likely the weight of what I actually had. DS1 would have a ratio, like 55/120 telling me exactly how burdened I am relative to what I can do, and I would like to see the same thing now.

Also how do I see the attack power I actually have? I had this same problem in DS1 until I eventually found it- the weapon stats on display by themselves don't take into account scaling, so when choosing a weapon wouldn't we want to see its effect with the current character.

Then when looking at weapons it doesn't say what level you upgraded it to. I know I upgraded my mace a couple times but I don't remember if it's +2 or +3 or whatever, how do you see that?

    TIA

    First time Souls Player!

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 12:34 AM PST

    Hey guys,

Yep, I've finally decided to pick up a souls game and get in on the action. II SOTFS was on OFFER and with all the comments about this game being 'different', I wanted to start there.

So far I'm really loving the challenge and atmosphere, I get the same feeling as I did back in the day playing the first diablo which is always good. However I'm having one little issue.

I don't know what the hell is going on half the time, especially with storyline and lore. One minute I'm speaking to a woman in the town, then some dude who loves maps gives me a key and the next thing I'm fighting a tree giant mofo in some cave without any clue why or how I got there? I've had to read the plot summary to find that out. Is this normal? Or am I missing something?

Any help on how to better get into the story is appreciated as I don't wanna feel like I'm just running through a game aimlessly, if that makes sense. Am I not picking up hidden notes or any other shit like that that do some explaining?

Thanks in advance and I'm glad I've finally got round to playing the series

(EDIT - Explained now, cheers peeps)

    Lud and Zallen, really bad?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 04:57 PM PST

Do you think this boss is really bad?

Honestly, I like Lud and Zallen, I find the fight fun and challenging, I feel that some attacks are faster compared to Aava too.

It is a fact that the boss is not creative, but honestly, I don't really care about that in this specific case.

What do you think about this fight? thanks.

    Doors of Pharros despawn

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 07:43 PM PST

I've got SotFS physically for PS3, and I know there's some differences from PS4 like the enemy placement is still the same etc. I've come across a strange issue. In Grave of Saints, the Rat Bros will not despawn no matter how many times I run through. I figured the same would be for Doors of Pharros as I've farmed Lockstones in PS4 before, but the Rat Bros have started Despawning! Any thoughts?? I play in Offline mode mainly if it's relevant.

How many Fragrant Branches do I have to use to reach Straid?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 02:59 PM PST

I have two but is there a way around the one blocking the entrance by where you come in after killing the pursuer? I know you have to use one on him but do you have to use another to reach him?
