I thought ive been clever. If i destroy the wooden chests, then there cant be crossbows in them.. Posted: 15 Nov 2019 02:15 AM PST Guess who has just...too much rubbish? Luckily i havent done it with all of the wooden chests...but a lot of them. And i even thought rubbish could be traded like in dark souls 1. Nope worthless.im pissed also, just found out you can talk to spirit npcs. I totally uzed the dragonridwr soul for nothing since straid wouldnt take it and the bugeyed jerks killed crow lady gah. This is a blind first time playthroigh but after finding these out...i dunno. [link] [comments] |
DS2 has a completely different feeling associated with it Posted: 15 Nov 2019 10:50 AM PST Hey everyone. I started playing DS3 around a month and a half ago and basically became addicted to the series. I picked up DS2: SOTFS and DSR in the process. After running through DS3 twice, I decided to give DS2 a go. After all, I wanted to check out the more controversial game in the series. So far, I can say that it has a completely different "feel" than DS3 and the little bit of DS1 that I played. And I mean that in the best way possible. While playing it, I've tried to see it as it is alone rather than what it is compared to the other two games. Overall, I'm really enjoying it. I feel like more of an explorer/adventurer in the game and its world. I feel like I can chill out from time to time in the game and just enjoy myself and the game's lore from the slower pace rather than constantly being high on adrenaline. Not only that, but I feel like the builds are far more customizable and I can really hone in on the RPG aspect. I'm trying to do my first playthrough pretty much blind so I can experience being lost and figuring things out for myself. So yeah, this post is kind of unimportant, but I just thought I'd let you know that I think DS2 is pretty cool and enjoyable in its own right and I haven't even progressed that far. I hope it just gets better and better, especially with the DLC. By the way, I'm thinking of going for a Strength/Intelligence build. Any weapons/items you think I should be on the lookout for when I pick them up? [link] [comments] |

The Rotten Bonfire Astetic not working properly (PC SOFTS) Posted: 15 Nov 2019 01:28 PM PST I've wasted 2 Bonfire Aestetics on this damn thing, I killed the rotten and used the Aestetic at the bonfire just before the suicide run through the handsy-wiggly bois and the 2 worms (where you usually get invaded by gully/forlorn with all the annoying poison spitters, you know the one.) I'm aware that you have to use the Aestetic at the nearest bonfire but as far as i could search there is no one closer (and it'd be DS3 levels of "too many bonfires if there was one any closer somehow) to the boss gate. The only issue I could think of its that the first time I burned one, I had not yet lit the primal bonfire, as I homeward bone-d and was intent on getting my free souls off farming him before i progressed. Is there something I'm missing or am i just screwed? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Nov 2019 04:46 PM PST I just started my very first play through and i'm on the dragon rider. I roll through to get i frames and not take damage but no matter how the timing is i always take damage so is rolling not useful at all in this game? Edit: Thank you for the answers! I was so used to dark souls 3 i didnt know adp helped anything! [link] [comments] |
To the guy that told me you could summon Bashful for the dual pursuer fight. Posted: 15 Nov 2019 01:33 AM PST I fucking love you. Spent an hour before I finally looked for tips, beat then in 20 seconds after the tip. [link] [comments] |
Red NG+ phantoms suceptible to bleed? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 01:00 PM PST I was struggling with the red phantom on the Drangleic stairs and decided to try something different for me. I started throwing lacerating knives after an attack sequence, and after four knives the Red Phantom would slow down enough to hit him with a couple soul arrows. Three bleeds were enough to take him out. Anybody try this on other phantoms? [link] [comments] |
New DS2 player post: advice, tips, etc Posted: 15 Nov 2019 06:41 AM PST New player (PS4) starting the game this weekend looking for tips and advice. For reference my history with FromSoftware games is a while back when I had a PC I got DS2 on some sale without truly understanding what the series was, I just like fantasy/RPG, and I rage quit pretty hard and fast. Then when I read about the games I did have a desire to eventually one day actualy beat one. Then I got a PS4 and Bloodborne about 2 years ago. After much raging and quitting then finally getting the hang of parry and beating the game with platinum and DLC (save-spam for the ending so no NG+). Then just recently platinum DS:remastered (also after much raging and quitting especially with O&S). I am offline exclusive now as I generally just don't like on-line gaming, competitive PvP stuff, so stopped paying for the PS+. I like exploring and progressing through beautiful interesting game worlds by myself and don't want to be bothered with other humans invading me or whatever. My play style in games in general is to favor speed and aggression, because I'd rather fail more times quicker than fewer times slower. Bloodborne was probably the best one for me to finish because it favors that approach. Adjusting to DS1's more deliberate pace was a struggle but worth it once I figured out how to navigate the world. I started as most probably do, just focusing on melee, health, stamina. When I found a good farming spot I added Faith and Pyro to my game to experience more of the game's mechanics but only found a couple of the Miracles useful for support (heal, warp to bonfire). For actual combat the only thing that ever was effective was smashing stuff with a big sword, using shields for long-range protection, bows for cheap distance patience kills, and parrying whenever possible. What I know about DS2 is that when I die I will lose health bar which is terrifying, but oh well. I'm assuming things like healing at bonfires, needing to invest wisely in character stats and NPC summons are still applicable (yeah I summon NPC's, look up guides and even USB save-spam if it helps me avoid rage-quitting). How does magic compare? If in DS1 I found it to be mostly useless except for in a few spots. I was planning on investing mostly in whatever improves health, stamina, and some sort of "strength" equivalent (in DS1 I started doing both Str and Dex since weapons like longsword were scaling with both, then I put more in Str once I had the Zweihander). DS1 I felt really rewards Str builds more than Dex- is there something equivalent in DS2? What are some key things to look out for early on? Items or weapons that can help avoid some major needless frustration. Nothing too crazy- I'm not talking about some insane suicide run to a late-game area to get a popular weapon, I just mean like some early easy upgrades or configurations or dialogues that help. More importantly if I freaking loved Bloodborne enough to consider it a top 10 all-time game, found DS1 interesting and enjoyable enough to appreciate its reputation while frequently being angry at some of its bullshit, what am I in for with DS:2? Save transfer xbox one to pc (Scholar of the first sin) Posted: 15 Nov 2019 11:54 AM PST Is there a way to transfer my xbox one saves on pc (steam)? Im thinking of selling my xbox one but i have so much time invested in my ds2 games and i dont want to lose them [link] [comments] |
Good miracles and where they can be found? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 11:45 AM PST Hey everyone I'm kinda new to DS2 (about 15 hours clocked in) and I'm making some decent progress. I picked cleric and I've decided to run a build focused on miracles. I was wondering which miracles I should get and where they can be found? Also, is there a catalyst that can cast pyromancies, sorceries, miracles, and hexes all from one staff/chime/whatever? Thank you in advance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Nov 2019 11:42 AM PST I'm running a scimitar/katana build with Havel's set, shield and all, for the majority of the game. Blew through almost all bosses so far, but starting on the DLC and I'm running into issues with Elana. I've gotten her close but its kind of a crapshoot. My SL is in the 200 or so range, if anyone wants to help (I'm not at home can edit to be specific when I am) [link] [comments] |
Just beat the sentinals, gargoyles and flame king boy. Here are my thoughts. Posted: 15 Nov 2019 03:25 AM PST The sentinals blasted my ass too many times to count. Granted they were my third boss encounter since i tpok the bird and didnt know better but even up until i finally managed to beat them..areas and bosses later, they still put up a fight. Until i finally made my club a +8 along with the right strength and shield i could never get them. Super rewarding fight and now that ive beat them i realise they are basically the four kings. A dps check. The gargoyles were easy. I dont know if its because i have played against the other gargoyles on ds1 so much or brcause i was getring off my high of finally beating the sentinals, but they just seemed to be a hit and run battle i til you started picking them off.super fun though. Fire king boy was...well. Lets just say that i died to that tiny pool of lava up against the wall more times then to him. In fact i only died to actual damage from him once. Getting a good shield, nd the dodging right not to mention staying by the door you came in from made me finally win instead of grtting blasted into that magnet hole. All in all, im looking forward to the three other great souls and the bosses leading to them. I should probably head back and kill the smelter boy as well. Piece! Fire king boy [link] [comments] |
Is it normal to not notice bonfires in Crown of Sunken king DLC? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 06:29 AM PST currently im doing it and second bonfire i found was in dragon sanctum lair of inperfect [link] [comments] |
Hold up. Was Sinh the slumbering dragon easy or i was just op? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 08:26 AM PST Its my first playthrough of souls game so wtf. i beat him first try. Even Elana was harder. im NOT trying to brag. Was fighting him at SL 170 [link] [comments] |
Any good fashion combos for the Old Bell Helm? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 08:15 AM PST Besides the bell keeper set. One, I don't really like the look of it, second I already spent 5 hours farming the mad warrior for rank 2 for the Platinum and I am not doing that shit 70 more times. Any suggestions are appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Nov 2019 07:47 AM PST OK- I am spending crazy amounts of time trying to take this guy down. I have the four giants' souls needed to reduce his defenses, but my weapons still don't seem to be hitting too hard. Does he just have a large health pool? Is there anything I can buff my swords with to increase damage? Honestly, only Rom from Bloodborne took me longer to defeat than this guy. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Nov 2019 01:45 PM PST It was 150 hours playing this game. Negative points:
Dark Souls 2 may be inferior to all games in the Dark Souls franchise today; It's terrible that the game was released that way. These bold points are key points for building a game; You will not see any excellent game failing at all these points. Good points:
(I will add more positives and negatives) I will simply explain all the negative aspects of the game.
Conclusion: The biggest point for playing Dark Souls 2 is PvP, as PvE is impaired by the negative points. The game is bad for Dark Souls, but compared to current games, it's even a "good game". [link] [comments] |
Help me Farm Sunlight Medals-Xbox One Posted: 14 Nov 2019 10:25 PM PST I finally got all but two achievements: the miracle one, and of course the dark soul. But my character is like tier 40 soul memory and the player base is so low anyways. Offline farming with best item discovery equipment on falconers and banediggers yielded 1 sunlight medal in multiple hours. It's not worth it to 100% the game if that drop rate continues, so does anyone need some help with any bosses/want someone to play with? Message ManateeMan37 Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Nov 2019 05:52 AM PST I stumbled upon u/DTPandemonium 's extinction run post from a year+ ago. I'm just curious how that ended up as I was contemplating a similar DS2 run.
Before I commit to that kind of punishment, I'm curious how the other extinction run went. [link] [comments] |
Why is this game so different from ds1 and ds3 Posted: 15 Nov 2019 04:40 AM PST So I've played and beaten every soulsborne except DS2. To me it's the hardest game for me to fight in. I love the location and the music to all the areas I've made it to but I've never been able to get more than 15ish hours in before I give up. The combination of the I frames feeling way different than they do in the other games along with the losing your health with each death makes the game so much harder to me.. I'm just curious if anyone has any tips for going into this game and beating it... I always make it to roughly the same area before quitting. It's a lava filled area with a bull boss in a very small room.. that's always where I flake... I want to love this game like all the others but maybe I need to change my playstyle? Idk. I'm just looking for someone who knows this game really well that can maybe give me some tips on differences between this game and the others so I can maybe have more clarity trying to beat it... I finally got my Vanquisher's Seal Posted: 14 Nov 2019 06:10 PM PST It's so fun, I beat the main story with just Powerstanced bandit knives, but I wanted more of a challenge on bosses I skipped to save time, and dlc bosses. Hardest figuy as a boxer is Sir Alonne but I'm sure he'll fall to the might of my punches soon, both Smelter Demons were surprisingly easy, Old Dragonslayer didn't take long to beat(five or six hits) Belfry Gargoyles and Ruin Sentinels were the easiest. The only bosses I feel like I actually did something with were Aava, Fume Knight, intensity 2 Giant Lord, and King Vendrick. What do you all think, should I do a full bare fisted NG+ run after I finish off the remaining boss fights in the dlc and off Darklurker? Or a 100% bare fist? [link] [comments] |
