Bell Gargoyles, inktober / fan art Posted: 14 Oct 2019 12:18 PM PDT https://www.deviantart.com/peterlof/art/Bell-Gargoyles-Belfry-Gargoyles-816787400 Drawing all ninetysome bosses from Dark Souls 1 through 3, and the Bell Gargoyles where up. For this one I tried to do the moody Batman aesthetic, basically where lots of rain is falling in a moon-lit night. Materials are fineliners and brush pen for blacks, and a white gel pen for the rain, A4 paper. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Oct 2019 01:11 PM PDT I recently met a girl at my homecoming dance (11th grade) and we've been talking for 3 weeks, and we like eachother alot. She discovered I like dark souls, and actually wants to try it. I cant believe it. She's super into the lore and design and loves the story behind the fallen city of the gods, anor londo. This is a momentous occasion [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Oct 2019 06:25 AM PDT God, I had forgotten how disappointing the fight against Gwyn was. Just completed a run on the remaster, and I was excited when I got to Gwyn because I had forgotten how underwhelming he was. How unfit for a God to be riposted into oblivion. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Oct 2019 02:23 AM PDT Never tried it in all of my Dark Souls Playthroughs, but is there actually a point to shield infusion in Dark Souls 1? [link] [comments] |
Dark Souls Remastered and the man who fears no dragon Posted: 14 Oct 2019 11:13 PM PDT Well i had an awful idea these days and i was completely fixed on doing it, like to the point of spending lots of my time on it. I wanna share in case there are other fools like me who wanna try this. What i wanted and dreamed about, to get in close with the Bridge Wyvern and have a manly confrontation, not arrow him, not roll under him, but straight up run into him with my shield held high, hold off his flames and smash him in the head, even once made me happy. So, new game, dodge the dragon, gather all items needed. Black Iron set +5 (build armor 1) Black Iron Greatshield +15 (build shield 1) Flame Stoneplate ring ( build ring 1) Havel's Ring ( help ring 1) Havel's set (build armor 2) Crystal Tower Shield +5 (90 stability, build shield 2) Wolf's ring ( build ring 2, poise through damage instead of shielding from it) Ring of favor and protection (help ring 2, more stamina means i can shield for more time) - I constantly swapped between these items to find the right combination. Farm like crazy. 50 endurance 50 strength 40 vitality 40 resistance (jokes on you) 30 others - his flames did like 130-200 damage with this builds, completely negligible. - although i would often still get staggered and forced down, sometimes i managed to stay up, usually when i was full stamina, by walking towards him instead of running. - even two handing the shield didn't help, you will most time be falling down. - if you are close to him while he's sitting on the tower you will still get one shotted (i used the firelink bonfire not the shortcut/undead burg bonfire), meaning he won't spit flames until i'm very close almost by the crossbow hollows, basically under him.) - there is a small small opening, if you take your time , walk towards him even after you fall down, if you time it properly, wait in front of him before the animation starts then jump by him when he spits fire, you can have time for a hit, before he goes for the flames from above attack or turns his back and jumps away. - when he goes for the toe smash attack, same conditions, you can negate his attack if you already started one of your own, for me was the combo strong attack of a claymore, so first hit a weak attack then combo it at the right timing so you won't take damage, it's a bug i think. - he will sometimes fly out at random if you are behind him, i mean fly out from the bridge and start flying the sky. - i actually managed to get his tail by enduring the flames and passing by him. - i encountered this bug when he would teleport back to the tower, in a fraction of second basically. By NG+ and beyond this thing it's impossible because of the huge damage he'll output, almost 1400 dmg per breath. Yeah he runs 99% of the time and you won't last long enough to get your hands on him. But if you are patient enough you can, in theory, kill him like this. Although i didn't manage it. Make sure you have some high damage, Demon Greataxe +15 and the sunlight blade. Or you can use distance attack weapons, like Moonlight Greatsword or Dragon King Greatsword. You should have humanities at you, besides the 20 flasks. It may take an hour until you manage to hit him. So yeah, i am completely disappointed, thank you Dark Souls (i'd expect nothing less). Do you have any thoughts?. Any other things i could've done to make this possible? Maybe i'll do a video about this stuff, if things come out nicely. [link] [comments] |

What is the purpose of the open chest in Firelink Shrine (DS1)? Posted: 15 Oct 2019 12:27 AM PDT So I think that many of you have seen that in the pool in Firelink Shrine, next to an statue right behind the spot where Frampt appears there is an open chest. I have always wondered what's the purpose of it, if Frampt leaves items there or if maybe it is merely a decoration. BTW right now I am close to finishing Anor Londo, so if there is indeed a reason the chest is there then feel free to say "you'll know later". [link] [comments] |
How to make Shiva a merchant and join Forest hunter convenant? Posted: 14 Oct 2019 10:51 PM PDT I need the Demon Great Machete from him but i dont know what do i need to do to buy it from him [link] [comments] |
So fishing here, but where was I going on this character? Posted: 15 Oct 2019 06:20 AM PDT I only see soul of Quelaag in inventory. Any help lol? Doesn't matter I suppose but character is SL 39. Cleric. I can't figure out where I was going on this one... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Oct 2019 10:35 PM PDT I'm on my first playtrough, i just killed Gaping Dragon (which is surprisingly easy). Now i'm heading down into Blighttown, but i don't think i can handle the enemies yet. I don't know if it supposed to be that punishing or because i still use default armor and shield ? I wonder if i should change my armor or i'm heading the wrong way. Especially the Toxin archer is super annoying. My weapon is Zweihander+1 i'm running an STR build. Also what's with the giant rat in the Depths ? Is it just a decoration or i can actually fight it ? I start with Bandit class btw. EDIT : Ok people i'm going back to upgrade my stuff, let's see if it makes thing easier, that's a damn long walk back though. [link] [comments] |

At the end of my blind first playthrough Posted: 14 Oct 2019 06:15 PM PDT Only need to kill Gwyn now and what a fucking journey it has been. I can't believe all the stuff I missed with regards to the platinum. Probably gonna need 2 more playthroughs to get everything but this game is awesome. I totally fucking hated blighttown, probably spent 6 hours inching my way down to Queelag but going back it doesn't nearly seem that bad as people make it out to be. Tomb of Giants without a light source though, fuck that. Just super excited, that is all. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Oct 2019 04:33 AM PDT Hey guys, So the whole reason I came to Dark Souls is that I saw it as a game about a knight fighting against the evils of the world from the trailers and stuff. I realize it's more than that now that I'm past Anor Londo. However, something has always felt off with the armor in this game. The default Knight Armor has leather patches and stuff all over it as well as brown gloves and boots, the Elite Knight is straight-up wearing a tabard, and while I love the Silver Knight gauntlets and boots, the cape is a real deal-breaker for me. I've tried Tarkus' set, but the skirt is a massive turn-off. Anyone have any ideas for my "Knight in Shining Armor" or should I just deal with it until I get Artorias' armor and use a mod to restore it? Edit: I should mention that the set I'm rocking right now is the silver knight armor, gloves, and boots and elite knight helm. [link] [comments] |
finally beat ornstein and smough! Posted: 14 Oct 2019 02:06 PM PDT i'm so fucking elated right now, i feel like i'm walking on air. is this what "gitting gud" feels like? this is honestly just the best feeling. honestly, i never felt cheated nor angry while fighting them. it was just so goddamn enjoyable, that i just want to jump in and do it again. Give me your best challenge run idea! Posted: 15 Oct 2019 12:27 AM PDT I've never attempted a challenge run and want something thats going to give me some difficulty but also be interesting at the same time. I'll pick the best post and roll with it! Can be for any game in the souls trilogy Otherwise I'm thinking: Sorcery/miracle only run (no melee) No death/no bonfire run ds2 SOTFS [link] [comments] |
Why's gwynevere way bigger than other gods? Posted: 14 Oct 2019 07:25 AM PDT Gwynevere is shown to be way taller and bigger in the game. Not just in the illusion, even in artworks where she stands next to Gwyn's knights she's like twice their size. Also she mated with Seath which I imagine will be a little harder to do if she was the same size as Gwyn. Does the game make any attempt to explain that? Has fromsoft ever explained why bosses are much bigger in general? Like the bosses who were normal people before everything went to shit (Dancer of the Boreal valley, Gael etc.) [link] [comments] |
Are there any infinite souls glitches left in Dark Souls: Remastered? Posted: 14 Oct 2019 09:17 PM PDT I want to get my character to SL 710 lol. Just as a joke. I know there was one glitch in the original that involved using Grass crest, Chloranthy Ring, and the Dragon covenant. Does it still work? [link] [comments] |
Time for a whole new challenge run Posted: 14 Oct 2019 11:13 PM PDT Just got GeForce now on my phone and am going to use the on screen controls the whole game. Even gundyr was difficult with them [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Oct 2019 02:46 AM PDT So ive sorta played DS before, my brother used to play it a lot and i spent about 15/20 minutes having a bash about 6 years ago in the middle of a playthrough so didnt really have a clue... Ive just picked up DS3 and started as a theif, just got to firelink so barely even started, havent died yet which may or may not be an achievement idk but im wondering if there are any items/armour/weapons i need to be on the look out for or any particular direction i should be going with level ups etc or if i should of chosen a different class? So far im enjoying the class but ive been told on my first 70+ plays ill end up as a knight after a few hours😂 Im essentially going for a fast moving close quarters kind of character with decent ranged/bow skill so if theres anything i should know id appreciate the help [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Oct 2019 08:43 PM PDT Hey guys just joined the DS reddit, been playing DS for a while now and I restarted the game with a chaos rapier build. Currently rocking chaos rapier +2 and really struggling with killing Ornstein and Smough, I want the ring Ornstein drops any recommendations build wise? [link] [comments] |
Returning to Lordran after 7 years. Posted: 14 Oct 2019 11:32 AM PDT Good evening fellow undead. I don't know why I'm posting this but I just had a very introspective experience while playing Dark Souls Remastered and I wanted to share it here in hopes that any fellow returning players could relate to my pain. I used to be absolutely obsessed with DS1 when it came out, I was about 13 years old and I accidentally bought the game cause the cover looked cool at Gamestop back in 2011. The first Dark Souls game had me obsessed, I couldn't stop thinking about it and I easily sunk hundreds of my impressionable preteen hours into this game and then later the DLC, the first dark souls sparked an obsession in me that I've never had for a game before and that carried over to the second installment, then Bloodborne and then the third. I've been playing these games constantly from my early teens until now. However I just turned 22 and I recently moved out of my parents place and I'm now living with my girlfriend. And as adult life started creeping in on me I've had less and less time to play videogames, as it goes. My girlfriend however got me Dark Souls Remastered and a Nintendo Switch for my birthday (she got it pretty cheap second hand) and I didn't think I had it in me but it sparked the same obsession from those early teenage years. I haven't explored Lordran since 2012 when the Artorias DLC came out and after all these years I'm quite surprised to see how much of this game still surprises me at times and that it's actually aged farily well. However I have one gripe: And that is that Dark Souls doesn't feel the same for me anymore, I'm older now and more experienced with these games. I've played them over and over for 8 years and I just wish so much that I could experience this masterpiece for the first time again. I wish I could be 13 and die over and over in blighttown, or be stuck again in the Catacombs for several days, I wish I could get absolutely curbstomped by O&S 100 times once more just so I could rise from the bonfire and do it all over just to succeed this time and break down in triumph after the glorious "Victory Achieved" screen, just one more time. I love this game but the memory of a younger me getting flabbergasted at every new area haunts me while I'm playing it and I can't help but feel a bit hollow, like I will never be able to return to that childlike wonder again. I rarely get sentimental but I just smashed Artorias face in on the first try, a boss that literally took me weeks 7 years ago, who now fell to a naked guy with a stick on my first attempt, this used to be my favorite boss in all of gaming of all time just because of the memory it carried. Now when I stared at the Victory screen once more all I could feel was a bit empty, maybe it's just part of growing up. Thank you for reading this rant, now don't you dare go hollow. edit: Can't count years and also my English is awful, sorry, it's not my first language. [link] [comments] |
Ornstein cannonically died first Posted: 14 Oct 2019 12:38 PM PDT I know that there's a running theory that Ornstein is an illusion in dark souls 1, due to Smoughs armour reading "the last knight to stand in defense of the ruined cathedral." But that makes no sense to me. If it was an illusion you wouldn't get the dragonslayers soul from killing Ornstein, nor would Smough power up from killing him. Doesn't it make far more sense that Ornstein left to find the nameless king, and came back? His armour reads "In the dragonless age, this knight, who long guarded the ruined cathedral, left the land in search of the nameless king." Nothing about that suggests his death, the only hint is his armour, but that has no body with it. I think he left to find Farram and came back, more than likely turned after seeing the storm drake he rode upon. His armour abandoned in defeat after a fight, or a symbol of what the nameless king once stood for. [link] [comments] |
