I first played ot on my X1 and beat it a million times but on ps3 its a whole new game, and I love it. Different enemy placements then next gen so it's unexpected. | Posted: 15 Oct 2019 12:11 PM PDT it's me again! another update in low sm adventures! i started a fresh character. here is how it looks: knight lvl 24 (base stats except for the following) vig 17 str 13 dex 12 rapier +10 broadsword +10 (upgraded from brume tower +7 one) large club +10 (upgraded from frozen eleum loyce +8 one) agape ring flynn's ring ROB +1 ring of the embedded king's crown desert sorceress top peasant long gloves (to get over 88 agi) flower skirt i do not use a shield but i two hand. my SM is exactly 39999, which afforded me the above upgrades and levelling, with about 700 leftover which i used for lightning arrows. it feels so good to beat the game with minimal soul investment, and actually plan out my levelling and strategies. i thought the DLCs would be impossible, but turns out they are not. i did have a friend help me with sihn and with blue smelter demon (he helped me with fume knight on another file). he also gave me confidence to do frigid outskirts after we attemped to get to lud and zallen a few times. he had to go to bed but i was then able to beat lud and zallen with the npc phantoms helping. the next step in my journey is to do a low sm build without summoning phantoms, and possibly a no death no bonfire low sm (which probably requires santier's spear). i have farmed a decent number of arrows, resins, human effigies, and once i clear the last three bosses, i am going to do ng+ with this character. it's kind of astounding how much fun i am having with a game that cost me 10 dollars on sale on steam, and is a few years old now. my play time is around 350 hours, and i got the game about a month and a half ago. i am shocked at how amazing dark souls 2 is. | Started this game using a mage build. Not feeling it though. Posted: 15 Oct 2019 03:55 AM PDT So I decided to finally play Scholar (I played the original) and change it up and go for an INT build. However I'm just not feeling yet. Just entered Last Bastille and feeling my way around (been so long since I played the game). Currently I only have two spells and using a rapier. But the build just feels so weak. Unlike a high-level HEX build I tried years ago, and unlike the mage build in DS1. So is this normal? Does it pick up? Are mage builds just lackluster in this game? | Posted: 15 Oct 2019 10:24 AM PDT I always thought that to 2-hand a weapon, the weapon stat requirements had to be equal or lower than 1.5 your stats. Like, you can 2-hand the basic axe at SL1 because it's max requirement is only 9 (1.5x6). And now I'm (a SL1 with the dex ring) trying to 2-hand the rapier, which should totally work (str9, dex12). But no, it won't. Does the 1.5 rule works only for one stat? What am I missing here? (and, no, I'm not planning to run all down Brume Tower to get the str ring). [link] [comments] |

Yesterday after quitting to the title screen (Press Start), I alt+f4'd instead of pressing starting and quitting (cause it's faster). Now the game won't start! | Which Non-hostile NPC is the strongest? Posted: 15 Oct 2019 02:02 PM PDT Out of all the NPCs which don't attack the player unless provoked, which one is the strongest combatwise? | 2019 , white window crash on start up Posted: 15 Oct 2019 01:31 PM PDT been trying many fixes and nothing seams to work. i have a rx480 amd card, with 16GB ram and fully updated drivers. the old fix dosent seem to work and the AMD catalyst was replaced by their new redeon setting ive uninstalled/reinstalled the game many times and already tried the gpu scaling fix, and nothing seams to help. | First time(mostly blind) with dark souls 2 Sotfs and it's not clicking Posted: 15 Oct 2019 01:22 PM PDT I've beaten DS remastered at level 5 and DS3 around level 10(it's been a while). I played for about 2 hours, and couldn't seem to find anything really. I finally found a couple bosses, and those aren't bad but navigating the game & the spacing are just refusing to make sense to me, rolls seem pretty useless(even at next to no equip load, and the weapons seem to lack range/hitboxes I'm determined to beat it for completions sake but could really use advice or tips on how to adjust from other souls titles I started as a cleric(probably bad based on the couple searches I did on clerics) And I am currently rocking the old knight greatsword, hoping to find something less... Posted: 14 Oct 2019 04:06 PM PDT I love the design of the Spears (Lightning/Sunlight) but as we know those miracles were heavily nerfed back then, i gave up on miracles after i read the notes so i didn't even know how the damage is now, i want to give another shot on miracles for offense purposes, specially spear since the other miracles i can't rely too much due the randomness, thank you all! Posted: 14 Oct 2019 06:11 PM PDT On my previous game, I beat the game, restarted through Majula, had two phantoms come at me almost right away and was like "wow this shit is gonna be hard" Fast forward to my next character, I'm now at harvest valley, and besides a couple hiccups, this game is actually slightly easier than the original NG.
