Why I think Dark Souls 1 is the best game in the Trilogy and with that My top 3 Favorite Bosses of DS1...

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 05:20 PM PDT

Having played all Dark Souls games (the trilogy DSR, DS2 and DS3) I loved all games so much but I still highly prefered DSR (DS1). The world design is just amazing, so is the level design and most importantly (at least for me) the bosses were amazing and least repetitive to fight multiple times/playthroughs (still hate you Bed Of Chaos). So I'm wondering which bosses are your favorite to fight? For me, these are the ones I enjoyed most fighting:

3: Four Kings. This might surprise a lot of you but I really liked this bossfight. I liked the vague drop into nothing were suddenly you see these figures with really cool movesets and your suppose to fight 4 of them. Time your dodges well and get some damage in before you gotta dodge again and don't take too long to kill him before the next king spawns. I wouldn't say it's a hard boss because I got him on my first playhtrough for the first time but it's still one of my favorite bossfights in DSR. (Btw, Four Kings can definitely be hard because when I fought them in NG+ they were a lot more difficult with more hp and high damage combined with the long route to the boss made for a pretty tough fight.)

2: O & S. This fight is just amazing. It's hard but therefore so rewarding. The boss area is perfectly designed for this 1v2 patience battle and both Ornstein and Smough have their own playstyle and strenghts. Overall, 9/10 great bossfight and amazing to fight them after getting through beaty Anor Londo.

1: Knight Artorias. This is undoubtedly my favorite boss in DSR. The environment is perfect, the pace of the boss is challenging but if you time your dodges well you can punish him after most attacks he does. This fight really is my type of combat and that's also why Slave Knight Gael is my favorite boss in DS3. 10/10, would fight over and over again and doesn't get repetitive or boring at all.

kiln of the first flame is underrated

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 11:43 AM PDT

when people talk about the best areas in the game aesthetically i never see a mention of the kiln. that area has one of the best visuals in the game, i mean its an area covered in ash, sky looks pretty (i dont think its sky at all) and the giant building in the distance makes this area look massive. the area itself is also good, the black nights are space out evenly that you can safely 1 v 1 them. and to top it all off, gwyn. the somber theme really elevates the fight for me.

I have become an official speedrunner

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 03:25 PM PDT

After actual weeks of me endlessly practicing everything in dark souls, and suffering with a broken controller and a crappy pc, I was finally able to record my speedrun, which got 23rd on the leaderboards, but to be honest, getting on the leaderboards was surprising because there was moments where my game failed to load chunks for a long time, but then again, I ain't complaining

    Skeletal hollowing mod?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 06:29 PM PDT

Are there any mods out there (ptde) that give you a skeletal rather than zombied appearance when hollowed?

Can't get summoned for Warriors of Sunlight :/

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 05:33 PM PDT

I'm playing DSR on the PS4 and I've done nearly everything in the game. I really want to join the WoS so that I'll have joined every covenant but I get summoned.

I'm level 85 so I get not being summoned pretty much anywhere in the base game but I figured putting my summon sign in the dlc would get me better results but nope. I'm posted up outside the Artorias arena and still no ones summoning me.

    Any help???

Am I going to have to get some data on password summoning? Or does it already exist?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 01:14 AM PDT

Everyone knows if you summon a higher level player with a password in the souls games they are gimped in health and damage. But for some reason I can't find any actual D A T A on it. Give me the numbers. Give me the percentages. Give me the equations. Theres all kinds of in depth data for regular summoning and invading, but not for playing with passwords. I'm playing through the souls franchise with my friend (his first time), and I can get the data. But I'd like to know if anyone already has the information on this that I've just missed? Help a hollow out!

Having trouble joining the sun covenant?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 06:07 PM PDT

I know you need to have faith of 25 in order to join the this covenant or help others defeat bosses but the prompt doesn't pop up to join the covenant what do I do?

Edit: I think I found out why I can't join the sun covenant is probably because it's an old patch I'm playing on so I need to update it thanks to anyone who tried to help me but still comment if I realize this isn't the case if that happens I'll make a second update.

I’ve completed Dark Souls Remastered! Where to next?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 03:35 AM PDT

Hi, Guys. After many trials and tribulations, I finally completed Dark Souls Remastered (first ever play through) last night. I LOVED the game. It was a pure gaming experience. One in which I was enthralled and compelled to progress- even in the face of frustration (I'm looking at you Ornstein and Smough/Capra Demon). The world implored me to dig deep and theorise upon its past present and future. An unbelievable experience.

But where to now? I have both Dark Souls 2 and 3 but I'm unsure which one to dive into next. I've heard so many mixed messages about 2 that I'm unsure whether I should skip it entirely. Eventually I'm planning on playing Bloodborne, but I want (need) more Dark Souls. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

    Solaire of Astora

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 01:08 PM PDT

So I've heard theories that say Solaire could've been the first born of Gywnn, and even more theories that suggest the Nameless King.

Everything of Solaire says he's got no blessings, no powers. Only his own skills. Considering all of Gwynn's other confirmed children have some sort of god-like powers, it doesn't seem like Solaire would fit the mold.

But what if the first born really was the Nameless King and after he was removed from the records and history Solaire took it upon himself (or was influenced) to claim the title of first born to patch the history. All statues have been destroyed of the first born so it'd be ready to argue with no reference.

What do you think? Sorry if this has been proposed before

    How to change up ds1?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:02 AM PDT

I want to play through ds1 again but want it to feel fresh and new as I've played through the game more times than I can count. Any suggestions of what to do?

I've played through ds2 and 3 on sl1 and on broken sword but not on the first game. Should I challenge myself or just go through casually?

    Faith/Quality build

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 05:53 PM PDT

I've played Ds1 remastered on my PS4 three times with DEX and INT builds but I was wonder how plausible it would be for pve and pvp to use a 27 STR 40 DEX and 30+ FTH.

Just finished my first full playthrough of the trilogy + all DLC's; here are my character sheets at the end for those interested

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 02:27 PM PDT

Hope this doesn't violate rule 2 but I thought it was cool to compare tbh; I ended DS1 before reaching level 100 but DS2 on level 235: https://imgur.com/a/mN350OD

    Dark souls 1 or 3?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 09:11 PM PDT

Pretty standard question. I finished Dark souls 2 and loved the hell out of it, now I'm stuck wondering if I should play 3 or 1Remastered. Im planning on playing all of them eventually, but I don't know where to start.

I think I fucked up. Cant enter DLC.

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 03:13 PM PDT

So today I beat Dark Souls for the first time! Im playing the Remastered and was excited to play the DLC afterwards (made a save file just before the final boss).

So after I looked up how to enter the DLC and talked to the Dusk of Oolacile, I was searching for the Crystal Golem but he seems to not be spawning. I think I might have killed him before talking to the Dusk.

Is there no way for me to enter the DLC now?

    How bad is Blighttown?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 03:01 PM PDT

So I just beat the Gaping Dragon, and opened a way up to Blighttown, but before I went I decided to lift my curse, level up, and other stuff. I've heard people talk about Blighttown and how annoying or hard it is. Are there any recommendations on what to do before I go?
