    NG+ Low Soul Memory

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 10:19 AM PDT

I have defeated all bosses, including ancient dragon, on my NG cycle. I just finished farming for consumables I want, and am about to enter my NG+ cycle. Wish me luck, I have never attempted NG+, so this is going to be new to me, and I have avoided looking at spoilers on what's changed as much as possible.

No-Death-Runners, what has been your most frustrating death/a death when you were quite far into the game?

Quality Hex build.. estoc or rapier? Pure PvE

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:44 AM PDT

Hey guys, i wanna run Hex Quality build (str/dex 40/40, int/fth 40/40 maybe more) dark infusion + sacred oath, very rarely casting from distance

    Question is... rapier or estoc?

Now have rapier and even with stone ring i rarely break poise of mobs

Estoc should be maybe better at poise breaking... +I loved estoc in DS 1 :)

    Thx for ur opinion!

    Dark Souls 2 bosses

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 01:23 PM PDT

I've seen a lot of people criticize the bosses of Dark Souls 2, and honestly, I think most of those criticisms are invalid.

The vast majority of Dark Souls 2 bosses have some object on the fight map to help you.

Dragon Rider - You can activate the platforms.
Flexible Sentry - can prevent damage with the piece of wood in the middle.
Skelenton Lords - Avoid fire damage by "shielding yourself" with earth "walls".
    Lost Sinner - Torch
Pursuer - You can kill him with the Ballista.
Freja - can light a torch and scare the spiders.
Mytha - can remove poison from battle.
Rotten - can cut the rotten arm, getting a good advantage.
Covetous Demon - can shoot at the upper vessels.
Ivory King - can get more soldiers to battle.
Aava - can make it visible.
Ruin Setinels - can kill 1 sentry upstairs and leave another half life.
Najka - You can use tree branches to your advantage or complete the npc quest.
Gank Squad DLC - The map is a double-edged sword, you can benefit from the complexity of the map or die from being petrified.
    Smoke Knight - Ashen Idols
Chariot - You can use a gate or kill it with a bow.

    Mechanics against the player

Old Iron King - The map is designed for you to fall into the lava with the attacks of the Old Iron King.
Glass Knight - The boss was created to harm you if you are playing online.
I'm probably forgetting something, but I'm too lazy to remember.

    Resolution
    Bosses are not generic.

Are the servers of Scholar of the First Sin on xbox one down?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:50 PM PDT

I keep on having issues logging in, and I want to play with some friends like it's a co-op game. So are the servers down or not?

Are there many late 20's early 30's dark souls lovers here?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 03:24 PM PDT

I sometimes feel like im way too old to be enjoying these games as much as I do. And I know I'll probably go on loving them well until I start showing signs of hollowing. And beyond.

    DLC Summons

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 03:21 PM PDT

So I decided to get a PS3, so my girlfriend can play Demons Souls, and the owner chipped a copy of Dark Souls 2 (Vanilla) in with it. I have SotFS on PS4 so I don't have to worry but I'm curious. Say you go to the bonfire room after the rotten (I think it leads to Brume Tower) can you get in it, just not open the door? And if so, what keeps your summoner (who has SotFS) from opening the door for you?

    Feel like an idiot

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 03:20 PM PDT

I took a break after starting dark souls 2. Kept getting stuck in the Giants forest. I just found out the doors were openable to get the next campfire in the area. I kept dying before the doors in the side area, with what I'm assuming is a giant fire breathing salamander.

Now I'm stuck at the floaty giant knight, and that's something i can deal with, or at least learn to deal with

Playing magic/mace is definitely a challenge compared to sword and shield on DS1. Starting to get used to it though

    Miracles for mages?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 05:59 AM PDT

So I'm finally doing a ds2 mage build and loving it. I plan on sticking with a pure mage build and slowly levelling strength for a better shield when I can't co-op

I read in a guide there's a staff you get after Heides that you need 20int and 20fth to equip. Does it work just as a catalyst or can you use it to cast miracles as well??

My other question is out of the early miracles I all ready bought Carressing Prayer but is Med Heal worth it?

Any other 'must haves' you would recommend for spells and miracles?

I invaded, got invaded, and dueled among these fights and had fun. I hope you all enjoy the video and I would appreciate any feedback whatsoever so I could improve on the next one! Anyways, enjoy! https://youtu.be/2alKpOjf-Cg

    Question about Estoc...

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 10:38 PM PDT

Is the Estoc any good at all? It is my favorite weapon of all souls games, but I never build around it in DS2. I saw that the Rapier does a little more damage than it, but it's really worth it compared to the estoc? If it is good, how should I build a character around it?
