I just spent an hour shooting 999 arrows at Manus outside the fog gate and then ran in there and got him down to one hit left...and died.

    I hate. Manus. So much.

Not the game for me, but it was for him [TATTOO UPDATE]

I posted on here a while ago about some questions I had regarding some of the game's symbolism. For anyone who remembers, I was wanting to get a tattoo of the bonfire for a friend of mine who's favorite game this was that committed suicide earlier this year. I finally went and got inked this morning, and figured I'd post the results. :)

Something I don't understand about Kalameet

    Posted: 23 Oct 2019 12:47 AM PDT

Kalameet is described as "ferocious dragon" that not even Anor Londo wanted to provoke his ire, "Ancient Dragon" and he will not be put down easily.

Every Dragon the army of Gwyn took down costed them 3 knights of their own.

And yet an arrow and an undead is enough to down Kalameet?

Even the Ancient Dragon recreation in the Dragon Shrine puts up a bigger fight than him.

    What's up with Kalameet?

(probably stupid) question regarding the undead curse and respawning enemies

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 10:56 PM PDT

so my understanding/assumption regarding this is that the curse is at least in part, a meta way of explaining and justifying enemies and the player character respawning. it's not just video game logic anymore, the curse gives it a reason. however some enemies don't respawn (the only examples off the top of my head are from dark souls 3, because i haven't played 1 in such a long time). there are characters like the woman in the rags and witch hat with the butcher knife on the road of sacrifices, or the two guys you have to kill right before the ladder down to farron keep. they don't respawn like other enemies do, so is the implication that they are humans who were not cursed? or is it just video game logic that they're a tough enemy so you're only expected to have to kill them once?

    Basic dude

    Posted: 23 Oct 2019 01:28 AM PDT

As the title indicates, it is a basic doubt about the NG +.

When you start an NG + can you travel from when you start to any bonfire?

And do all the hidden rooms that you have previously opened appear or should you open them again?

From the point of view of the bosses, do they keep having to fight your character over and over?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 02:15 PM PDT

This first occurred to me after I fought Quelaag. It turned out that she is protecting her sister who is deeper in her lair, and I felt kinda sad when I heard some of her sister's lines when she mistakes you for Quelaag. For example "Oh please don't cry sister". Frankly it was very humanizing. Quelaag puts on a tough front, like when she smiles when you first encounter her, but maybe she's really very sad.

So I started wondering what it would be like from her perspective. Like she's just in hiding deep underground, trying to live out her days with her sick sister, and here comes this mystery adventurer. At first she thinks "okay this will be a good distraction from the torment of my every day life", but then you keep coming back and back until you eventually kill her. What would be going through her head? Would she be in constant fear of her inevitable death at your hands? Would she resign herself to her fate?

    About the daughter's of manus

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 06:51 PM PDT

When you defeat manus in oolaciles past in DS1, his soul shatters into pieces and those pieces eventually become nashandra and her 3 sisters right? I've read a lot about this now but I don't think I understand it. So much time passed between manus being defeated by the chosen undead, the actual timeline of DS1, and DS2. What did the soul shards do between DS1 and DS2? Just chill? Is there an explanation like "ye these sisters came to drangleic from far away"? Or did they appear out of nowhere? I need to understand Please help :c

Pros and cons of living in Lordran rather than living in the real life?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 03:27 PM PDT

I'd rather live in Lordran. It won't be fun, but at least I won't be surprised nor disappointed. Confronting a gaping dragon or O&S is piece of cake comparing to IRL administrations and people.

    Pros :

    • No people whining, no people poisoning your air with their stupidity
    • No bill nor rent to pay
    • No issue with any form of administration
    • Cool armors
    • Cool weapons
    • You deal with your shit
    • Warrior of the sun convenant ☼ \o/
    • Cosy campfires

    Cons :

    • Big worms sucking your brain
    • Lava
    • Everything and everyone is hostile (but isn't real life hostile too?)

Looking for a Dark Souls Friend

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:38 PM PDT

    PS4 or PC

I started with Bloodborne a few years back and then transitioned to Dark Souls 3 (my most played game of all time). I have had a lot of people tell me that I need to experience the original Dark Souls as it was one of the best games of the series. However, I do not have any friends that are willing to play it with me and I enjoy the company. Would any of you be so kind? I typically play in the afternoons after work until bedtime which is around 10:00p MST. PM me if interested.

What Places in Dark Souls Creepy You Out or Give You Bad Vibes?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 07:07 AM PDT

In honor of Halloween coming up, I was curious what areas in the Souls series creep you out? I got thinking about this last night as I realized that even at a high SL, New Londo creeps me out. I had forgotten to grab the firekeeper soul during my run through there, so I went back to grab it, and even being overpowered for most of the enemies there, I didn't want to stay long.

In Dark Souls 3 I get this vibe in Untended Graves, and the Shaded Woods was that way for me a bit in DS2, but not to the same extent as New Londo or Untended Graves. None of these areas are unfairly difficult, but something about the vibe of each makes me want to get through them as fast as possible.

Do you have any areas in DS1, 2, or 3 that you run through because you just don't like the vibe?

Should I either get Dark Souls 2 or 3?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 04:22 PM PDT

I'm just finishing up my Dark Souls NG+6 run and I am planning on getting the other two souls games. So I have a question, should I get Dark Souls 2 or 3? Which one should I get first? I know that Dark Souls 2 isn't well known for being that good so I am asking for advice.

    I finished the game!

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 10:40 AM PDT

First of all, sorry for my bad english it's not my first language. So I finished the game about a week ago on my first playtrough. It was awesome, but also sad, because I knew I just finished one of the best if not the best games I ever played. It was an amazing journey. I surely want to complete the series, but first of all I must recover from the first game. Thank you for reading this. (Also any tips how to inprove my english?)

    Guidance please.

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 11:48 AM PDT

The guide I'm following seems a bit vague now, and I'm not sure where to go.

I've beaten the Witch Qweelag (spelling?) and rung the 2nd bell. I also beat the, ahem, Ceaseless Discharge and decided to avoid going down further as there were too many Capra Demons.

So i headed back through Blighttown swamp, up the elevator towards the Valley of the Drakes. I'm currently beside the rope bridge and can see what i think is a dragon at the other side.

Is this correct? The guide said to head back to Darkroot Garden and go through the door using an Astorias(?) key, from Andre the Blacksmith. But I'm not sure. Any help or guidance would be amazing thank you.

Dark Souls: Remastered or Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 11:36 AM PDT

I've played through Dark Souls III and I was planning to buy another game from the franchise but I'm wondering if I should buy Dark Souls: Remastered for 20 euros or Dark Souls II for 7 euros. I do know most of the bosses in DS1, not the boss fight itself just the names and how they look.
