Royal Rat Vanguard on NG+ are no joke

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 11:38 AM PDT

I know on NG this fight is super easy, but on NG+ they turn it up. First, the damage that each rat does is massively scaled up, meaning that you can get one shot if they all attack you at once (as I found out). Second, you have to kill at least twice as many rats to get the 'boss' to spawn this time, meaning this fight takes quite a bit longer. Lastly, the boss has more health (and kills you in two hits!) so you have to focus on it a lot while the smaller rats gang up on you. This fight can seriously mess you up on NG+.

I've been playing the whole game as a member of the Company of Champions...

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 06:48 AM PDT

Almost from the second I got to Majula I joined the Company of Champions and I've never really stayed in any other covenant. What a revelation it was to find out I've been making this game harder for myself without knowing....

Tip for DS2 beginners: don't join the Company of Champions immediately lol

    Is DS2 massive?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 06:33 AM PDT

I bought SOTFS in the steam sale and am playing it blind. I already have 10 hours in the game and a full page of bonfires unlocked, and yet it still feels like I've just begun, as I haven't killed any of the main bosses needed to venture into the castle, to which I heard that there is even more passed the castle including the Ivory king. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited and happy the game has so much to offer, but I was just wondering if it really is that much higher than something like DS1 or DS3.

There seems to be no subreddit for dedicated pvp in the souls games, so I created one. Visit my sub if you are a pvp enjoyer. It is a sanctuary for bad red men.

All 3 DLC are finished and I had a blast in Brume Tower, I'm now off to sleep and hopefully finish the game later today

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 07:11 PM PDT

Am I almost finished the base game?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 11:06 AM PDT

    Hey friends,

I was on here about a week ago when I only had 2 lord souls and was told I was about 25% finished. Since then I've collected them all, found king Vendrict, made my way to the ancient dragon, and accessed the giant memories for their souls.

I believe I have all the keys for the DLC too. Not including that content, how much more content do I have to look forward to before the final boss?

    Advice for making builds?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 10:33 AM PDT

    Hiya!

So cards on the table I vaaaaguely remember asking something like this before but I can't remember for sure and I've got a hankering to play again

Basically, I was wondering what sort of stats in general you guys go for when making builds? Like, for example, if you were making a DEX build, would you stop at 40 DEX, or go all the way to 50? Where do you like to have ADP? If you're a caster, how much ATT do you go for, considering it effects cast speed as well?

I think the levelling system of DaS2 is probably the most interesting of all the games because of how many different things each stat has an effect on, so any insight you can all give to me regarding it would be really appreciated

EDIT: To better clarify what I'm asking I've removed "breakpoints". This is more about what you guys personally go for, whether it's actually a breakpoint/hardcap/softcap or whether it's more often something in between

    Agdayne question

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 12:12 PM PDT

So in the undead crypt I read if you have any torchlite near him he'll become hostile. My question is if you light the Statue of the lady to light up the area after that, does it make him hostile? I know it spawns spirits when you light it but having the light would be nice but I also want to stay on agdayne's good side. Thanks in advance!

This is my first souls game and it is great!

I'm surprised this game get so much criticism, it's the best game I've played in a long time,

What, besides the weird hitboxes, makes this game such a black sheep? Just killed the Pursuer as my 4th boss fight and I'm having a blast.

Velstadt, the reason I quit dark souls 2, 2 years ago

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 11:13 AM PDT

Back when I first played dark souls 2, I got to this guy and because the area he was in I despise to this very day I stopped back then and now once again im taking a break from this game due to him. I don't like dark area even with max brightness on console its still dark. Darkness on pc can go away easily but on console your stuck in darkness. I never will understand having a brightness meter on console if it doesnt brighten up your game.
