Anyone else notice that the "Greatsword" is an Ultra Greatsword? Posted: 14 Mar 2021 09:53 AM PDT I just noticed it now and for some reason it made me crack up. The greatsword weapon type exists yet the weapon that is simply called "Greatsword" is not technically a greatsword, but an ultra greatsword. [link] [comments] |
Is it bad if I leave Arty's and Sif's souls at his grave? Posted: 14 Mar 2021 07:51 PM PDT Title. Everytime I finish fighting Sif, I would go to Artorias' grave and drop his soul and Sif's next to each other in front of his tomb stone. I know I could use these to make amazing weapons but, I don't know if I plan to really get them. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Mar 2021 11:34 PM PDT I talked mad shit on the dark wood grain ring when I played this game for the first few times but once I played soul level one I realized I was a fool and flipping around and shit is just fun [link] [comments] |
Is darksouls for ps3 worth getting? Posted: 14 Mar 2021 11:10 PM PDT Hi, I've never played a souls game before, and a games store near my house is selling a used copy for $7. I understand that it released a while back, and that it's online functionality may not be in use anymore, however, this isn't an issue as I generally prefer a single player experience. I'm also aware of relative framerate issues, particularly the Blight town location, and that the pc release generally outdoes console in this regard. If there is simply a video explaining what I should know, please post it, anything fron people who are into this game helps. [link] [comments] |
I want to do a Hornet (from HK) build in DS, any ideas? Posted: 15 Mar 2021 01:36 AM PDT Setup for now: Crimson Robe: Upperbody/lowerbody Easter gloves: gauntlets Not sure about the helm, i was thinking about the Silver Knight helm, Crystal helm, Wise helm Sword: Silver Knight sword, Astora sword (not sure) Rings: Hornet Ring [of course ;-)], Ring of the sun Princess Miracles: Great Heal Excerpt, Great Heal, Wrath of the Gods, Emit Force, Tranquil walk of Peace, Great Lightning Spear, Darkmoon Blade (if i ever use a normal weapon) Stats: Vit: 25/30 Att: 23/28 End: 30 Str: 27 Dex 35/40 Faith: 30 I should also ask Gough for some "GIT GUD" and "SHAW" stones. This build exists for roleplay purposes while maintaining an average level of strenght. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Mar 2021 05:26 AM PDT I'm going through it as a STR/END build with a whisper of pyromancy (I like to think of myself as a muscular swamp witch) and I am thoroughly enjoying Blighttown. There is an unbelievable amount of items (Iaito? Eagle Shield? Tattered Robes? Yes please); the enemies aren't particularly hard (they are so unbelievably slow and dumb — and the blow dart snipers don't even respawn!); and the poison is a really interesting challenge. Not only that — you can access the great hollow via blighttown, which I'm now only just exploiting for its goodies!! At the risk of sounding super arrogant, I've gotta ask — why is it generally agreed upon that everyone hates Blighttown? Edit: After seeing everyone's comments, it's pretty clear that Blighttown is much improved since the original release, both in terms of performance and mechanics. Sure, it's a weird part of the game, but I'm so lucky I came to it my first time and found it enjoyably weird, and not excruciatingly so. Thanks everyone for your comments! [link] [comments] |

Dark Souls Remastered - PlayStation 4 is 50% off Posted: 14 Mar 2021 07:31 AM PDT |
My third attempt and I’m the farthest I’ve ever been. I love/hate Sen’s Fortress so much Posted: 14 Mar 2021 04:42 PM PDT The first attempt I struggled for weeks just to get to Blighttown Swamp and couldn't beat Quelaag. I felt stuck down there and couldn't get out, so I decided to start over and get better equipment before going down there. My second run I didn't struggle as much and beat Quelaag after (I think) 3 tries. Hated the first 2 rooms of Sen's fortress, decided to start over again and really get a better build. Steamrolled through everything up to Quelaag (except Capra Demon, he took forever) and now I'm making slow progress through Sen's Fortress for real. Wish me luck. [link] [comments] |
Just 100% completed Dark Souls. Dark Souls III is next. Posted: 14 Mar 2021 05:36 AM PDT That's it. It's the title. I finished Knight's Honour just now and I'm going to go and finish Master of Miracles and Master of Rings in DS3 for the 100% in that too. Good luck, skeletons. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Mar 2021 06:11 PM PDT My first introduction to the souls series was with ds3. I love that game to death. I have only been playing ds3 the last 4 years for the pvp and boss fights. My only gripe was how I was introduced to the series. My friend had played before and he simply sped run me through the game, getting me the best weapons early in and just spoiling all illusionary walls/bossfights for me. Thats why when I decided to play dsR this past weekend I promised myself that I wouldn't use any tips whatsoever. A blind run. And holy fuck, did I get my ass whooped. I managed to ring the first bell fairly easily, and I was feeling good about my first run. Had my Halberd at +5 and I was under 25% equip load for the fast rolls. I knew that I had to "go far below" to find the other bell....so I decided to explore the catacombs. At sl26. With no lights source... Wow. I was having a hard time. The skeletons were annoying, but once I encountered the first pinwheel skeletons I was stunned, for I could not get past those guys. I must have died 50 times trying to get past them. Eventually, through sheer luck I managed to run past them and straight into the pinwheel boss. Felt pretty good since I fucked him up on the first try. And then I delved deeper into the darkness...and discovered the tomb of giants. No light. No armour. Sl 26. No idea what the fuck was going on or what I was doing. And then PATCHES. Fighting patches in the dark was impossible. Luckily I climbed down a ladder in the dark and he fell of the cliff trying to attack me. Luckily I found a lantern so I was able to continue my journey to hell. Only to encounter a door sealed by gwyns power. Oh well, I decided to head back to firelink. That journey back must have taken me hours. I think I spent about 4-6 hours total after defeating the gargoyles, and I had made zero progress to the second bell. Once I reached firelink I decided to explore, to see of I missed anything, and through sheer luck (again) and some prior experience playing ds3, I managed to find the nest and travel back to the undead asylum. Except I could not kill that damn stray demon. So I left, and spent many hours exploring darkroot garden, darkroot basin, killing the hydra, havel, and finally I figured out that there is a simple wooden door near the dragon Bridge. Now I have finally made real progress towards the second bell. I've heard horror stories about blighttown, but I didn't find it too bad. Managed to clear it in about an hour. I think I found most of the items too. Found the shortcut from blighttown to firelink and now I have just ascended my claymore to +6, 15 estus, and I am ready to take on Quelenas domain... I have to say, the level design in ds is incredible. Ds3 dropped on the ball on that part. Finding shortcuts to firelink after HOURS of exploration is such a rewarding experience. The lore is amazing, really makes me appreciate the NPCs on ds3 much more. I am in love with this game already Thank you [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Mar 2021 09:29 PM PDT WHY THE HELL CANT I BEAT THIS FUCKING DUDE. I haven't even struggled with the game THAT much besides O&S but at least it felt like i was getting somewhere every time i fought them. How do i kill this dude. I tried to find a summoning but every fucking time some overpowered douche comes into my world and backstabs me. My Uchigantana is +10 which i feel like should be enough. The best I have done is gotten him down to like half health. I know to let him come to me as to not trigger his big skelly homies but he still beats the shit out of me everytime. I read that he's susceptible to fire so i used my fire iatio once and that did less damage than my Uchi??? Haven't been this close to going hollow (i won't) but Jesus Christ what the hell do i do? Posted: 14 Mar 2021 08:09 PM PDT Just beat the dynamic duo in Anor Londo! Luckily got them on my first try... I thought I was dead from the last buttsmash from Ornstein but managed to get in the final blow with 3 HP left LOL. Most epic souls battle I've experienced in a while! [link] [comments] |
Is actually harder than all regular bosses Artorias? Posted: 14 Mar 2021 07:26 AM PDT I have been playing dark souls remastered. It has been a lot of fun playing having already beat the game on ps3 I knew how to build my character. However, Artorias is still killing me over and over. Is it me or is he way tougher than the rest of the games bosses? [link] [comments] |

What made Dark Souls so influential Posted: 14 Mar 2021 06:43 PM PDT It was a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, but when people look back, it seems like Dark Souls receives the most credit for popularizing Souls games. What made it so much more influential than it's prequel? [link] [comments] |
