Posted: 18 Feb 2021 02:55 PM PST ...in any if the games. Or any game for that matter. I still struggle sometimes with Vordt and Pinwheel has killed me plenty. And i have never mastered PvP. I get lost in Catacombs of Carthus all the time and have only cleared DS2 once. Only beaten Gael once and that was with help. I've barely done anything solo in any of the games. Most of my time I spend trying to find cool looking gear. End of the day though? I love these games, and i love this community. [link] [comments] |
Made a little Moonlight Butterfly design! Posted: 18 Feb 2021 06:02 PM PST My absolute favourite boss in the game is Moonlight Butterfly ,so I decided to try and make a little design of it in my style! It's my first time trying something like this, but I hope you like it as much as I do! :D [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2021 06:25 AM PST Almost exactly a year ago, I made a post on here talking about how I had finished my first playthrough of Dark Souls after years of fearing this series. As of yesterday, if nabbed the platinum trophy in Dark Souls: Remastered and now have acquired all platinum trophies or 100% achievements in all the games. It's been a fun journey. Although that's not to say it wasn't also tedious. I am looking at you DS3 covenant items... Anyways, there's not much else to say. I love this series and glad I took the time to dive into over the last year. I look forward to playing through them more. A big thanks to everyone on this and the other Souls community subs. These places have been an endless wealth of knowledge and support. \`[T] / [link] [comments] |
My friend and I found a way to clip through the big cathedral doors of Anor Londo. Posted: 18 Feb 2021 09:27 PM PST This doesn't break rule 8, does it? Couldn't find any mention of this glitch online, or any similar glitch for that matter. Since I couldn't find any information about the glitch, my friend and I recorded the glitch in action and I threw together a quick tutorial of sorts. I think the gates nearby can also be clipped through, but we weren't able to test it out yet. [link] [comments] |
I think I just understood something about respawning. Posted: 19 Feb 2021 02:18 AM PST I just thought about this yesterday. I don't know if it is clearly explained in the game or already well known. But now that i've had this thought it seems obvious to me. When you die, you don't magically get teleported or rebuilt at the fire. Your character actually hollowed. That's why you lose your humanity for example. You become a hollow, lose your souls to the the dark sign and zombie your way in Lordran until you get next to a fire and rebuild enought strenght to carry on. Maybe the fire itself is attracting you, guiding you in your mission. During the "you died" screen, you actually mindlessly walk around Lordran until you gain enought lucidity to carry on. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe it's something obvious but I like this idea. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2021 11:09 PM PST Thanks to everyone on the sub for your kind words of encouragement, advice, and humanity. These are some of the kindest souls I've found on a subreddit through the vast darkness that is the internet. I spent time backtracking, helping my friends, my friends helping me, collecting, battling, dying, empowering, overcoming, and dying again, and I don't regret a single moment of it. I started this game when I was in a dark spot, at the bottom of The Abyss. But this game has taught me, that with enough stubbornness, and determination, I too, can reach for the sun! Whether that be the hours I spent on Ornstein and Smough, or the bravery I needed to explore the Tomb Of Giants. All I can say, is thank you all. [link] [comments] |
Plin Plin Plon helps me do work Posted: 18 Feb 2021 09:12 PM PST When you need to calm down or listen to some vibes I choose papa Gwyn I don't know about you all, but I love to listen to the dark souls 1,2,3 themes & soundtracks. It creates a sence of nostalgia and almost comfort.. despite how hard the games were at first lol. Im playing DS3 rn and just defeated the Crystal Sage. I hope you all stay warm & enjoy some game time. Favorite plin plin plon: [link] [comments] |
Hey I'm a first time player and I'm traped in the toomb of giants Posted: 18 Feb 2021 10:50 PM PST Same as title, I think I'm way under leveled. I'm level 32, I'm at the bonfire down all the coffin slides before the first big dog skeleton. Is there a way that I can escape the area or anything?? [link] [comments] |
Can you summon other players to help you outside of just boss fights? Posted: 18 Feb 2021 08:04 PM PST I'm working on a video essay about difficulty modulation in games, and I'm using Dark Souls as an example for part of it. However, I've never used summoning, so I don't really understand it very well. Allowing players to summon helpers in boss fights is a great way to give them an option to make fights easier, but I'm wondering whether it's exclusive to just bosses. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Feb 2021 12:09 AM PST Hey all, so after taking a break and playing through DS2:SotFS in under a week (Beat Aldia maybe 2 hours ago), I decided to reboot my DSR save and attempt Crystal Caves again. I FINALLY saw that From Software was trolling w an invisible path that goes nowhere, and I found the right path. So I finally reach Seath, awesome. My 2h sword is dealing 130 damage to him. Long, but easy enough fight. Then I get cursed. Yeah, im not in the mood for this bullshit. I'm sorry, but this is just a cavalcade of cheap crap, not fun & interesting difficulty like majority of DS1 I've played, or DS2. So, is there any other area I can go explore by teleporting out? I have seen discussion of Bed of Chaos and am already leaning towards "done w Dark Souls 1", first... 70%? Was amazing, then they seemingly just went w shitty platforming and ledge deaths for difficulty at tail end. Im not even mad, just bored and kinda bummed because I WANT to play Dark Souls, but not this. I also have Sekiro, and was entertaining starting that. (Well, restarting. I got grappling hook like 3 months ago and dropped it- was busy.) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2021 03:54 PM PST I just beat Gwyn!!! He wasñt as hard as I thought he would be if u can parry. But idk how I feel about the game I enjoyed it alot but I don't feel like I fully experienced the game as I kinda blew through it and I played it on the switch so some things weren't that up to date lol and I feel like the game kinda fell of after Ornstein and smough as the rest of the bosses were pretty easy and nito was just annoying. I'm gonna go play the next dark souls and I'll replay dark souls remastered wen I get it on the Xbox and try and take my time. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 18 Feb 2021 09:47 PM PST Anyone else try to kill him before he starts limping?? I feel so bad fighting him, he's a friend! It's worse when you do the DLC first & then fight Sif lol, FromSoft really smashed my soul to bits with this one [link] [comments] |

Curious to know, which Soulsborne/Sekiro boss is the hardest across all games for you? Posted: 18 Feb 2021 06:53 PM PST I'm really interested to know everyone's opinions on their hardest boss (or bosses if you'd like). [link] [comments] |

I’m going hollow.. words of wisdom? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 12:15 AM PST Last time I booted this game up I beat O&S and lost all interest in the game's story after words. The combat was fun for a while but I leveled myself into a whole I don't like. I started a new character to get the starter experience again. I'm looking for a stamina quick hard hitter build with decent health & no shield usage. What should I level up right away? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Feb 2021 03:38 AM PST Warning: very long post. Also sorry for my english. Also sorry if I get triggered when people say something I disagree with and I feel like I must explsin it to them even if they don't give a fuck about what I think lol You start as a no one, accursed, for eternity, "awaiting the end of the world". Then, an opportunity for redemption appears out of nowhere:a stranger frees you, angld gives you a purpose again. You don't know the whys and the hows, but you know that your task is special. Because it was a ray of sunlight in tye total darkness you were in. Also, it's a pilgrimage - practice that has a lot of mystical meanings in real life, where going on a pilgrimage meant taking a big task without knowing what you'll find - you put yourself in the hands of God. Dark Sols is very medieval in this sense. This is the first breaking point. Long story short, you have a purpose now. You know hope (the higher bell, that almost touches heaven) and pain, madness, sin (the other bell is a collection of sins: murder in the lower burg, gluttony in blighttown, hubrys for the witches). The chosen undead walks through a tutorial of the human soul. In the end, the chosen has mastered it, knows it well, understands its nature. But, they're not satisfied yet - because this isn't enough to undertand their purpose, to avoid going hollow, to live instead than existing. Also becsuse knowledge of the earthly world hardly explains anything - more like, it creates more lquestions. Luckily, this call for more is answered: the bells are rung, the mundane world is finished, and the ultramundane manifests itself. This is the second breaking point. Now, of course we've seen magic, dragons, probably ghosts etc. But by ultramundane I mean, a purpose thst goes beyond the smallness of men. A call from something bigger, eternal - something primordial. Frampt is herald of what calls you. Gods, angels and demons. Now thst you've mastered humanity, you are tasked with confronting the gods, the demons, the dead. You do a final test - Sen's, the iron golem - and you go in actual heaven. There is a reason why you don't just walk in Anor Londo. Because your destiny is being guided by a divine hand - you're finding an higher purpose. Finally! You're done then! You fight o&s. Oh god oh fuck what can possibly wait there... Am I going to become king in this place? Wonderful... Or is it? The chosen meets Amazing Chest. This, alongside Frampt's instructions when you go to him with the lordvessel, is the final revelation of your divine task. Everything is now clear. You're done. If God himself wants you to do a thing... Well what better purpose than that? Except not, because you start to discover the corruption of these "gods". There are a lot of clues, but not all of them are easy to find. Just to name a few: Amazing Chest is illusion, the sins of Izalith, the "angels" are demons, priscilla is segregated... And of course the biggest sins of them all: those of the Four Kings and Gwyn. The ending is the third breaking point. You've now discovered most of what there is to discover in this world. You know the grey nature of gods and men. What will you do? Will you keep this world going, with all of its pain, but also all of its faith? That would be coherent with what moved you in the beginning. Just like you always seeked purpose, even in darkness, even in desperation, so could do the world. You could keep the flame lit in hope of... Something, tomorrow. Maybe faith that your sacrifice will make, at least for some time, for a better world. Or... You could sieze power. This would be coherent with what you've learned in the more hidden parts of the story. Gods are made by power in this world. There is no "destiny", no higher will, just... Lies and power. And maybe that was what moved you all along... Thrist for power... You, a devourer of souls, that will finally be the Lord of a new world, a world of madness, anarchy, the Age of Dark! Will you seek an... (Hollow, maybe, it depends on your optimism) redemption, or seize your power becoming exactly what Gwyn was, a tyrant that defeated the gods of the old era and replaced the world with his kingdom, his rules? This is my interpretation. I'm graduating in literature, of course this doesn't mean shit but I say it because while I write this I have like a thousand comparisons in mind, that I think how the things I mention are likely to mean (or they end up meaning anyways, this often happens in creative writing) what I think they mean (eg the use of pilgrimage in literature/movies etc). One tip I wish I knew before starting Dark Souls Posted: 18 Feb 2021 04:12 PM PST Every boss is unique and therefore you can try multiple actions, like parrying and blocking to see what works, don't be afraid to experiment I wish I knew that, I was stuck on Bell Gargoyles for literally a month and I thought that the only thing I could do was rolling, because every time I tried to block Asylum Demon and Taurus it didn't end well Then I saw someone mentioning tanking the fight with block and I rekt them on my 2nd try [link] [comments] |
