    Im sorry...

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 09:49 AM PST

Im sorry for using lifegems and estus during a pvp fight, Minxie the Witch. With a name like that, I thought that you were an NPC invader, but I looked it up and theres no NPC with that name.

As an arachnophobe the run to Freja really wasn't comfy

So I had this happen today I was summoned right as I triggered the pursuer fight next to the bonfire and when I got back I found him hovering in place like a god.

Is the person who made the Frigid Outskirts ok?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 12:58 PM PST

Just replayed through the whole game and the main thought going through my head during that area was "Is the person who made this ok? No fine person would make something like this. Did something happen in their life for them to be able to create this?"

Recommend me an interesting but unpopular weapon for RtD

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:35 AM PST

As title says. In my DS2 "career" I mained weapons such as Claymore, Estoc, Smelter Sword, Longsword, Murakumo, Rapier and Mace.

This time I'm willing to focus on using something less popular. In other words, a weapon that is considered less useful(but not useless) and used only in cosplay/challenge builds.

    What do you recommend?

A thank you to the lovely invaders

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 01:13 PM PST

I feel like I needed to post this somewhere to pay honour to these wonderful peoples. During my first ever Dark Souls 2 playthrough so far I've had...my fair share of invaders. Every time I see an invasion happening I cringe, try to find a corner to hide in, and cry into my very noob cornflakes. Until...fluffers appeared!

Imagine it..."Iron Keep, first run through. I've just beaten Smelty Mcsmelterboy and am feeling on top of the world, until I keep stupidly falling off the ledges or being swarmed in the next section with all the platforms (gravity hurts). Until...a mysterious symbol appears on the floor, I click...and ONION HUSBAND APPEARS! Only...it's not him, instead it's the almighty Fluffers. I attack him, scared of the invader...only, he waves and then bows before popping tiny shiny lights on the floor...leading me to a bonfire I desperately needed to find...AND NOT KILLING ME!"

Next, barely minutes after Fluffers disappears and my beginner self finds the Iron King boss another invader appears...I'm now curious, are they good or bad? Selebus the Playful ends up partying with me and giving me many many effigies and other goodies before heading off...again, without killing me!

Since that wondrous occasion Fluffers has made multiple appearances, one time gifting me a +10 greatsword before booting me off the edge of a bridge (I'll take it, as the greatsword is awesome) and showing me hidden chests I'd never have found on my own. I've also met a few other invaders, both helpful and not so much...but now I don't find the murder-y invaders so much, there is a balance now.

So all in all, to the helpful and playful invaders out there, you rock! A game that, whilst I am enjoying the challenge of, has frustrated me to no end has been made immensely more fun and intriguing....will my next invader be helpful or will they just murder my face?

    Thank you <3

So the Alonne Greatbow is the Oni Slayers Greatbow in Dark Souls 3, right?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 01:48 PM PST

I've seen lore discussion on the Oni referenced in the item description for the bow and it's arrows, and comparing the models in games it's kind of obvious.

The Oni is the Old Iron King, it's literally just that. It's a large horned demon, and the bow is found in the Iron Keep. It's referenced as coming from an eastern land, where the alonne knights equipment is from. It would follow that the legend would gradually turn to that the bow was used against him. Or maybe canonically it was, a weapon used by Bearer of the Curse.

I want to look through all of the Dark Souls 3 items descriptions that reference dark souls 2 and learn all of the incredibly obvious references people miss because they dont play 2.

Rarely receive Sunlight medals while co-oping bosses as Sunbro

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 01:22 PM PST

    Pretty much this issue.
We've been playing with my best friend and ever since we've joined Sunbros we are not always receiving sunlight medals. So far we have bitten Undead Chariot, Covetous Demon, Baneful Queen, Smelter Demon and Old Iron King, two times each since we play together. But she received only 7 Sunlight Medals and I have received 5.
Maybe we are doing something the wrong way? If this helps, sometimes I switch to Blue Sentinels or Way of Blue while exploring areas on my own, but for bosses we always sunbro.

    Many thanks!

Return to Drangleic, revive the iron keep bridge pvp?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 02:51 AM PST

The upcoming return to drangleic event is going to be my first time participating, and I was wondering if iron keep bridge PvP is lively during the event, and if not we should totally revive it, some of the best memories I have of dark souls 2 back when it released are putting my sign down and having a good duel, someone falling through that small hole and having to do the lap (and probably falling into the lava) or being summoned into a fight club, it was a lot of fun, I think a lot of us would wanna relive those days!

Not sure why DS2 gets a bad reputation when compared to the other 2? I actually enjoy it.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:56 AM PST

Every once in awhile I get the urge to check out DS2 again. I have the Scholar of First Sin edition. Everyone on DS3 sub likes to criticize it. I enjoy it just as much as DS3.

I prefer Majula to Firelink shrine. As well I think DS2 had some interesting levels and tougher enemies.

Scenery in this game is absolutely underrated. Tower of flame area gives me a lot of Anor Londo vibes.
