| This game does wonders for my anxiety Posted: 20 Jan 2021 11:23 AM PST I'm going through a tough time right now what with the loss of an old friend, a breakup, and losing my house causing me to move back in with my dad. Getting to explore Lordran, slaying beasts and resting at bonfires has an oddly calming effect on me and my mental health. That's my favorite thing about the bonfires too - I always get a second chance. And when I FINALLY slay that seemingly impossible boss I feel so much accomplishment. I really hated this game when I first started playing but the more I conquered, the more I loved it. I see a lot of posts on this sub equating Dark Souls to the struggles of real life, and I've never felt it more than I am right now. Just wanna say I really love this game and this community and so many of you guys are so supportive as well as freaking hilarious. I know it sounds really lame, but it's how I feel. I had a player invade my world, drop some Homeward Bones and leave. So thank you guys for being so awesome Second I wanna say with how my life has been going, depression, not many friends, stress, a recent break up with the love of my life - this game has been the ultimate stress reliever which is kinda ironic. I'm not even done yet but I've had such a amazing experience. I only got into it because of You-tuber Nakeyjakey and if I could thank him personally I would. I never thought I'd love this game but oh boy has it had a impact. It helps to be able to immerse my myself into such a deep and detailed world where I can focus on something. I'm so excited to play the rest of the SoulsBorne series and when I eventually get a PS5 play Demons Souls as well. So seriously thank you so much Dark Souls the impact you have had on me is unlike anything I've experienced in a game before. Has anyone else had any similar stories with this game? | Posted: 20 Jan 2021 05:08 PM PST So i finished the whole series a bunch of times and im farely advanced in the lore but i never had a real clue about the origin of the slimes in the depths area, you know ; the Sewers.As item description states the 2 butchers that you meet shortly after the entrance are cannibals which ate human beings. As we know hollows cant die no matter what once the curse sets in when the fire threatens to burn out. So what happened to the people that got ate by the cannibals while being already afflicted by the curse? The slimes could probably be the answer to that. Looking kinda digested and meaty, when attacking seemingly pushing out bones or something similar. I think they are the eaten people, excreted by the cannibal butchers and still living on in the sewers. What do you guys think about that? Understandable? Or not? | Posted: 20 Jan 2021 08:13 PM PST I fucking mistakenly hit the R2 button and I fell down frampt's hole after getting back from anor londo. then I couldnt get back up so I placed the lordvessel and thn find out now frampts gone for the whole fucking playthrough because I mistakenly hit a button now I can't use my gold or siver coins at all. just ridiculous after all this effort I cant go back to a save or anything because mistakenly hitting a button that made me move forward and fall down a hole, then did what I was supposed to do but still get penalized. like I just cant believe all that just happened. | Finally completed dark souls remastered Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:30 AM PST After my first playtrough I decided I wanted to complete the game. Stupid me consumed all the lord souls on my first playtrough so I had to get to New game +++. But! I've done it! 100% complete. Took me 2 characters. One with 50 hours on it and one mage with 6 hours. All I have to say now is: fuck dukes fucking archives and the four kings. [link] [comments] |

However in my world, Sieglinde has bastard sword and pierce shield. They did some quitouts and clipped through the quelaag elevator and plunged firesage. I thought that was super cool but since I didn't want to glitch that way, something crossed my mind. What if I backtrack from the daughters of chaos shortcut all the way to the elevator. I knew I would have a hard time, but I tried it anyway. I got flash sweat, armor with very high fire res and tried going to centipede demon. Since there's a bonfire right before and after that fight I knew if I beat him, I could do the unthinkable and reverse activate the elevator. Spent all my humanity and had to go get more for kindling, since lava still does stupid damage even with flash sweat. You can't enter the centipede demon arena. I'm broken. [link] [comments] |

I had a lightning longbow +3, Paladin armor (except for the helmet) +1, Mask of the Father, lightning uchigatana +4, havels ring, flameplate ring and dragon crest shield. First I shot off its tail, then shot it in the head as many times as I was confident as I could without him healing. Then I ran up the stairs, along the rail into the corner. I waited for him to finish his breath attack then stepped up to the other post and let the tip of my weapon stretch out of cover. I had to wait a few seconds for him to land on the bridge, then charged and hit it 2 or 3 times until it was dead. [link] [comments] |
| Wanting to use spells for the first time in new game+ (level 115) Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:46 AM PST I made it through my first playthrough only using melee. I'm level 115 and all my points have been dumped into endurance, strength and vitality. I want to see how many playthroughs I can get with this character but I'd like to pickup spells to freshen things up a bit and perhaps help with the increase in challenge. Is it too late for me to start dumping points into spell-related stats? I don't know how many more levels I can expect to gain from this point on. I don't really play online. [link] [comments] |

Was dreading another O&S situation where it would take me 20 attempts, but everything went much better than I anticipated. It definitely got uncomfortably close a few times, though. Just wanted to share my excitement! Feel free to share stories about your own triumphant victories if you like. Once I kill him I'm waiting for the achievement to pop up and it never did! I'm not to bothered by it cuz I can do it in ng+2 along with other things to finish my prayer of a maiden achievement. | Posted: 20 Jan 2021 07:30 PM PST I've been using a raw +5 claymore for the second half of the game which has been working great for me up until the last bosses before gwyn. Kalameet and manus are annihilating me and my weapon isn't doing nearly as much damage as it has to other bosses. This is my first play through of Dark Souls so I don't really know how all the weapons are yet. Does anyone know what weapon is most effective against these two? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 20 Jan 2021 02:02 AM PST (First Playthrough) First off I have a heart condition that can be set off rarely from high levels of adrenaline (Sh**ting myself). Anyway I was coming back from Blight town from ringing the 2nd bell, rested up at firelink because I had already killed Lautrec, decided to have a nice stroll around to rest for a minute, walk up to the archway and see Frampt staring me down in what i assumed was his attack range so naturally it scared the hell out of me and through that scare my heart stated beating extremely fast and hard which ultimately set off a Tachycardia (Dangerous condition where the heart is beating way too fast, gets up to 310bpm for me) i had to take a trip to the hospital and was put on monitoring overnight and I was released just yesterday, I don't hold it against Frampt but truly one of the worst jump scares I've ever experienced, F*ck you Frampt [link] [comments] |
