It's refreshing to play the game the "correct" way.

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 02:45 PM PST

I sunk over 1000 hours into the game by now and usually grab the masterkeys and speedrun to where I need to.

But taking the original path, cosplaying as the crestfallen warrior with a standard longsword and heater shield is just as fun. I even forgot how nice undead burg looks.

    Are 'souls-like' games worth it?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 06:33 AM PST

I've played the hell out of sekiro, ds1, ds2, ds3 and love them all to bits. I wish I could play bloodborne, or the demon's souls remake but I don't own a ps4/ps5. I'm sure you guys know the feeling after ending these games (multiple times). Will playing so called souls-like games be worth it? Are there any other games that can provide the same level of immersion in terms of story-telling and gameplay?

    Thoughts on Priscilla?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:03 AM PST

My first playthrough, kinda want the boss fight as a completionist but also don't really wanna kill fluffy tail waifu when she gives me no reason to attack her.

Is she secretly super evil in the lore or anything? Any justification for killing her other than I just want souls? I went in her room expecting a boss fight but then she's just like "hey man you lost? exits that way if you wanna leave." Seems like a nice enough girl. Would feel kinda bad just killing her for drops.

Did you guys kill her? Is there any consequences to killing/not killing her?

Playing dark souls remastered on ps5 about 5 years after playing original on ps3. Anor londo at a higher resolution and framerate is crazy.

Help me order the areas from highest elevation to lowest

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 07:45 PM PST

This has been on my mind for a while, and I wanna see if y'all can help me out with this. I realize that time and space are convoluted in the world of dark souls, but just ignoring that for a moment, how would you order the areas from highest elevation to lowest? Below is my best guess, but I could be way off. I'm leaving out the DLC areas, Painted World of Ariamis, and Kiln of the First Flame just because they complicate things too much:

    1. Duke's Archives
    2. Anor Londo
    3. Crystal Cave
    4. Sen's Fortress
    5. Undead Parish
    6. Undead Burg
    7. Firelink Shrine
    8. Lower Undead Burg
    9. Darkroot Garden
    10. Depths
    11. Darkroot Basin
    12. Blighttown
    13. New Londo Ruins
    14. Catacombs
    15. Valley of Drakes
    16. Tomb of the Giants
    17. Demon Ruins
    18. Lost Izalith
    19. Ash Lake
    20. The Abyss

    Thoughts?

I didn't do anything to her, she just suddenly started attacking.

Sudden boost in vagrant spawns? (Ds1)

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:32 AM PST

Past two days I've had 3 vagrant spawns all in different places (Sens funhouse, Oolacile Township, and now Kiln of the First Flame), anyone else getting a lot now or has this been pure luck?

    Accidental dark lord ending.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:31 AM PST

So I beat dark souls mostly blind and I accidentally got the dark lord ending because after I beat Gwyn I saw that the fog gate cleared up for a moment so I was curious about why so I walked out and ended up getting the dark lord ending. And I purposely did solaire's entire questline so that me and him could link the flame. That sucks

I am thinking of buying dark souls remastered

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 12:07 PM PST

The good: I'm thinking of getting dark souls remastered because it looks like an amazing game and I feel like I'm missing out since everyone and their mom has played at least 1 dark souls game. I like the aesthetic and love a good challenge in games (not torturous levels of hard). My favorite game is Hollow Knight and I completed 112% (pure completion) so I'm okay with hard games. Most of the praise I hear about dark souls is the same I hear about Hollow Knight so I think it'll be really good.

The bad: I have a ps4, Nintendo switch and a windows laptop. Dark souls is on all three of those but I think it's best on windows even though it's a laptop and not a pc. I have about $100 in my steam wallet so it's enough to buy it, but I won't be left with much. I am 13 years old so my parents wouldn't buy it for me unless I convince them it's worth it (they're ok with me playing some 18+ like god of war 4) so this is probably being bought with my money. I save my money a lot so I very paranoid about whether it would be worth it or not and if I would keep playing it.

    Knight’s Honor Achievement

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 03:09 AM PST

Do I need to have all of the rare weapons at once in order to get the achievement? For a couple of weapons I have downgraded to +10 and then turned it into something else. Has anyone else done something similar?

Where do I go after Moonlight Butterfly?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 02:33 AM PST

After defeating the Moonlight Butterfly I got the divine ember from the dead Blacksmith and went back to the Blacksmith, and gave him the divine ember.

I then grinded souls to get the astorias crest, but I got stuck in a part were a kind of bear almost one shot me.

Is that the place I should be heading towards? If not, where do I need to go?

(also, I already played the undead church's bell of awakening)

Things to do before fighting Gwyn and starting NG +

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 05:46 PM PST

This is my first souls game and I've killed all the bosses besides gywn. I heard once you go to fight him you're basically forced to start NG+. Is there anything important to do before doing this? Also should the dlc be completed before this or is it unlocked after? I bought Re-Mastered and it has the dlc but I haven't figured out how to access it yet

    LF: Loincloth (PS4)

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 02:26 AM PST

I'm looking for someone to trade me a loincloth. I have souls and some consumables. I'm SL 73 on PS4.

If there is a trading subreddit I can post to instead of this, please direct me.

    Thanks!

    Zweihander or Black Knight Sword?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 02:17 AM PST

Just started a new strength build on Dark Souls Remastered, got the zweihander right of the bat and I've been using it for a while now.

Managed to kill the Black Knight in Undead Burg and it dropped the Black Knight Sword and I'm considering using it. I haven't upgraded anything yet, so I won't be wasting any titanite right now.

My dex is only 10 though, and the requirement for one handing the BK sword is 18. Does anyone know the two-handing requirement for the BK sword?

Also, if anyone could give me some advice on which one would be better in the long run, that would be awesome.

    Thanks :)

What is your favorite boss in DS1?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 09:55 PM PST

I have always found the best boss in DS1 discussion interesting, since there are so many great bosses. Artorais is a fast foe and is super fun to fight and has probably some of the best lore behind him. Sif is a extremely emotional and impactful fight with story tying back to Artorias. Then there multiple just extremely well made bosses like O&S with their varying speed and arena and Kalmeet with his aggression yet still very balanced attacks. And I was just wondering what do you guys consider your favorite boss? Mine is personally Artorais for multiple reasons but the main ones are his move set and story.

Blunt weapon version of Balder Side Sword

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 07:08 PM PST

Something that is easy-ish to get, fast, and just great and versatile all-around? I've like my Club and Reinforced Club, is there something else I should look into investing upgrades into?

    question about pvp soul farming

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:50 AM PST

im running through the game with my friend and i was gonna do some souls farming with her so we could have an easier time (ive already beaten the game before but shes not very good at it and i havent done any pvp because i was too scared)

so any my question is, how does pvp work? specifically how does the red soapstone work? can i just soul glitch myself to level 700 and then let her summon and kill me to get a ton of souls or does she need to be summoned and kill me while im host? or is it more tedious then that? and does the red eye orb from kaathe only let you invade players with the same password? or can it bring you to people who have different passwords?

    edit: fixed typo
