I can’t find the summons in the belfry Luna and it’s driving me crazy!

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:43 PM PDT

I'm playing the dark souls series on the original 360. Have the discs and everything. It's offline as well.

For The life of me I can't find the summons for the gargoyles. Everyone says it's under the stairs on the second level, but it doesn't appear for me!

Before you ask, yes, I'm human.

I've heard enemies are very magic resistant, but I wasn't sure about dark.

Iron Passage, the place where I finally go hollow.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:56 PM PDT

I'm done and this time I mean it. I've lost all enjoyment with the game, this is where I officially quit Dark Souls 2, this is where I finally hollow. I just can't pass it, it's been over two hours and I just can't do it, I honestly hate this game now. Iron Passage took all the fun I had and just made it fat roll off the edge of a cliff. I can't take getting swarmed by four fucking guys that kill me in two hits all attacking at once while some mage hides making my Greatsword take two years to swing and makes me fat roll. This place is actual bullshit in my opinion, while playing I've said certain areas are bullshit, but once I continued I later realized that it wasn't so bad after all and I just needed pay some more attention, be a bit more careful, take the area slow, or just "get gud" and beat it. But this area, this area is actual bullshit in my opinion and it took all the fun I was having and threw it away. I'm not usually the type of person to quit during something difficult, I'll usually say "that's it, I'm done" and than continue with the game, overcome the challenge, and than have loads of fun with it. But not here this is where my journey ends, the place where I go hollow.

A lot of you seemed to enjoy my recent video taking a humorous look at DS2, so here's the follow up, covering the 3 DLCs for the game

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 12:12 PM PDT

I think that they're basically about ganks, moisturiser, and a trip to Canada. I might be wrong though. Here's the video if you fancy checking it out, hope you enjoy:

Could someone help me with weapons?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:20 PM PDT

I have a magic mace that has pretty much carried me through the second half of the game. It has been leveled up to 10, so it is maxed out. The thing is, there are probably stronger things out there, but they aren't strong for me. I have a 41 for my strength but a 22 for my intelligence, which is what influences the magic mace, right? So why do weapons that are based on strength not do as much as the mace? What should I do?

    I did it!

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:20 AM PDT

I beat dark souls 2 all bosses solo with no NPC or player summons. I had previously played through the game once with a friend pretty much the whole way but now I beat the entire game by myself. I decided not to summon NPC's either for some reason. Hardest bosses for me were definitely Lud and Zallen, Sir Alonne, and the Blue Smelter demon. Now onto the Platinum....

Iron Man -- Entering the home stretch (for build completion)

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 04:44 AM PDT

Again -- the idea is a character that can use Iron Flesh and fast roll.

Not that the Skeleton Lords are hard regardless of build, but they were the first boss I was able to use Iron Flesh twice against. And Iron flesh makes you practically invulnerable to the little skellies. Something everybody should experience once. Just wade into a swarm and start swinging.

Mytha hit me three times. Health bar barely twitched. That's kind of a theme. You can afford to concentrate on offense and try to get the fight over before the Iron Flesh runs out (I have under 40 seconds as I now have the Lingering Dragonquest Ring +1 and Northwarder set)

And Iron Flesh against Fencer Sharon is easy mode.

I sill have Iron Keep to complete. And the only part likely to be a problem is a certain lava hole. (I have a partially upgraded Dragonrider Bow and Lighting arrows. I am not a believer in fair fights)

Then there's the small matter of actually getting the Old Iron King crown and the build will be complete.

And based on what I have been through ...

Fun but not actually cost effective. Better for a high level NG+ run than NG as this is functionally a Havel's run (I spend way more time in Havels than Iron Flesh) and the frequent gear changes are not something everybody will enjoy. Yeah. I could just wander around in Northwarder gear, but at that point it's pretty much like I've wasted 30+ levels.

Now I'm over-leveled enough (because of wanting to get the Northwarder set early) that it hasn't been any kind of problem.

EDIT: Armorer Dennis on the way back. Equally easy.

And now My Ice Rapier is +5 and lightning infused.

Woah. Crypt blacksword is bloody powerful

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 12:26 PM PDT

Id always meant to play around with it and never did. So today i +5'd it and imbued it with dark, holy fuck dude. Nearly 1k AR (961 with flynns/RoB+2/dark clutch, 991 with sacred oath) and its got a whopping 130 counter dmg rating. It's even got higher AR and counter, compared to the 100 counter rating of the sacred chime hammer which was my previous highest AR weapon. Granted I've got 83 faith/81 int/94 dex and 80 str lol, so a pretty end game character.

But this thing hits like a truck. I didnt realize i think the counter damage was so high compared to others. The downside is i use Flynn's, so my vit is only 9 so i cant have any other weapons equipped. But I figure it will be good for PvP (if the game wasnt dead lol :p). Just got into ng+7 and used it for fun against the last giant and was getting like 1700+ on r1 swings (res weapon buff + sacred oath, no RTS ring).

I usually use dual chaos or bers blades for bosses but i might have some fun with this weapon and try it out with RTS on a low def boss. Its fun seeing big damage numbers :)

Is there any other weapon that has higher AR & counter damage than this one? Ive got pretty much every weapon in the game that I know of and so far total none have a higher AR even than this, and they usually wont have this high of counter damage either. Im quite sure a backstab or riposte would 1 shot anyone in pvp.

Edit - my mistake. My dark sacred chime has 980 AR vs 961 of dark crypt blacksword. I read it wrong I think. But still, 30 more counter rating is massive for only 29 less AR. Absolutely insane. Now i want to power stance them and see what that can do :)

    How do they work ?

Ive read depending on covenant you can invade different Soul memory players... But we are in a state, where isnt enough players to invade... does it just decline invasion or does it find it no matter the soul memory ? does it go through all playthroughs or does it stick with playthrough im in currently ?

    My DS2 Journey Continues

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 09:25 AM PDT

    Hi Souls Warriors,

I just wanted to give an update on my journey. I've killed the Lost Sinner which wasn't to bad and am now in the Shaded Woods. I loathe the fog area, it is so ridiculous how many times I got backstabbed and finding the clearing with the talking head was a pain. Other than that, everything is going well. I must admit a good portion of ds2 lacks real luster environment wise. Everything sort of blends until after the shaded woods in my opinion except for Hiedes Tower of Flame and The Iron Keep which were disappointingly short. Now, I am seeing much more variation in fun visually interesting areas. So, I am more engaged than before.

    Respectfully, A Humble Sun Bro.
