| Posted: 24 Sep 2020 04:21 AM PDT I started playing dark souls a week ago, got the trilogy box set and I was so excited to start playing. Anyway, long story short, it's now uninstalled and back in the box sat on my shelf. Can't get past the bell gargoyles, tried like 30 times and it's basically very boring now. Not even got close to killing them. If and that's a big IF I manage to get the first one to 50% health, I get wiped almost immediately when the second one comes flying down. I have the hand axe +5 and I'm playing as a pyromancer with the crimson gear. My level is 21, I'm all set to beat these things but I just can't and I'm not even getting close enough to keep my interest anymore. I've looked at countless youtube videos on how to beat them but in my play through they seem so much more aggressive than in any of the videos I've seen. I'm ashamed of myself for uninstalling and admitting defeat but getting my arse handed to me over and over again, isn't fun, never has been and never will. The fact it takes a millennia to drink a potion doesnt help. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 24 Sep 2020 10:05 PM PDT It's hard to describe, but you can just feel it. That loneliness and insignificance you feel when you're walking around looting, you know what I'm talking about. All the other fromsoft games make you feel like a powerful badass blazing through the world (at least in my experience), not dark souls. Bloodborne is the closest thing to dark souls's atmosphere, but still doesn't feel quite as special. For me, I think the slightly outdated graphics and somewhat bland levels are what gives it such a special atmosphere, as weird as that sounds. What do you guys think it is though? I've been so stumped on this since I got into the souls series, and I was wondering what everyone elses take on it is. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 24 Sep 2020 08:15 PM PDT I finally beat Sen's Fortress. I've been camped outside this pile of swinging axes and boulders for a week. Just doing skirmishes, testing my luck, and lots of push ups. I tried everything, or so I thought. I made a trip down to firelink to see my friends, and of course, whine about my predicament. Who do I meet, but, a kindly pyromancer? I ask him, "hey, man, how do I best these snake-men (that's what they're called here, not man-serpents) that vex me so?" He asked if I'd tried kicking, or parrying, and I replied "yes of course", but I did not elaborate as to whether I found this effective. My answer obvious, he pitied me and taught me the pyromancy "iron flesh" and it is with this might under my wings that I thought I were the conquerer of this puzzle box of traps. Took one attempt against the gate keeper before I realized my folly. Too strong to move, BUT not too heavy to pick up and throw.... Caution, Adventurer, our fate rests on thine shoulders. But then when you finally use all your souls for titanite and upgrade the weapon to the boss weapon you get hit with this message "your stats do not meet the requirements of this weapon" feels bad man [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 24 Sep 2020 04:12 PM PDT EDIT: I did it! Thank you, guys!! I appreciate the help :) I've never felt such defeat before. Not since 2018 when I'd rage-quit on the Taurus Demon. I'd thought I'd grown. Nope. The amount of mental pain I'm in is astronomically astounding. Truly! What a feat Mr. Lovely Artorias was able to perform MULTIPLE TIMES; my ass is now on a plaque, and my dignity has been stolen. I've studied his attack patterns--attack only after the lunge and somersault-jump attack--and only heal during his power-up explosion thing. I'm honestly so defeated, and I have no other ideas. I've died to him countless times in the last three hours, and I fear for my controller. TL;DR: Are there any tips you can give me to best Knight Artorias? I've defeated every other major boss in the game, aside from Lord Gwyn, so I'm not completely helpless. My armor is a mess, however, so if you have any ideas as to what I should wear, I'd appreciate it. Thank you so much!! [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 25 Sep 2020 01:14 AM PDT Gonna start this right off the bat with I have literally no idea how this happened. I played DS1 for the first time a couple years ago and have recently started my first serious playthrough of the game. I have a lot of area knowledge thanks to both YouTube videos and my own current experience with the map, but there is one thing I cant figure out. On that first playthrough, I never beat Ornstein and Smough. I never even beat Quelaag to get to Sen's. So now the question poses itself. How the actual hell did I manage to reach both The Duke's Archives and Lost Izalith before even knowing about the Lordvessel or even Frampt? I remember traveling through both areas so distinctly that I made it through to Seath and the Bed of Chaos on my first attempts, but based on game progression, i should never have even set foot in those areas. I dont know if I'm vicariously remembering watching a friend play it or what, but this has been nagging me since I hit the bonfire before Crystal Caves. Speculation and discussion about this is fully welcome. I just want to figure this out. I should add here at the end, I played the PC version without DSFix or mods and I had never even seen glitches performed in the game, including Sen's Gate Skip. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 11:37 PM PDT The reason I ask is that I did a ton of farming about halfway through the game to completely change my specs and although I still have 1 Lord Soul to get before Gwyn, I basically run around full time Human and haven't been invaded(or seen summon signs) for quite a while. I've been sitting at level 83 for a while thinking maybe I'd start seeing some invasions, but nope. Headed to Dukes Archives next but I was curious if I over leveled past the point at which most people clear the NG and head to NG+ [link] [comments] |
