After spending solid 2 hours, finally managed to beat Taurus Demon Posted: 22 Aug 2020 05:30 PM PDT Me and my gf is planning to co-op and I've read that we need to beat Taurus first in order to do so. So we rushed him and died again and again to the archer(at least me), and she gave up and just waited for me to 'figure out' the strat. I always died by the freaking archers, no matter how perfectly I avoid the boss' attacks. I just noticed the ladder, killed the archers, and beat him. Well, I told her and she did that too. But what's surprising to me was that in her fight, THE DEMON JUST FREAKING FELL OFF THE FREAKING BRIDGE. Tongue But Hole [link] [comments] |
I finally beat Dark Souls Remastered! (Also Boss rankings) Posted: 23 Aug 2020 01:13 AM PDT After 73 hours and ALOT of deaths I finally beat my first souls game DS1, the game was absolutely amazing and is definitely one of my favorites of all time. Without a doubt this community made the game 100x better so I thank everything for the experience. I wanted to document my experiences with the bosses so I could look back on and share with everyone. There will definitely be typos so apologies in advance, also if you have any questions please ask! Asylum Demon 1/10 - really easy because I picked fireballs as a gift DIED 0 TIMES Taurus Demon 1/10 - this boss fell off of the bridge so I don't have a much to say, I beat him my first try but I would definitely of died if it wasn't for that DIED 0 TIMES PICKED UP ZWEIHANDER Bell Gargoyles 3/10 - I picked up the Zweihander because of this boss, I died once to this boss and did no damage with my halbert so I went looking for a new weapon and found the Zweihander. Lets just say if your having a lot of trouble with this boss get the Zweihander DIED 1 TIME Capra Demon- 7/10 this was the first boss that gave me a real challenge, the room was way to small and so far those dogs are my least favorite enemies in the game. What made this boss really annoying though was the walk to get there. I died more times getting there then facing the boss, thankfully someone pointed out that you can unlock an easier way to this boss which helped me a lot! DIED 6 TIMES MoonLight Butterfly - 7.5/10 worse boss so far, I heard she was really easy but for me she was the hardest so far. Sticking to the wall that she was on was the best strategy but it was really annoying only having about 5 seconds to hit her DIED 6 TIMES Gaping Dragon - 4.5/10 it took me a couple of tries to understand that you need the wait until she stop running and then attack, after I realized that I beat her in one attempt. DIED 4 TIMES Chaos Witch Quelaag - 8/10 I had a lot of trouble with her of at first, her lava and sword attacks were annoying to deal with. Then I learned if you just stay right in front of her she is a lot easier to deal with DIED 8 TIMES Ceaseless Discharge - 2/10 I learned him to the lava and died very easily, his attacks are easy to doge and I had a easy time fighting him DIED 1 TIME Iron Golem - 2/10 very easy boss, you just have to stay behind him and chop at his ankles until he dies DIED 0 TIMES Ornstein and Smough - 5/10 I was the most nervous for this boss fight, I heard about it for years before I even considered playing darksouls and all I heard was how hard they were. I want to preface this by saying that I was using a +10 Zweihander and I really think that's why it made this boss pretty easy. The attacks were easy to doge I could R2 and stun ornstein before he could get an attack off, and Smoughs attacks were easy to doge so I didn't have much trouble, I didn't die once in the second phase and I think that's because I killed Ornstein first DIED 3 TIMED Stray Demon - 8/10 I had a lot of trouble with this boss, The AOE took me a long time to get the timing down but once I did he was pretty easy. Also I used a dagger that did crazy damage to him DIED 6 TIMES Seath The Scaleless - 3/10 Another pretty easy boss, The hardest part of Seath was trying to cut his tail off the get the weapon that drops. Other than that all his attacks are easy to doge DIED 1 TIME Sif The Great Grey Wolf - 6/10 really cool boss, I had trouble staying behind him because he would jump out of the way DIED 5 TIMES PinWheel - 0/10 There isn't much to say, this boss was barley a boss. I beat him in 4 hits and didn't get damaged once DIED 0 TIMES Crossbreed Priscilla - 0/10 I think I was overpowered for her because she died in about 6 hits, she didn't get an attack off and finding her while she is invisible was easy DIED 0 TIMES Gravelord Nito - 4/10 Getting to Nito was a lot harder than the boss itself. Overall this boss felt really rushed and I felt it had a lot of artificial difficulty added in. Also He kills all his skeletons with his AOE attack which I find hilarious DIED 4 TIMES demon firesage - 3/10 there isn't much to say about this boss, it's the stray demon but with fire, but for some reason a lot easier DIED 0 TIMES Centipede Demon - 2/10 again there isn't much to say about this boss, his attacks were slow and he died relatively quickly DIED 0 TIMES BED OF CHOAS - 6/10 This boss was very annoying, It has nothing to do with skill and has everything to do with wishing she didn't sweep you into the falling platforms, this is probably the pinnacle of how not to do a Souls boss DIED 8 TIMES Sanctuary Guardian 3/10 I like the design of this boss a lot. His attacks are cool and I think he is an amazing way to start off the DLC, My only complaint was that he was a little to easy. Though It was probably because I was overpowered. I was around level 80 and had a +15 Zweihander DIED 0 TIMES Knight Artorias 8.5/10 My favorite boss so far, I love the 1v1 sword fight and the felling. It made the fight a lot more intense, definitely the hardest boss I've faced to far. The attacks were read and I died many times to the jumping attack DIED 7 TIMES Manus - 5/10 This feels like a boss that would be in Bloodborne, I haven't playing that yet but my interest went up after fighting this boss! This boss was very fun to fight and I'm very surprised I was able to beat her in only 3 tries DIED 2 TIMES Black Dragon Kalameet - 3/10 I was expecting more from this fight but I still found it fun, I heard this was one of the hardest bosses in the game but I managed to take it down pretty easily. It's lighting attacks gave me the most trouble it I found out quickly that staying close to it was the best option DIED 0 TIMES Dark Sun Gwyndolin - 1/10 This was definitely a unique fight but sadly that is its down fault. It's a boring fight that is more about chasing Gwyndolin than actually fighting her. I did get reckless though and get bit by her magic which did a lot more damage than I thought it would DIED 1 TIMES Gwyn, Lord of Cinder - 9/10 An amazing final boss. It had Just the right difficulty that was worthy of a final boss. I love how there is no cutscenes and the fight just starts with the amazing music, I couldn't of asked for a better final boss . (I know you can parry him the death but I decided not to) DIED 10 TIMES [link] [comments] |

Killing Manus at SL1 NG+6 with only a Drawing Tablet Posted: 23 Aug 2020 03:50 AM PDT Hey guys, its been awhile. I've have spent the last 2 weeks working through NG to NG+6 (max difficulty) at SL1 on my drawing tablet and its finally been finished!!! Here is the kill of Manus at NG+6. Link: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/718983451 The entire run I avoided using pyro until this guy. After 3 streams of fighting him he broke me a bit and I lit him on fire. I will have my revenge and return to kill him in NG+7 with only a nail bat at some point. [link] [comments] |

Why was Gwyn's kindling of the fire so bad? (Lore Questions) Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:01 PM PDT One thing that confuses me when people discuss Gwyn's linking of the fire was that he's the reason everything is terrible and he's the one who created the curse of the undead. But isn't that more so the furtive pymgy's doing by sharing the dark soul with the other hollows? Isn't turning into an undead becoming hollow and just returning to your true form as a Hollow? Clearly during the age of fire, when hollows are in possession of humanities they become agent. But once they return to a hollowed state they are completely devoid of any thought. I mean if they did have thoughts and will, they wouldn't just mindlessly saunter around and attack anything in possession of humanity, so I cant imagine complete apathy is at all pleasant. Even if that preserving the sanity of everyone wasnt Gwyn's goal when kindling the fire, and he just wanted to keep his hierarchical world structure in order with the gods at the top and everybody else below, wasn't the outcome also renewing everybody's sentience? Are people who are critical of this decision, in blunt terms, saying: "Reject Modernity, return to monke" Is the philosophy at play when people are critical of Gwyn that No Agency + Equality > Agency + Classist Society Theres got to be something Im missing lore wise that is confusing me about this situation. Tales from Lordran: "What's this eye?" Posted: 22 Aug 2020 09:21 PM PDT I've played through Dark Souls many times over the years, enough times to fill 3 storage devices (Limit of 10 saves on each). By far my favorite was my dragon bro. If you're unfamiliar, a dragon summon item places a silver eye, and when someone activates it you are pulled into their world to duel. It is pretty rare to see. So rare that one out of ten times I got summoned, the host didn't even realize I was there to duel. They would seem confused, and unprepared for a fight. The first couple times I smashed them. But I quickly realized that it was a dick move. Instead I would attack once so they understood what was happening, then I'd back off and let them heal for a fair fight. One time as I approached the host they gestured, and then proceeded to move towards the rest of the level. He had assumed without a second thought that I was just like a white summon to help beat the boss. I played along, even pretending to attack the enemies while carefully avoiding hitting the host. He made his way to the boss fog and passed through, sending me back to my world. I laughed as I imagined his reaction, suddenly realizing he was on his own. This gave me an idea for some evil fun. On the next one, I followed along to the first enemy, and suddenly spammed my dragon shout, giving that silver knight an easy kill on a staggered and confused host. The next time it happened, I once again pretended to attack the enemies, all the way to the fog door. But I had readied a power weapon hornet ring backstab, one shotting him just before he entered. The amount of WTF must have been glorious. Each one of these hosts that I did dirty got a message to hit my white sign. I dropped a humanity to replace the one I cost them, and then helped them beat the bosses. Tl;dr don't poke a dragon in the eye, unless you're looking for a fight. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:53 AM PDT Incase anyone is wanting to pick the game up or back up after having traded it or selling its on sale in PS4 store right now for $19.99 for the next month or so. I played and beat it on XBOX ONE and my save got corrupted so I retired from DSR but then got a PS4 to play Bloodborne and of course repurchased all the souls games but didn't want to pay $40 for DSR but noticed it on sale yesterday so picked it back up looking forward to a new Strength playthrough [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:21 PM PDT So, several months ago, my fiance bought me a PS4, the first Playstation I've owned since a PS1. For the longest time I've been a Microsoft fanatic. The Soulsborne games have never interested me up until this point. After getting the PS4 I noticed Bloodborne was on PS Now so I downloaded it just to dip my toes in and see what it's about. I started playing it and I could not put it down. I played it religiously until I beat it and started playing it on a second run. Then, since I liked Bloodborne, I bought DS3 The Fire Fades edition and again, I could not put it down and played it religiously and am on my second run into it. So, since I now love these games that FromSoftware makes, DS2 Scholar of the First Sin edition was on sale for $10 and I downloaded it. Well... I'm trying really hard to like this game. I'm practically forcing myself to play it almost. Yet, there's something about it I cannot, for the life of me, make that same connection. Is it me? Am I just not seeing it as I should, or is there something legitimately wrong with it. I can't put my finger on it. Hopefully someone out there can make sense of my disconnect with DS2. Edit: spelling and grammar [link] [comments] |
Is the dark souls remastered multiplayer better yet? Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:02 PM PDT I really wanna buy it, but I also play the souls games for the multiplayer, and I heard both the original Dark souls and this remastered suffered from a lot of exploits, so with that in mind, have they fixed anything or is it untouched? [link] [comments] |
Did you play the game completely blind? how was it? Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:51 PM PDT Greetings! [link] [comments] |
I beat the Bed of Chaos and I don't get the hate Posted: 22 Aug 2020 05:23 PM PDT I have constantly heard terrible things about this boss and Lost Izalith in general. But when I beat it a couple of days ago I just found the area and the boss itself to be quite meh. And it wasn't even that difficult. I would like to hear why people hate this boss so much, I just don't get it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:18 AM PDT Hello there fellow hollows, the title explains it all to be fair so I'll just clear out a few things here. I have close to 600 hundred hours in this game and I'm by no means a beginner so i probably have the basics of the game covered up. With that out of the way I can get to the problem at hand, recently I went back to a NG+5 character i had abandoned a couple years ago due to being stuck at the four kings and all was well and fine until i defeated the bastards, I warped to firelink shrine and proceeded to jump down in frampt's hole to firelink altar to finish the game but I simply died (i had already jumped down there to place the lord vessel so frampt is long gone by now). After respawning I tried to warp there from firelink bonfire but the warp button wasn't there anymore ( tried in undead parish bonfire too and it's the same thing). I really have no idea as to why I can't warp or jump down the hole, and I'm sure I have placed the lord vessel before because i have all four lord souls in my inventory and the golden fog is lifted. Tried quitting and restarting the game already and all other characters are working just fine. [link] [comments] |
[Spoiler] I finished Solaire's quest today. Posted: 22 Aug 2020 05:03 PM PDT Of course you can guess how it went. First Dark Souls run ever, I just discovered there's a way to save him by scrolling on this sub after the disaster. I almost never cry playing video games but that got me harder than I thought it would. Me, a grown ass adult just spent the last 10 minutes bawling my eyes out. I knew the game is what it is, dark, but I somewhat thought Solaire was immune to dying because he was so radiant in that dead world. I feel his death is worse than just dying, he was driven mad AND it's preventable so it's arguably my fault. My boyfriend told me he knew how to prevent it but didn't tell me anything to let me experience the game. It's been long since I've felt this attached to a video game character. Props to the Dark Souls devs to make the player feel so deeply the loneliness and sorrow of their world. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Aug 2020 03:24 AM PDT There is nothing I want more than to be able to buy prepare to die edition on steam once again. It's very frustrating that the only way I can get a copy of this is by paying 150 euro to buy a key from a shady website. The remastered is fine, but I still want to play the copy before the enhancements and it sucks that I can't [link] [comments] |
Question regarding NPC death animation Posted: 23 Aug 2020 01:01 AM PDT Normally when an enemy is killed( like hollows in undead parish) they turn to rag dolls, but when an "Important" NPC died (like blacksmith) or something like royal giants in anor lando , then "turn to dust" and disappear. why is this difference? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:27 AM PDT I've really been having fun in a playthrough, I'm using a devine Claymore, it's a lot of fun. I'm just using enough strength and sex to weird it one hand, and the rest is in faith [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 04:05 PM PDT What is the general consensus for this boss. I thought that she would be difficult but I only got hit once by her aoe attack and beat her first time with ease [link] [comments] |
Dark hand found in undead burg Posted: 22 Aug 2020 01:37 PM PDT So I started a new character, a sorcerer lady and I found this weapon I've never seen before (several playthroughs) called the dark hand. I looked it up and apparently you can only get it by joining the darkwraith covenant or killing a darkwraith with a 1% drop rate. I found it in the undead burg however just sitting there. Is this normal or did my game give me an extremely rare find? If held in the left hand it becomes a pretty decent shield too. [link] [comments] |
How do i not get cursed to oblivion by Seath? Posted: 22 Aug 2020 04:39 PM PDT I'm playing on ng+ against Seath right now and am eating my own words, i said in a previous post how easy his fight was and how i was quite disappointed by it, but now here i am getting cursed to hell and back. All his attacks are easy to dodge, the crystal breath that he does infront of him, the tail tantrum, but he sometimes does this crystal breath attack that completely surrounds him and i can't get away because it covers half the arena, how am i supposed to dodge that? Does it have some telegraph that i didn't notice(wouldn't be surprised as I'm only seeing 5% of him through the fight because he's so damn big)? Or is there some shield or armor that negates curses? This fight is incredibly easy barring that one bullshit attack, and it's really starting to get on my nerves(mostly because how it made me look like an absolute buffoon). [link] [comments] |
