Should I pay Dark Souls 2

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:47 AM PDT

I loved Dark Souls 1 and 3, but a a lot of people say Dark Souls 2 was not that good. Particularly some famous youtubers. So I was wondering if I should play it?

Crown Of Ivory King Final Boss

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 10:24 AM PDT

This was one of the most epic fights I've seen so far! The soldiers combined with the summons made me feel like I was commanding an army to fight against Chaos. Even with all that, the boss fight wasn't easy.

This entire sequence was nerve-wracking but epic. I love it.

    A Heartwarming encounter

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:49 AM PDT

So I was in Throne of Want helping people with bosses, and this guy summons me. We fought the throne duo, and Nashandra, and then Aldia appears, and the guy dies. We tried 5 more times and the guy wouldn't give up, no matter what. Gundoc, if you're reading this, keep going at it. I'm sorry I left, but I hope you get what you wanted.

    Finally started playing!

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 07:49 AM PDT

After playing DSR countless times i wanted to try the others, i was told so many times that ds2 was bad, so i went right to DS3 and didn't really enjoy it, so i figures is final my try this one out as i like the older clunkier play style. I just made it to that little village in majula and that creepy little music as you enter really brought me back. I don't know what it is but it hit me the same way starting DS1 felt when the crow grabs you and swoops you away to firelink for the first time, i find ds3 didn't have that.

    So far so good!

I like NG+ in this game

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 12:37 AM PDT

The addition of new enemies makes it cool. After beating DS3 a billion times I already know all the mobs. And same thing with DS1. I think there should be more of an incentive to push for harder NG cycles. Something to freshen the experience of each run a little bit. Also you should have an option of increasing the difficulty further after NG+7 or if you want to keep it at NG+7 difficulty. Nawsayin? lol

I've 100%'ed this game once and almost twice now (on PC this time). I've done the Enchanted Bluemoon greatsword glass cannnon build. Is this the best build ever?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 01:30 PM PDT

Yes, BLUEmoon greatsword not moonlight greatsword.

    • It cuts through elemental resistances that the DLC mobs have, or any mobs, and allows you to do hyper damage with Int scaling.

Basically, build a fragile glass cannon setup (high int, low or no defenses, make sure you get 20/25 in ADP though), and then when you're around SL160 and get up to the post-game DLC grind, you should notice at this point that Glass Cannon is no longer good because Fume Knight and all the DLC mobs have stupid resistances.

Anyway, respec and have 80 Int + 18 str/dex (I think this is more powerful than MLGS as that requires 28 str, which means less points elsewhere). Enchant the Bluemoon greatsword with Magic and upgrade it to plus 5.

Since this weapon scales of intelligence, it does about as much damage as a Soul Spear in 2 hits. In fact, I was 2/3 hitting EVERY DLC monster effortlessly. Aside from the obvious grindy rank 3 heirs of the sun miracles build, this is possibly the easiest and cheesiest build I've ever tried and everything is just so damn easy.

You can use the sword anywhere, and also still have Soul Spear + Staff of Wisdom +5 when you need it. You won't though.

Recap: (You can only do this build post-game, earliest is at Pre-DLC since you need Benhart's sword) * Respec your sorcerer to Base Sorcerer stats,

    • 80 INT+

    • 18 STR/DEX

    • 25 VIG

    • 10-18 END

    • 20 ADP

    • ATTN at your descretion. Mine is just enough to have Soul Spear and Crystal Homing + 2 Great Heavy Soul Arrows.

    • Enchanted Bluemoon Greatsword

    • I use all armor of aurous (the translucent one from Maughlin)

    • Ring of Wisdom

    • Steel Protection Ring (or situational)

    • The DLC ring that boosts Int

    • Best 3rd age ring you have (the one that boosts HP, equip and stam?)

Yeah that's it, try it and you'll see what I mean. It's absolute destruction, never mind that you die in 2 hits (from a boss), you won't need those 2 hits anyway since the ADP should keep you dodging easily.

What's the worst thing in ds2

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:04 AM PDT

I personally LOVE dark souls 2 , it's the first dark souls that i have played and took me more time than ds1 + ds3 + sekiro in my first playthrough . However i would say it's the weakest of the bunch for alot of reasons . So tell me which aspects do you hate in ds2 . For me that's gotta be the bosses , besides Sir Alonne , Fume knight and the Ivory king .

Is there anyway to get back to the bonfire? I accidentally destroyed the black barrel. I have a lot of souls and unfortunately I do not have any homeward bones.

    Which sorceries should use?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 11:11 AM PDT

I'm doing a INT/Melee build cosplay of Benhart with the real Moonlight Greatsword and some sorceries, since MG is no buffable anymore I wanted to ask you which sorceries I sould use to complement the combat in PVE and PVP. I have 5 slots to use and I'm using the Staff of Wisdom with 50int but i'm gonna change it for the Amana's one just for fashion, thx for the help. PD: I've never did a Sorcerer build before so any recomendation will be good. :)

    A Ds2 veteran's first time playing sotfs

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 11:00 AM PDT

I picked up vanilla ds2 after playing dsr on the switch last summer as my first dark souls experience. It's been a whole year since then, and I've beaten every soulsborne game except Sekiro...... but not really. I've never actually played ds2 sotfs. I picked it up recently during a steam sale and I think I'll give it a whirl soon. I've seen people play parts of it, but hope it'll still be a good surprise for me. I'm also excited about interacting with the more active community. Think I'll try some sort of magic build. Is there any different mechanics in sotfs that I should be aware of? cheers!

    Can’t beat Sir Alonne

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 12:47 PM PDT

I really can't beat Sir Alonne, he's ( in my opinion ) to fast for the game. I use the Sacred Chime Hammer because I was told it's the best in the game, but it's to slow for Sir Alonne since he's always jumping around. And when I try to use a long sword or a rapier they do NO damage whatsoever.

Does anyone think they can help me? Or at least tell me a good weapon to use against him? Thanks.

So I opened my old DS2:SOTS save file from two years ago..

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 12:41 PM PDT

And what I saw was a beast of a character. 82 hours logged. Level 153. Every DLC and Boss beaten. I remember really liking the game, but Jesus. I was rocking some boss armor too, with a ridiculously OP sword and shield. This really makes me want to go check out my DS3 save game, because I remember DS2 was the lesser of the two games that I spent time on.
