strange "invader" crab on my way to Gwyn...?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 01:23 PM PDT

It is one of my many attempts to beat gwyn and rushing and ignoring the various knights, when I got to the "little bridge" (after the first two knights) and on the left of the intersection (the one that at the right has the black knight set) i found a strange enemy crab with a red-ish look (like when a player invade). Anybody know what it is? first time seeing it tbh

Blight town really wasn’t that bad

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 09:25 AM PDT

I'm at the tomb of the giants just after beating pinwheel and I've already beat seath, I've gotta say - both the catacombs and crystal caves have made me way more angry than blight town

    Omg i did it

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 11:02 PM PDT

I have recently started playing ds1 remastered, never played any souls like game before so it was a little hard for me in the beginning. The first boss I was stuck on was capra, took me 3 tries to kill him, I thought there can be no boss tougher than him. But after arriving Anor Londo I finally realised how foolish I was. THE MOTHERFLIPPIN NAUGHTY DUO Ornstein and Smough gave a too damn hard time. Finally after wasting 9 humanities (only using 1 and rev hollo to summon solaire) and 5 solo tries in 2 days, today I finally beat them fair and square. I feels soooo goood. Just a message to those stuck on Orn and Smo, dont give up , never give up, keep trying again and again. After beating them I assure you, you will feel like a god.

Tl;dr : I beat Orn and Smo after 3 days and I feel like a god.

Best way to replay DS1 on PC: vanilla PtDE? modded PtDE? Remastered? Modded remastered?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2020 02:29 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

Since Vaati did a new lore video on the whole DS serie, I'm getting the itch to play the first game again. Since the remastered came out since I last played the first episode, and account vary greatly when I'm searching online, I might as well ask you guys! For a PVE playthrough, what would you recommand? PtDE with DSfix? Pay 20.- to get the remastered? Or PtDE with other graphic mods?

What about Daughter of Ashes? Is it worth it? Lore friendly and still accessible? Or more of a hardcore challenge for those that played the game 30 times? What about Ascended Mod?

    Anyway, any advices are welcome!

It is true. Repetition is the key to success

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 01:16 PM PDT

Just realized for my last 2-3 runs I beat Sens fortress, Anor londo cathedral parkour and Archer Knights in Anor Londo on my first try, seemlessly.

I used to fear these places, and often quit playing a run out of anger especially in Anor Londo

I guess this is true : repetition is the key to success.

I know this is only a game, but I do feel proud

So, which is the right way to kill Gwyn

    Posted: 14 Jul 2020 04:35 AM PDT

Do you parry him because it's so easy or do you fight him normally????

After 15 hours and what felt like hundreds of attempts Lightning Boi and Thicc Daddy are defeated!

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 01:36 PM PDT

As you can see from the video I was pumped!

My strategy was to put super light armour on and fast roll. I found it easier to take down Ornstein first and then just not be dumb and be patient for opportunities to hit Super Smaug.

    I Love this game!!!!

I know this isn't a huge deal, but he was the only one I couldn't really beat on my first run... after four tries I killed him without taking a hit :)

    About character builds...

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 06:05 PM PDT

For every playthrough of Dark Souls I've ever made, I've been using the Elite Knight Set, Longsword, Crest Shield, Pyromancy Flame, and Longbow. People are telling me that straight swords are inefficient and the shields are for casuls. What do people have against shields?

    Question about Weapons!

    Posted: 14 Jul 2020 05:02 AM PDT

Hey all, I'm definitely a new player and I've been playing for about a week now, got the Parish Church Bell rung, beat Capra, beat the Butterfly, etc, basically I've gotten my feet wet pretty good and explored a lot. I haven't gone into the underground area that the Key from Capra opens up, I haven't gone to Sen's Fortress (was murdered quickly when I wandered in that direction) or touched Blight Town.

My base class is Warrior and 1h Sword (or Axe) and Shield combo is what I'm enjoying the most. I'm currently using a Longsword +5 and a mix of Leather and Heavy armour for my playstyle but my question is, how do I go about upgrading my Longsword or getting a new one-handed Sword from here? I found the Astora's Straight Sword but it requires putting 4 levels into Faith for me to use properly. Is that worth it?

Overall, I'm just a bit unsure of what is expected of me as the player when it comes to using weapons. I've been putting a lot of levels into Strength because can't go wrong there but should I be throwing points into stats like Faith in order to use weapons that fit my playstyle or is that making it too difficult to level up my "core" stats? If that's the case, any tips on where to go from a Longsword +5?

This game is amazing and I love it, frustrations and all. Thanks for any help!

The Four Kings got me singing Bohemian...

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 04:18 PM PDT

So I'm no amazing Dark Souls Vet, and rather a more casual player just enjoying the company of Solair, and it has been all fun... but I'm now stuck with beating one of the four required Lord Souls, Four Kings, and I'm kinda stumped. I've even done the game again with two other characters with different builds, dex and vitality, and I always get stuck with the Kings. Like the other bosses can be difficult but I can manage them, it's just the Kings I get stuck at and I am so close to Gwyn. Anyone have advice for me that might help me beat them? ~ May you praise the sun my jolly cooperators!

Any spoiler-free only "missables/beware of" guide?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2020 04:20 AM PDT

I've looked around quite a bit, but I can't seem to find this.

    What do I mean?

As a new Dark Souls (remastered, if it makes any difference in these regards) player who has to work most of their life and has no extra life to be playing single games for years, I'm looking for a guide that would allow me to roam freely in Dark Souls without fear of missing things permanently (I know all resets on NG+, but you'll understand what I mean) and making choices that will lock content.

Since I know Souls games are full of these (already experience it the hard way with Bloodborne, and I don't want it to happen again), I'd like to find a guide that just tells me things like:"beware, if you kill this boss before talking to that NPC, he won't give you his unique ring";"beware, if you choose to help that NPC, this area will be inaccessible";"beware, if you pick up that item, that NPC will attack you and his quest line will end, but if you instead finish his quest, the item will no longer be reachable".And such.Basically, all missables in terms of items, quests, bosses, areas and whatever else.

All I find are full guides where you have to read through pages and pages (spoiling everything) to understand which are the actually missable things.
