Dragon Aerie Is One Of The Coolest Looking Areas In DS2

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 07:37 AM PDT

I really like the aesthetics of those mountain peaks with bridges crossing all over and Dragon Shrine in the distance

If you disagree, please state why and what's the coolest looking area in your opinion

My thoughts on the ruin sentinel:

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:48 PM PDT

So I just beat the lovely trio :D

honestly probably my 2nd favorite fight in the game so far.

while they don't have many moves, its still -as far as I know- a more varied move-set than the prior bosses which is cool and keeps you on your toes, also the fact that there's three of them that you have to manage(two if you stay up on the platform).

but what I love the most about it is that it's balanced, yes there's 3 of em,and yes you're gonna get hit trying to learn their moveset BUT,they are not ruthless, they allow you to heal which balances out the difficulty.

so what do you guys think of the trio of ruin ?does the community love or hate them?

    also,here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AigiOEPcQSI

rate my ruin sentinel fight xD,it was my second(third?)time going up against them so I wasn't familiar with the moves yet,and boy did they destroy me with the spinning sweeping attack.

also also xD,you can see my build at the end of the fight, tell me what you think of it so far.

    ONLINE PROBLEMS

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 01:54 PM PDT

Well, me and a friend are trying to play together and we can't see the invocation signal. - His soul memory is 103k and mine 114k - We can see the same blood-stains and messages - We're both in human state and without the effect created by burning an effigy on the bonfire. - Tried with the two white soapstones - We haven't kill this zone's boss (Ruin Sentinels) - We have allowed the cross region matchmaking - Neither of us is or was in the Company of Champions Covenant - Both of us tried to invade other players with the Cracked Eye Red Orb and the game tell us there aren't other worlds to invade - We can see each other as phantoms

Tried restarting the game, and resting on bonfires and teleporting to the same area to make the game reload the zone but nothing works and i can't find solutions, anybody knows how to fix this?

Edit: Yes, we've played together before.

    Good melee build suggestion

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 10:29 AM PDT

Hello guys, i am going to start my first play through and i wanted to ask you what kind of build you suggest for melee play style based on my previous experience with soulsbourne games.

Background info: i have played Bloodborne (pure strength with saw cleaver BL 85 by ending) and DSR (quality with claymore 40/40 str/dex SL95 by ending). I have already read DS2 adaptability is an important priority but i don't know how the rest of the melee build suppose to be developed and what to priotize first. What do you suggest for a good melee build? I can also go pure DEX since i did not tried if there is any weapon that scales well with it.

Note: I only care about NG gameplay, i don't grind/farm unless i feel it is necessity for going forward, i try to discover every bit of the map in my first run.

    Sir alonne

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 04:52 PM PDT

Just beat Sir Alonne without getting hit. Decided to try no summons play and had defeated almost all the bosses. But to see him perform seppuku gave me a sense of pride. I have come a long way xD

    New Player Build?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:44 PM PDT

I'm a new DS2 player and I was wondering what y'all would suggest for a build. I've played DS3, Bloodborne, and DS1 before and I'm a big fan of Pyromancies and using Greatswords. I saw that there are some cool bleed builds you can do since Bleed and Poison scale with Dex and I thought that would be fun but all the builds suggest curved swords and Imm just not a big fan of those weapons. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Edit: I just found out what Twinblades were and now I REALLY want to use them. Preferably any build that use these weapons would be great!

The identity of The Lost Sinner?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 08:22 AM PDT

The Future Press guide suggests, "The Lost Sinner possesses the Soul of a Great One; she holds the remnants of the Soul of the Old Witch of Izalith. Eons have passed since the legendary Witch walked the land, but such was her power that it persists even now."

If so...which witch/sister would she be? And where is this notion coming from? I must have totally missed it.

    Executioners chariot at NG++,,,,

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:13 PM PDT

    Guys and girls

Got the plat and finishing out this level / revisiting the DLCs but saw something about the Bone Armour set ( or whatever it is called ) and fancied adding that to the fashion souls options,,

Jesus - despite using high poise armour / Baneful bird / rings of giants +2 / alluring skulls this is bloody hard .. cleared out skeleton and resurrection priests ( or wtf they are called) and settled into a wall slot to poison arrow the boss and miss-timed the shrink back to the wall- twat 1 shotted me at c SL 270 with +5 Havel's shield / decent armour

Almost Fume Knight level of frustration - similar thoughts / experiences?

Quick question about that wooden wall in Harvest Valley

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 01:53 PM PDT

    Hi.

I'm replaying DS2 at the moment and my primary goal (long term one) is to get all pyromancies, spells, miracles and hexes. I almost achieve it with my cleric but lost my saves :(

I'm currently trying new things (like being an actual hexer for once) and going through the game... I'm currently at the harvest valley or something like that... That poisonous green disgusting lake full of weirdos, skeletons and big angry monsters.

I remember there was a wooden wall that you could destroy by luring one of those big dudes to attack them... and I thought I did but I didnt. The big thing is dead and I have a bonfire ascetic. I have two questions:

    • Does anyone know what item is behind the wall? I kinda remember there was something good but... I don't remember at all.
    • Knowing that there's plenty of bonfire ascetics during a playthrough and knowing that I'm not going to use them all... Is it worth it to use it in that bonfire? Is one right before the big dude, some little area with 3 fast ones and lots of stairs with those crystal lizards.

    Thanks

Missed opportunity in Crown of the Dunken King DLC.

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 01:36 PM PDT

It states in the lore that the Sanctum Knights are in conflict with the Drakeblood knights, however, there NPCs don't fight each other.

It would have been cool if FromSoftware made the NPCs fight each other for the player to use that to their advantage.

Perhaps up the NPC count to make it a tactic rather than an exploit.

    So about stamina recovery speed..

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:54 PM PDT

    Important question friends:

does the effects of multiple items that increases stamina recovery speed, add up?

I just got the shield that has a big flower engraved-forgot it's name-it increases stamina recovery speed, and I also have the ring that does the same effect.

if I equip both is it a waste?or will they stack up?

I tried to test it ,but didn't feel anything changed xD maybe I'm blind.

taking it a step further: if I pop the green herb while I have these items will it FURTHER STACK UP?!

I need to know, the shield is 4 weight, and my VIT is not the greatest...

    thanks in advance.

New to DSII + Suggestion for a good str weapon.

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 05:20 AM PDT

I just finished Dark Souls Remastered and thoroughly enjoyed it enough to do a run through the entire series including Bloodborne. So here I am at DSII and it's been... interesting so far lol. I'm enjoying DSII somewhat even though I feel like From was stroking their dick a little too hard with the whole "prepare to die" nonsense in this one. I'm having infinitely more trouble with random trash enemies in DSII than I ever did in DSI which is odd. I think it might be because DSII feels/is significantly faster than DSI and a little less lethargic. Hell even fat rolling in DSII feels way faster.

No problems with bosses yet so far. The Last Giant and The Pursuer where quite easy. Although I had no idea you could use the giant crossbows, that would have saved a good 10 minutes in the Pursuer fight... Anyway I haven't really found any weapons that appeal to me yet. I'm wanting to try a similar build like I did in DSI: high str build 2 handing ultra greatswords. I loved the Zweihander in DSI because of it's ability to just flatten enemies into the ground and used a +15 one all the way to Gwyn. If they're similar ultra greatswords with an amazing R2 in DSII do let me know when/where I can find one, I very well could have overlooked it already.

I want to change the Controller bindings on PC

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:25 PM PDT

So I recently played DS3 and DS1 remastered and loved the games. Now I wanted to play DS2, my issue is that you can't map your controller ingame. (I want to change the roll button with the light attack button because thats how I played the other 2 games)

I tried alot of things like x360ce, reWASD and also the Steam controller mapping. Nothing worked for me so far. (maybe I was too dumb to follow tutorials)

I have a xbox 360 controller that is wireless and really only want those 2 buttons swapped.

If someone has a sultion or an idea I would appreciate it alot because I would love to play this game with the button mapping I enjoy.

Difficulty gap too wide between shield and no shield (rolling) ?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 11:50 AM PDT

Played ds1 with shield (first souls game), definitely a difficult game but wasnt pain in the a**.

Now started playing ds2 and my controller's L1 is half broken so decided to go with no shield build and i was barely making any progress. Equipped a shield and now its a breeze.

Some of you might say , 'once you learn to dodge attack, there is no need of shield.' Thats my point, there is a learning curve to dodge but maybe shield is easier for beginners ?

Share your thoughts and correct me if my opinion is wrong.

    Genuinely baffled by this game

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 05:50 AM PDT

Okay so first off this post isn't meant to be toxic and I'm not trying to hate on DS2. Second, I'm sure you guys have heard this 100x before so for that I'm sorry but I would genuinely appreciate some insight.

I have over 150 hours in DS1, 400 hours/platinum for DS3, 500 hours/platinum for Bloodborne, and 200 hours/platinum for sekiro. I have owned scholar of the first sin since it was released on PS4, and despite giving it countless chances over the years and starting god knows how many new games, each time telling myself "THIS is gonna be the one, It's finally gonna click with me this time." I've never been able to finish it, or even get close to finishing it.

I want to love it, and I really can't put my finger on what the issue is. I always run out of steam and lose interest shortly after killing dragonrider, or I just get to the one guy who says that statue gives him the willies and get frustrated because I don't know where to go. In all the other games, not knowing where to go or what to do never put a damper on my enjoyment of the game, since half the fun to me is exploring the environment, but the environment of this game just, fails to captivate me like the other FromSoft titles.

Again, this isn't meant to be a hateful post bashing the game, I love the other From games so so very much and I wish I could love this game too.
