Sorry for not trusting you, player "Wannacry" Posted: 02 Jun 2020 04:37 AM PDT If you're reading this, I am sorry for not trusting your dropped bag on the ground. I never thought that there would be such nice players who drop human effigy after invading. I've read that hackers can drop items and when you pick them, you get banned so I didn't picked it to be safe. After you killed yourself down the lift in Sinners' Rise, I thought maybe you truly just wanted to give me something normal, so I picked it up and it was human effigy, basically, you wanted no consequences for me if I die in this fight. Sorry again, but maybe you'd be more trustworthy if you didn't name yourself after nasty computer virus from 2017. Edit: You invaded me again and gave me 5 human effigies. You rock dude. Thanks! The reason I started to play Dark Souls Posted: 01 Jun 2020 06:49 PM PDT My first souls game is Dark Souls 2.. I got it on my xbox 360...at first it was a terrible game for me... I dont like to manage my stamina while fighting.... I decided not to play the game for almost 2 year.. until recent quarantine thing happen.. I decided to play it again...I go for a new character cause i thought my stats on the first character was so f*cked up cause I put the stats point all over the place... and choose I choose knight classes... I went through the game again until I made it to No Man Wharf... at this point I was gonna quit again cause I dont know where else to go and it become quite boring to me cause I always use the same weapon.. until I found this 2 chest with a man call Gavlan inside.. the first chest have The Greatsword... I was like "Ok, its pretty cool but I cant use it because of my stats"...I decided to just equip it to see what's the weapon look like... I was surprised... That weapon is huge... So i decided to use all my boss souls I have at my disposal to put points in strength... the time I made it to Lost Sinner.. Its time to put the weapon to the test.. I upgrade it to +3 at first cause im too lazy to farm souls to buy titanite shard... It was epic as hell, the greatsword obliterate The Lost Sinner.. I do die couple of time fighting her but I dont care, the big ass sword in my hand feel powerful, the sound it make when you swing it, the impact it does to the enemy, the design of it that makes me wet... I fell in love.. now i finish the game the 2nd time with a new character... I speed through the game and use The Greatsword again throughout the game... the game feels easy for me... the first time going through the game is hard.. I die so many times at Shrine of Amana so many time even bosses didn't kill me that many time... so yeah thats about it... I already have 69 hours in the game including both character playtime...made it to new game +3 and I have 3 Ultra Greatsword that I use (Smelter demon sword, Pursuer Greatsword, and The Greatsword).. and yes long story short the greatsword is my only reason I start to play Dark Souls 2.. it was a fun weapon and I enjoy every moment I have with it Thank you for reading this and have a nice day :D [link] [comments] |

Beat Fume Knight without getting hit. Posted: 02 Jun 2020 10:02 AM PDT Took me 4 tries, and only fails were on the 1st phase because his combos can be really long during that phase. [link] [comments] |
Do you guys ever notice how much this game feels like Demon Souls? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 06:40 AM PDT So Dark souls 2 is by far my favorite in the trilogy and while i was playing i notice just how many little details made me think of demon souls. Lenigrast and the twin blacksmiths, the Emerald Herald and the Maiden in Black, the dude on the rock and the dude on the stairs(i forgot his name but hes like the first crestfallen warrior). Honestly ive always felt that Demons Souls is one of the best games in the series and seeing its influence in Dark Souls 2 really heightens the experience. Even the story seems to share the same sad tone as Demons Souls and i love it. THat's all. [link] [comments] |
Finally beat SL1 - All final bosses Posted: 02 Jun 2020 02:17 AM PDT Sinh, Fume Knight, Burnt Ivory King and Aldia are all down! The real final boss was Ivory King though, man he is hard on SL1, but it's such a great fight! At the end I wasn't even annoyed with the Battle Royale before anymore. Nashandra and Aldia were kinda disappointing, but I wasn't expecting much. All in all, the Ivory King DLC was the hardest of them all. I was stuck for a loooong time on Aava and then the King himself. I nearly gave up, but what made me pull through was trying different strategies and play styles whenever I noticed I didn't fare well with the current approach. Now on to a No Death/No Bonfire run! Why people black crystal out when i summon them? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 06:14 AM PDT As the title says: i arrive in a new area, i see a summon sign, i summon the guy, he enter my world and the first thing he does is bc out. Wtf are you putting your sign down if you don't want to help me?!? And if you are waiting for a friend of yours, why don't you put the name engraved ring on? It's the only dark souls game in which this thing happens, in ds1 and ds3 people always help me if i summon them. Smh [link] [comments] |
this game is going to give me an anxiety attack Posted: 02 Jun 2020 10:22 AM PDT |
Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:15 AM PDT I've been going for 100% in DS2: SOTFS using a checklist from the Internet and I was just about to finish my first playthrough before I realised (as they weren't included on this checklist) that you have to do the DLCs... including Sir Alonne, a boss I have always struggled with... fml [link] [comments] |
How on earth am I supposed to kill graverobber, varg and cerrah? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:12 AM PDT I'm playing through the game for the very first time and so far it wasn't that bad in terms of the bosses. But this fight is driving me insane, I've been at it for 2 hours now and it's not fun. I just keep frantically running around the arena for 10 minutes just to get gangraped at the end. I died to them at least 10 times by now. One time I managed to kill the archer bitch and while giving the katana dude the final hit, Havel backstabbed my 2k health bar into Oblivion. I killed Elana on my first attempt and sinh took like an hour or something, but sinh was actually a pretty good boss fight. This fight is just a pile of trash. Tried getting the NPC multiple times but they just die leaving them at half Health and my weapons doing third the damage they usually do. Is there anything I can do or should I just move on to the ivory king dlc? I'm running a hybrid build, using a greatsword and a few hexes. And I'm sure I'm not underleveled. I'm around SL180. Posted: 02 Jun 2020 10:21 AM PDT So Dark Souls 2 is canonically a sequel of Dark Souls 1, and Dark Souls 3 is canonically a sequel of both. However I very much feel that Dark Souls 2 is the black sheep of the family lore-wise, and this is due to how Dark Souls 3 treated its (Dark Souls 2's) lore. So much time has passed between Dark Souls 1 and 2 that the places and people are gone, so gone that we don't remember their names. Gywn and his children, Anor Londo, Lordran, they're all not only missing but their names are missing from history. All we have to connect them are a few ancient miracles, an odd and corrupted suit of armor (Old Dragonslayer), and some powerful (some would say "great") souls. Dark Souls 3 basically takes this decision and says "SIKE!" cause all that shit's back now. Gwyndolin's own god-flesh is still here (where the hell was that during Dark Souls 2?), as are entire cities long destroyed by the time of Dark Souls 2. I can't blame the developers for this decision since the community basically rejected Dark Souls 2's existence, but I would really love it if something, anything, embraced what Dark Souls 2 had to say about the Dark Souls world. Most important of which is, imo, Vendrik's Blessing. So here I present to you, an Alternate account, of what happens. Dark Souls 3 doesn't exist, this is the lore of Dark Souls 2, part two... The Bearer of the Curse has just received Vendrik's Blessing. This blessing is given not to them, but to the crowns themselves. From now until assumed the end of time, whoever wears one of these 4 crowns becomes immortal, un-hollowing. It turns out this is pretty overpowered, as humans have limitless potential for power as long as they continue to grow their soul. Which is exactly what the Bearer of the Curse does. The Bearer keeps a crown for themselves, but eventually (or immediately, such details are far lost to time by the time we reach Dark Souls 2, part 2's present day) They gift the remaining 3 crowns to their 3 most trusted, most loyal, and most worthy allies. I'd like to think Lucatiel received one, personally. This begins the first Golden Age of Man. From here on out, I shall refer to the bearer of a Blessed Crown as a God-King, because that's what these humans become. They live forever without hollowing, without going mad, and without weakening over time. By comparison to their subjects, they are all powerful and reality is dictated by their whims. Because all 4 (including the Bearer of the Curse) are extremely closely allied, at first they work in harmony to truly bring about a blessed age. But as time immeasurable passes, the four grow further and further apart. Then one of them, or perhaps all of them, realize they'd rather have the crowns on other people, people closer and more loyal to them. Thus begins the Endless Wars, a feud between the 4 people who happen to have the Blessed Crowns at any given time. Naturally this war doesn't end when the crowns change hands. More time immeasurable passes with the crowns swapping bearers infrequently but still enough that none of its original bearers, or even the set after its original bearers or the set after them, are known. The Endless Wars begins slowly, with no God-King able to ever get a true edge over their now bitter rivals. Everyone is just amassing more and more soul power, and alliances shift constantly. This all changes when one of the God-Kings remembers about the First Flame. They remember the prophecy their ancestor was supposed to take part of, but used the power of the Blessed Crowns to reject. And they have a question: what happens if you burn yourself on the First Flame, but you are immortal and un-hollowing? What happens is you gain a massive boost in power as the first flame ignites and burns hot at seemingly no cost to you. Whichever of the God-Kings figured this out instantly gained the power they needed to reunite all the crowns under 1 person for the first time since the Bearer had first received them, ending the Endless Wars, and a second Golden Age began. There is a problem. A God-King is not, as first thought, immune to the decay the First Flame inflicts on its fuel. Simply, the God-Kings were so powerful, with such immense souls, that they failed to notice the cost. In addition, while a God-King grows weaker atop the First Flame in the long term, they do not hollow in the process (for they are immune), and in the short term they receive a massive power up. The First Flame therefore presents a few options to the God-Kings. If they work together, they can share the burden of the flame, rotating it between them as the previous bearer regains their soul power. But the current bearer is, at least temporarily, powerful enough to overtake the others for their own gain (in the form of obtaining the other 3 Blessed Crowns). Igniting yourself atop the First Flame is a true Faustian Bargain however, as you have bet your immortality on increased power. If you don't dominate the other God-Kings and implement your own regime quickly so you may shed the burden and regain your soul power, you will die, even with the crown atop your ashen skull. It is unknown to history if any God-King actually sat atop the First Flame long enough for this to happen, as typically another God-King would steal their crown and kill them long before that could happen. Therefore the introduction of the First Flame into the equation creates two paradigms. When the 4 God-Kings are working together, sharing the flame's burden by rotating its possession, the world is in a Golden Age, even more beautiful and prosperous than before the Endless Wars began. When the First Flame is instead weaponized to conquer and redistribute power, and Endless War begins of such massive devastation it makes the previous Endless Wars before the First Flame look like a Golden Age of peace in comparison. This is where Dark Souls 2, Part 2 places the "present", in the middle of a bitter, seething, hateful Endless War. You are a regular human, and you seek a Blessed Crown, so that you might live eternal and prevent yourself from hollowing. But why stop at one Blessed Crown, when you can use the First Flame to obtain all the crowns, give them to our allies, and then share the burden of the First Flame and increase your power and influence exponentially? Well, my child, what you fail to realize is that such a feat is more than you might be prepared for, and that countless others like you have attempted it and failed. Even those that succeeded, if they were still alive to speak to you, might warn you that the cost of Godhood, immortality, and endless power, is worse than its fruits. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jun 2020 01:02 PM PDT I was going for a HEX fun build but got sidetracked as the possibility of trying what 99 FAITH does picked my interest. How good is it if using a Lightning Dragon Chime+5? Is the damage increase really that different from 50 to 99 Faith? [link] [comments] |

Got any tips for DLC or any advice for it? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:53 AM PDT I'm trying to complete all DLC on my NG yet there hard and frustrating but I'm not giving up, Is there an in order for the DLC's, Like playing the first DLC that came out, My first DLC location was in a snowy castle and encountered Aava the King's pet, I died 4 time's but the 5th was a success I encountered a woman who talks about Old Chaos and she wants me to defeat it as her final wish so her King can be set free, and so I did and yet failed, she gave me assistance of a Light knight, one knight that was with me, as I went down falling I thought to myself this might be a piece of cake cause a knight is with me, as I went down there were 3 portal's and they summon the dark version of the knight that came with me, and I said " I take it back from what I said" The Light knight went in front of the portal and he froze it but yet he has to sacrifice himself for doing leaving me with those bad guys, I think it just came here just to stop them from summoning through the portal and I have to kill like 5 or 6 dark version's of them for crap sake, I died. My Level is 150 DEX build known as the " The Ponderer " I created a few weeks ago, Not good making Dex builds but I'm trying, and I don't know what to do at this point [link] [comments] |

What's the rule with changing LH & RH equipment mid-action? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 12:24 PM PDT I am having some trouble in this aspect of DS2. In DSR I can press left/right during a backstab/riposte/roll/swing/cast animation, and my weapon or shield would switch right after the animation is complete. In DS2 (SotFS if that matters), it happens sometimes, but not everytime. Have got killed lots of times because of this. What's the rule in DS2 regarding LH/RH weapon or shield switching during other actions? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Jun 2020 11:53 AM PDT At long last, I've finished DS1 on NG, I heard many things about DS2, including some changes in combat, and what is that blue bar by the health and stamina? Now, before I started playing DS1 I studied it's rules and basics. Tell me you guys, what should I do in preparation for DS2? [link] [comments] |
