Stuck in a room after being killed by seath.

    Posted: 30 May 2020 06:55 PM PDT

So I went into the seath fight with 2 estus and no clue what was happening. Long story short, ass kicked real fast. I was expecting to have to go back to the bonfire I previously rested at and just run past all the small enemies to get to seath to save some estus . But for some reason I respawned in a curved hallway, next to a man serpent fight club thing with no apparent exit. When I try to warp out it says the bonfire is cut off and I cannot warp. I've been stuck here for 30 mins please help.

    First Playthrough: Build Fail!!!

    Posted: 31 May 2020 12:34 AM PDT

So I picked up DSR and I'm ENTIRELY addicted. I'm staying up crazy late into the morning because I "almost had that boss." Important note: I, in-fact, did NOT have him.

I'm playing as a cleric, and I'm decked out in full Silver Knight gear, fresh from defeating Ornstein and Smough, and ready to research how to get all these great Miracles everyone is always talking about.

I open up the wiki and discover that one of the vendors for Miracles was that guy that tricked me in the Catacombs when he pushed me into a pit where I accidentally chopped that lady to death with my claymore. I later came back and killed him in revenge...no big deal, let's see who the OTHER vendor is....oh. :(

    Amazing game

    Posted: 31 May 2020 03:25 AM PDT

I just finished dark souls for the second time. My first run finishing the game was 21 hours, and my second is 5 hours and 50 minutes. I tried to speedrun it but holy mother of god is it hard, i eventually finished the game. And this game its mindblowing, even though its hard as hell its still my favourite game. In conclusion, this game is amazing.

Just beat dark souls for the first time

    Posted: 30 May 2020 05:17 AM PDT

Wow what a game... went through pain and Came out with glory.everything about this game is amazing by its atmosphere to bosses (besides bed of chaos) to level design and how well everything is connected.

I still think Bloodborne is a little better but this is a hot second then sekiro (which is amazing as well) Gonna go for the dark lord ending then move on to dark souls 2.

What an amazing game, FromSoftware are just the best.

    I'm in utter disbelief

    Posted: 31 May 2020 03:53 AM PDT

After finishing what was no less than an exhilarating battle against Ornstein and Smough, I decided to head to Oolacile with all the requirements in hand. I did grind a lot, and made sure to upgrade my entire Black Leather set to +9 (all I need now are slabs).

With a Grass Crest shield on my back and a Silver Knight Spear (which I insisted on two-handing), both of which are upgraded to +5, I faced the Sanctuary Guardian and killed it on my first try, hands trembling and all afterwards.

Then it was time for Artorias. I made sure to have a few throwing knives in tow (these can hit him in the face and stagger him during his Abyss buff, completely stopping it). Again, with an almost fully-upgraded black leather set, and my trusty Grass Crest shield & Silver Knight spear, I methodically peeled 'ol Arty apart, spending only 1 flask in the process.

    First try.

The way Dark Souls immerses you in a boss fight is unreal. I'm completely dialed-in and my hands, for some reason, feel tingly. These bosses that used to sweep the floor with me are now completely at the mercy of my blade every time I step through the fog wall, but in no way would I consider myself as getting cocky. I always approach with caution and don't get greedy with my strikes, looking for any opening no matter how long the fight may take.

Thanks for reading, I'mma head into Oolacile Township now.

How do I get my Uchigatana to have fire

    Posted: 30 May 2020 08:31 PM PDT

It has lightning right now but I can figure out how to give it fire instead. Ornstein and smough are handing my ass to me because I'm underpowered because of this

    Don’t you dare go hollow

    Posted: 30 May 2020 02:24 PM PDT

For someone who has struggled with depression for years and using drugs and alcohol to try to fix the situation I want to thank the dark souls community as well as Miyazaki for such a great game that for some may just be a challenging game but for me it's a message. Everyday we fight through life trying not to lose our "humanity". We fail, we mess up, we struggle to gain experience to try to make areas of our life more manageable and easy. If we do fail we wake up at the bonfire and start again. So to the community and anyone who need to help or depressed remember the message "don't you dare go hollow"

    Feeling Really Empty RN

    Posted: 30 May 2020 08:40 PM PDT

When I beat Gwyn it just flowed, linked the fire, started my first NG+ cycle, straight to Solaire, accidentally attacked him, spent 45k souls to fix sins and stuff, went to his side to praise the sun lmao (also spent 30 humanity to save him in lost Izalith) Put the game away forever, at 100 hours and 4 seconds. Funny thing is, I felt more excited after I beat O and S than when I linked the fire. I'm constantly watching souls videos. I'm honestly contemplating buying Ds3 at full price (as I heard Ds2 isn't as good.) I got Witcher a few years back and started playing that again, after an hour or so, I quit cause of the clunky controls, the only rpgs I'm fine with rn are ocarina of time on master quest or Ever Oasis. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW. Like I'm serious this is becoming a problem.

    Any downside on Boss Weapons

    Posted: 31 May 2020 03:59 AM PDT

I was wondering, are there significant (negative) differences if I upgrade my Great Axe +10 to the Golem Axe? For instace: - Different Attack pattern - Slower attacks - unable to wield it with my stats - Less damage

So I just beat dark souls, no not the remastered

    Posted: 30 May 2020 08:58 PM PDT

I was going through some of my old stuff, found my old 360, booted it up, found that I had dark souls, I just finished ocarina of time. I quit for months at a time (didnt know how to beat gaping dragon, O and S (obvs) and I got stuck at dukes and didn't know how get out of the no warp bonfire area. After 70+ hours of failed accounts, around a year of downtime, and a 100 hour run, I beat the beautiful game. On the Xbox 360 (which broke in Blighttown lmao.)

Is it just me or does smough’s hammer suck ass in ds1?

    Posted: 30 May 2020 05:24 PM PDT

It's so big and it takes up the whole screen and it takes way too much stats to use and is super heavy.

    Havel's Demise.

    Posted: 30 May 2020 03:30 PM PDT

I am playing through Dark Souls for the first time and have been loving it so far. Everything from the combat, world building/lore and the level design, (oh my god the fucking level design) is phenomenal. Love seeing where I've been and where I might potentially go. Seeing it all connect and creating that mental picture in my head has been a real joy. I also adore the way you discover the lore through item descriptions and the environmental and enemy designs. I am constantly asking myself questions and theorizing about what each area means in the bigger picture of Lordran.

I just wanted to share specifically one experience that I recently stumbled upon. I got the watchtower key and after reading the description it made me wonder what it was talking about. Is this hero gonna be a boss? Is the basement cell a new area? I quickly headed to Undead Burg and opened the door where I was met with a fully decked out guy swinging a giant club. I died to this guy more times than any other enemy so far except for the gargoyles. I kept getting my head smashed in by being left with little stamina and as you know this guy drains like 3/4 of it. And for a a guy with heavy armor he moves quick. Was getting pretty frustrated with my mistakes. Finally defeated him and was over joyed and as i picked up the dropped item and read its description I suddenly felt myself feeling saddened and felt pity on the pour soul I just put down.

That sudden realization of putting two and two together that this guy is the hero turned hollow and that dear friend who locked him up? None other than Gwyn. I thought to myself how sad it must've been for Gwyn to see his friend become cursed and to then lock him up like that. And the fact that he was locked up in Lordran and not the Undead Asylum made me realize how close they must've been. It was such an amazing experience piecing together this little sad tale. It might have been obvious to others from the start but I was so focused and frustrated on trying to beat Havel that I didn't think about the situation until after beating him.

I've really enjoyed discovering this world and all its little details. Even just thinking about how crowded the lower undead burg must've been or how many sermons and congregations took place in the church. The world might have similarities to other fantasy worlds with kingdoms, knights, magic and towering creatures, but the way I experience this world has been so unique and I am loving every bit of it. Cant wait to dive deeper into it.

How Do Phantoms Appearing at Bonfires Work?

    Posted: 30 May 2020 06:10 PM PDT

I'm editing a video about, you guessed it, Dark Souls, and I'm struggling to capture footage of phantoms appearing at bonfires. Like when you're resting or around a bonfire and the phantom of another player appears. I'm not sure what triggers this in-game and I'm not sure if there are any specific prerequisites for it. Any help would be appreciated :)

    BEAT O&S!!

    Posted: 30 May 2020 09:12 AM PDT

After two hours of whittling down their health so close to beating them but dying to that fat hammer. I finally became so confident in my attempt that I used my last humanity to reverse my hallowing so I could rub it in their dead faces. On my way to the arena I spotted that glorious shining emblem on the ground, at that moment I knew those two had no chance. Me and solaire made quick work of fatty and ornstein fell soon after. That feeling I got after killing ornstein was the exact reason I. AM. IN. LOVE. WITH. THIS. GAME.
